Running 1.2.5 DCS World

I can see others' server.

But when I host a server, my friends cannot see it. While I can find my friends' server.

I checked that the DCS is allowed by win 7 firewall

The router port mapping is OK because FC2 server host can be found by others. (They use the same port mapping)

Could anyone help me?

Just to verify, you have opened both TCP and UDP ports 10308?

Yes. both are mapped on router.

How to check opened? I think they are open, since FC2 MP server works (same port)

Assuming that your "speed" setting in the MP options list is set to LAN and your connection type is set to "internet?"

Yes speed LAN connection type internet

What should I set?

Start the server. Alt-Tab out to look for a dialog box that is asking if you want to allow the outside connection.

I know you said your firewall is open for it, but do that check anyway ^^

If you are still having problems on Friday, we can do some troubleshooting. After work. I am in the US Mountain Time Zone.

I'll be around intermittently as well and can help out.

Do you guys all confirm you have the same version of DCSW? Also, try renaming your "Saved games" folder (call it DCS1 temporarily) and let the game "rebuild" your DCS folder. Then try. If it doesn't work, then just delete the new one and revert back to your renamed folder.

Also check for the obvious.

Are you running the latest software? If your version does not match others it won't show.

Same issue, started multiplayer this morning and no servers on the list after login?

Also where is the connection type setting? all i have is name and connection speed in the settings menu cry.gif

Right in options at the bottom of the master server window- generally I think default is set at adsl 256...

But no matter what your actual speed is- set it to LAN.

Also- sounds like the master server dropped offline at some point yesterday, not exactly sure when local time. It didn't affect me because I wasn't playing- but there is a thread about it in the server host forum.

Problem solved!!!!

Previously, I set speed to be 'LAN' and connection type to be 'internet'.

Both my friend and I have the same DCSW version.

I can see my friend's server, while he failed to see mine.

I also tried to change the port to 10309, and my friend used IP:10309 but failed as well.

Based on ENO's reply, I tried to set speed to ADSL1024.

Then my friend can see my server!! Amazing!!!

Could anyone explain this?

Could anyone also tell us how speed type works? What does it impact?

Wow. Glad you got it working... All I can think of is that your friend is also set to ASDL 1024, but that doesn't even sound like a good reason for the failure to connect...

Are you both using Connection Type = Internet, now?

Yes, both use internet connection type, since we are in different countries. Otherwise, it is impossible.

The problem was that FC2 works fine but DCS did not.

You do know that FC2 and DCS:World are incompatible?

Yes I know.

I just want to say that it is not the port issue nor router port mapping issue.

In the saved games there is a line in the network file that reads 'public=true'.

I added public = true, to network.cfg at line 14 and still no luck. Anything else to try?

Shrek server has had issues tonight, 6 of us in flying, then server drops from the master server list, and then no one else can connect even via direct i.p even though server is still up and running.
