Taproot Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Hello I have found monitors with the following specs: 8 inch 4:3 at 800 x 600 pixels with 10 ms. Connection: vga. Question is. Will this monitors work as mfd with the thrustmaster cougar mfd set? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
MTFDarkEagle Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Hi- If I recall correctly 8 inch 4:3 monitors would be perfect for the thrustmaster mfd. Best google for the size of the tm mfd's and check. There is a pdf with sizes available. Do you have a link to said monitor? Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
Taproot Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) Actually, the closest you get to size in 4:3 ratio is a 7 inch. But I have not found one yet. And I have been deep in the http://www.... I am looking at this monitors: 8 inches Edit: I am more interested in what you think of the other specs. Resolution, MS and connection. MTFDarkEagle Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Looks fine to me! :) And yes you are correct! 7 inch would be *perfect*. With an 8 inch model you just have a bit of non-used sticking out somewhere perhaps.. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
Swaty Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I can't see the price of the monitors above. Check this seller too: http://www.ebay.com/itm/VGA-2AV-Reversing-driver-board-7inch-CLAA070MA0ACW-800A-600-lcd-display-/181178544891?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a2f1532fb [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] My Pit
Taproot Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Hmmm Those looks nice! However. I dont have anything to case it in.. They are just gonna stand on the table. Any idea how I could sort that? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Swaty Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Oh! I thought you are going to built a pit. In this case the monitors I posted could be impossible to stand! You can built a panel. Superbus has a great one but photos are not accessible any more. Personally, my first attempt was to built a panel to put on my desk before I start trying to built a pit (still working on it!) Taproot Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Clearly you are more hardware-handy then me. :) Good price, but i need something in a casing. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

splash Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 I have two 8" vga monitors from dealextreme.com and they fit very well.
Laurius Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 (edited) Yeah ! Or go simply with 8" Lillliput UM80s with USB connexions. Probably a bit of higher cost compared to previous suggestions but they will make your days brighter and without any troubles...And they will fit perfectly with MFDs Cougar for sure ! And they will stand on your desk by themselves with MFDs on them ;) Edited September 18, 2013 by Laurius Asus P8Z68 Deluxe, Intel Core i7-2600K (3.4 GHz), Corsair Vengeance 2x4096 Mo DDR3 1866 MHz, SSD 120 Go Vertex 2, EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0 4Go (04G-P4-2978-KR), TM HOTAS Warthog #03797 (MB replaced), Saitek Combat Pro Rudder, TrackIR 5, TM Cougar MFDs with Lilliput 8" UM 80
Raceguy Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I don't have monitors behind my MFD's so I built a box and inserted a LED from behind. Mounts are made for speakers. The LED's light up the custom cut outs I made, not shown here, that show the button functions. Ed If at first you do succeed, try not to look too surprised.
