I'm not in rush since I still read a10c manual thanks INTEL CORE I7 6700K ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO ASUS ROG GTX1080Ti Strix OC 16GB @ 4100 MHz |CORSAIR Intel 730 SSD 240GB Corsair 850 W Modular PSU Corsair Obsidian 650d Logitech X-56 HOTAS ,Saitek X-65F HOTAS, Pro Ruder Pedals, Pro Flight Instrument Panel NP TrackIr 5 Pro Windows 10 PRO
Foul Ole Ron Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Go with Track IR 5 - I haven't heard anything about v6 and v5 will work perfectly for all DCS World as well as any other flight sims.
mmaruda Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 I'm no expert in the matter, since I only have my track since December (worth it!!!), but when I was buying mine, no indication of 6 coming was seen and as far as I know things haven't changed. That said, it does not really matter what kind of tracking device you use, you just got to have one. Seriously, the ability to look around with your head is the best thing in sims since joysticks were invented. If you are short on money go with Freetrack or FacetrackNoir. If you can afford TrackIR though, go for it. The sooner, the more time you will have to learn to use it. :) The only reason not to get one ASAP is waiting for Oculus Rift, which looks awesome, but so far there is no telling how it will work with DCS.
WildBillKelsoe Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 I got trackIR4pro and it has been working with all DCS titles. I don't think a 6 is in the tube. It might be worthwhile to save the money for occulus rift which I won't buy but I recommend trackIR5 for now. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
Vivoune Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 I doubt NaturalPoint are working on a TrackIR 6, TrackIR 5 does everything anyone would want within the IR boundaries and then some. If anything, they are considering R&Ding a wireless trackclip pro, just considering. I think It's worth it to get a trackIR despite the Oculus Rift potential release next year, it is likely than some of your head-tracked gaming sessions will still be better enjoyed with a regular screen(s) for those cases where you need to keep some contact/awareness with the real world. xaoslaad Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 I'm hoping they release a Track No IR ala something like the Microsoft Kinect that can do face tracking one day so we need no clips, etc. That's just a pipe dream of mine though. I'd settle for a wireless pro clip as an upgrade.
Panthro Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 agreed no IR would be great. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic86362_2.gif[/sIGPIC]
K2mil Posted November 19, 2013 Author Posted November 19, 2013 I got into the flight sim and I love everything about it except the head tracking system. I thought oculus rift would be cool but on the other hand I would be limited to HOTAS use only I think kinect like device would suit all of us best, I also dislike the clip or cap Idea INTEL CORE I7 6700K ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VIII HERO ASUS ROG GTX1080Ti Strix OC 16GB @ 4100 MHz |CORSAIR Intel 730 SSD 240GB Corsair 850 W Modular PSU Corsair Obsidian 650d Logitech X-56 HOTAS ,Saitek X-65F HOTAS, Pro Ruder Pedals, Pro Flight Instrument Panel NP TrackIr 5 Pro Windows 10 PRO
tintifaxl Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I've been using my TrackIR3 since 2004 and it still works flawlessly. Not HOTAS or any other computer component has survived this long. kk0425 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 TrackIR 5 is plenty. You probably won't see any benefit with a newer version unless they add some kind of major feature since the tracking resolution is more than plenty even for TrackIR 4.
javelina1 Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 TrackIR has got to be one of the best things that came out for flight sims. It is such a great addition.
