I'm a bit confused about this so can someone please explain. I was wondering if I buy the standalone A10C 1.1.1.1.1, will this also activate A10C in DCS world? Someone said it would, but if that's the case what happens if I just buy the key in DCS world first? Would I then be able to download the stand alone form somewhere or would I have to pay for a disk or something? I'm totally confused here :helpsmilie:

You only need download DCS:W, install them, download A-10C module and install them (or use module manager into DCS:W). Only need enter your key and work perfect.

Yes, the key you have now will work with the module downloaded from the Eagle store. So

1. Download DCS: World and install it

2. Download the DCS: A10C Module and install it

Run DCS World and start a A10C mission, you will then be asked for a key. Enter the key you received when you bought the standalone version and it will activate.

I think you misunderstood what I meant. I know there to be two versions of A10C. The standalone version and the DSC world version. I would like both versions, but I'm not sure if I will have to pay twice? Please refer back to my original post and you will see what I mean by this. Where would I get the standalone version from if I purchase the DCS world module first? Could I download it from somewhere and then have both versions and not have to pay twice? Thankyou!!

No need to, you need to activate it once, either in the World or standalone, and you can install both. I actually have both versions installed on my machine (activated once), as standalone version somehow works much faster on my machine, when I want to export MFCDs on second screen.

Basically they are the same.

Think of World as DCS A-10C with the Map Only, because that's what it is.

Now the map is free and you buy the aircraft that go in it.

If you only have the A-10C module the result is an updated version of the original game. Same with the KA-50.

The big difference is that if you own multiple aircraft you don't have to install the entire game each time, and the developers don't have to update each title as well.

The model is the same as the FS series and Xplane.

I don't quite understand why you would want the "standalone" A-10C. It's not being updated any more, and there's no functionality you get from it that you won't have in World with the A-10C module.

They can both be played single-player off-network.

I have much better FPS in standalone version. About 35-40 on average in standalone compare to 20-25 in World version with similar settings.

But you have no bug fixes (TGP for example), additional triggers and functions for the Mission Editor, no new Smoke effects, no additional improved models for AI planes, maybe no way to get new theaters later and when considering multiplayer you have no working JTAC missing lots of fun with CA and, well it's not that many servers running 1.1.1.1.:music_whistling:

Indeed, I fly World version online, but use 1.1.1.1 for the training purposes, as it's much more smooth experience. It makes me sad that visually they almost identical, yet World is so worse performance wise.
