cichlidfan Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 This line from the update needs to be posted in large red letters on the e-shop pages and added to every FAQ around here. If you already own FC3, you do NOT need to purchase these. The A-10A and Su-25 of FC3 are identical to the DCS Flaming Cliffs versions. joey45 Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 So do I still have to install LOMAC then FC3 to get these or not?? The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. SkateZilla Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 +1:thumbup: Biggest question for me, too! Updating everything over steam, see when friends are playing DCS World... would be really great! The keys you get from Steam and the Keys you get from ED are the Same. I bought my DCS:A-10C from Steam, and used that Serial to Activate DCS:A-10C after I downloaded it from ED's Site, and A-10C Module in DCSW. should be easy to just Add the game to the steam library. cichlidfan Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 All that would still work through DCS World I would image.... No offense to ED, but Steam has better servers, in my experience. SkateZilla Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 wasnt it said the updates would still go through the DCS_Updater / Server? KaspeR32 Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 wasnt it said the updates would still go through the DCS_Updater / Server? Yeah most likely they would still go through the ED auto-updater. BUT, wouldn't it be great if steam just did it for you? 63.7 kb/s to 5 + MB/s. Arctic Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 That would be perfect! Wags, we need answers:thumbup:
Panzertard Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 I had no problem getting 8000kbps+. Probably the route from some of you towards ED's servers which cause the slow download then. Steam got several proxies worldwide, hence better for you. The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning
SkateZilla Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 i usually wait a day to download the updates... never see less than 2000kb a sec,. Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
Panzertard Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 ED / Wags. Is Steam able to deliver 64bit product now then, or will the steam releases still be restricted to x86? The mind is like a parachute. It only works when it's open | The important thing is not to stop questioning

Steam got several proxies worldwide, hence better for you. You probably haven't downloaded an update the day of. Because I've had both 5000+ and under 50 kb/s with ED servers. It's just that they can't handle a lot of traffic at one time, where as steam.. well.. it's steam. cichlidfan Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 ED / Wags. Is Steam able to deliver 64bit product now then, or will the steam releases still be restricted to x86? AFAIK, yes.
