FC 3 Su27 (or better ALL FC 3 planes) doesn't behave like their reallife counterparts or are moddeled as indepth as DCS aircraft are.

FC 3 aims to represent the planes capabilitys, not the full order of actions to achieve them. You get the results, not the way to them.

what he said

however in the future maybe we will see a full clickable cockpits for those aircrafts with full AFM

I hope they will abandon this semi-arcade route... or having it restricted to FC. I'm playing DCS because I want a serious and 100% simulative experience (where possible), if I want to switch a button to lock and fire I would play with the Xbox nowadays.

I wouldn't give em any more money if not for modules that aren't AT LEAST at the A10-C level.

su 27 use button enter to lock target and use back to unlock target??are there two button in real aircraft to lock and unlock target??

I have no idea about the Su-27, but that is how it works in the F-16 (TMS-up to bug a target, TMS-back to break lock). If you call that "complicated" then I have some bad news for you.

Modules with the "DCS: ... " name are studysims.

Everything else will be "for DCS", just like FC3.

I'd hardly call Flaming Cliffs "Arcade". It's a long way from Ace Combat and even further from HawX. It's still a decent sim, but it just doesn't require quite the dedication of a full DCS module.

Also, once you've got the radar up & running and scanning the correct area of the sky, surely all you need to do to lock/unlock a target is to press one button or another. Wouldn't this apply to Flaming Cliffs and DCS alike?

Yes the real aircraft has seperate switches for lock and unlock just like FC3.

I'd advise you to ignore most of what has been posted in this thread, how some people think FC3 is arcade and not based on real aircraft is beyond me. I think they have an impression that to lock a radar contact up and fire requires an apu start up/ins alignment before every lock and launch.

Just because it doesn't have a clickable Cockpit and AFM they think it is Arcade.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Plus modern fighter RADAR systems actually tackle a lot of the functions that we currently have to slave over in FC3. If you think that the FC3 jets are in any way, shape, or form, more capable than their DCS counterparts would be, I think you'll find yourself to be mistaken.

If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

In a true DCS jet, you'd be more likely to have fewer steps/button presses than an FC level aircraft.

No wonder I can never figure out the controls in Lock On/FC, but I'm ok in DCS. DCS was the first flight sim since F14 Fleet Defender I really got into and kept going back to. Talk about jumping in the deep end, eh?
