If I may make a suggestion:

If DCS is the sole justification for this new GPU, forget about 6990/7990/690 etc., as DCS will only use one of the cards.

Instead, I would ask about your CPU speed--are you overclocking? If not, you should be! DCS is much less GPU-dependent than most games, and a CPU speed increase can probably net you just as large an FPS increase as a monster GPU.

Case in point: I run a 4-screen setup, with a combined resolution of 5900x2200 in DCS; I have two 7970 3GB cards, with DCS obviously only using one of them; and my stock 3.3GHz CPU is overclocked to 4.8GHz. I run most graphic options near max and rarely see FPS dip below 20. The point being: to maximize FPS in DCS, focus on the absolute fastest combination of CPU and single GPU that you can create.

I'm an Nvidia fan, but I've got to say, go with the 7990. Nvidia's going down a weird road with its CUDA and PhysX. AMD is moving towards better supporting OpenCL, which will benefit everyone.

7990 or 690?

Neither right now, wait till the new AMD option is out in September and how that effects both manufacturer's prices.

20nm Fabbing is no where near retail production, you'll be waiting a while for those 9970s

I've seen the 20nm Fab numbers... they'll have enough for Engineering Samples and Showfloors, MAYBE.

Where does one see those numbers? I don't know you well enough to take it a face value. :smilewink:

I think some of you may have overlooked my previous comment. As some said that SLI and Crossfire won't be so good, I thought maybe the GTX Titan would be a good option. I mean, the Titan is a single core GPU and it has all 6gb dedicated to it, so its good for high res. It is Nvidia so it has advanced PhysX (for Arma III), plus it is Nvidia, so better performance on FSX and DCS.

I can't wait till September, though. I would like to buy it this week or the week after. Thank yoU!

The Hawaii GPU Reveal is going to be a 28nm part.

So...? GTX Titan a good choice. Let's just say that I want really good performance on multiple monitors, but NO SLI or CROSSFIRE. Is the GTX Titan a good choice. Please anyone? Thanks

I got the 780, works fine with 3x monitors at 1920x1080(5760x1080), just not with anti-aliasing cause it uses up all the memory, wasn't willing to spend 300$ more for 10% more performance(the titan), and since most of the time i just use one monitor @ 1920x1200, the extra vram wasn't too important either.

I run the 690 with 3 screens no problems for me nice and smooth no stuttering.

Looking at the specs on Nvidia site and the Titan just seems a step backwards to me in performance but I am no pc guru so don't listen to me Skates ya man he knows what he is talking about.

Thanks. I know that the 690 is faster, but it has only 2gb per core. The Titan has 6gb for one core, so its better for high resolution gaming. Thanks though. Plus I don't have a large enough PSU and good enough airflow to keep the 690 or 7990 cool.
