YoYo Posted February 3 Posted February 3 (edited) Heatblur Simulations: Tomcat Update! In some ways; 2025 is a year of checking off some long standing features. Together with the A-6E AI and Draken AI units nearing completion; we're also working on finishing up the "Early A" F-14. The Early A will come with the much more basic and old-school ALR-45 RWR, and we will also be adding some new visual options to the F-14, such as the bullet fairing and extremely early, non-TCS chin pod. The front panel of the aircraft in both cockpits changes markedly; as the ALR-67 display is deleted; as well as changes to the right hand RIO panels. Together with a few other changes; you will be able to fly a Tomcat more authentic to the earlier part of its service life. We're also adding more visual features, such as inert AIM-7s, ALQ-167 visual models, the expanded chaff adapter (ECA) and more. More visual upgrades such as new effects and other fun Tomcat announcements to come throughout 2025 for DCS World; as we port some of our Phantom features and prepare for the next leg in our Tomcat journey! AdrianL Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Polychop update (source: Polychop discord) ------------------------------------ Polychop Community, We wanted to give you some updates on a few things that we think you as the community will be happy to hear. New Developer: Polychop has hired a new developer who is already hard at work diving deep into the internal systems to get up to speed as fast as he can. He brings a lot of experience to the team and we are very lucky and excited to have him on board. New Testers: Polychop has brought some new internal testers on board who are already very familiar with the modules. The testers are getting to work starting with your bug reports here in the Discord to start addressing the current issues that are most important to you, The Community. New Community Manager: I wanted to formally introduce myself as the Community Manager for Polychop. I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Polychop Team. In addition to being the Community Manager I will also be part of the internal testing team, and I plan to start working on some of the most common bug reports that you all have already made to help get them taken care of. With that being said, I have spent a lot of time in this Discord both posting, and reading what you all have had to say over the last couple years. My goal is to help bring you as much insight as I can on things I am able talk about. I will be your eyes and ears as much as I can. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time. New Internal Systems: We have implemented a new internal system that is really going to help streamline the testing and bug fixing process. It is going to make communication and collaboration on bug fixing between the Devs and Testers much more fluid, as well as make it easier to align with each other on priorities of work. What we need from you all on this topic: To help us keep things sorted as best we can in here, we ask that you only post bugs in the bug report channel which can be found here oh58d-bugs. We really don't want to miss anything and would hate for something could get lost in conversation in one of the other channels. Additionally we ask that you do a quick search in the bug report channel for the bug you are experiencing before posting as to help us keep the number of duplicate reports to a minimum. Remember, the more detail you can provide the better. If it is possible to include a video, track file, or log along with your description of what happened that helps us testers a lot when it comes to reproducing the bugs on our side. POLYCHOP IS HIRING: We are looking to add to the team! Current open positions in order of priority are C++/Lua Coders, and 3D Artists. If you are interested or know someone who may be interested in joining the Polychop team, please reach out to @Polychop Sven, or to @CYPHER11 who will be handling all things Human Resources, or you can reach out to me and I will help get you headed in the right direction and in contact with one of them. Thank you for your continued support @everyone! 16

YoYo Posted March 10 Posted March 10 OctopusG: DEVELOPMENT NOTES In the concluding note on the module's development, some aerobatic maneuvers on the La-7 aircraft are demonstrated. Mastering aerobatic maneuvers is fundamental for conducting air combat. The characteristics of aerobatic figures reveal the flight capabilities of the fighter. Proper execution of aerobatic elements is essential for effective and safe aircraft control. You can see aerobatics on the La-7 aircraft in our training film: 16 2 Webmaster of http://www.yoyosims.pl Win 10 64, i9-13900 KF, RTX 5090 32Gb OC, RAM 64Gb Corsair Vengeance LED OC@3600MHz,, 3xSSD+3xSSD M.2 NVMe, Predator XB271HU res.2560x1440 27'' G-sync, Sound Blaster Z + 5.1, TiR5, [MSFS, P3Dv5, DCS, RoF, Condor2, IL-2 CoD/BoX] VR fly only: Meta Quest Pro
YoYo Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Heatblur Simulation: *** DCS F-4E Updates incoming! **** Most of last year was focused on bug fixing, improvements and a lot of underlying core and structural changes to our codebases in order to improve it for the future Phantom updates and to port features to other modules; as well as the launch of some new content in the form of the F-4E Campaign. This year, we’ve turned our attention back to feature development, and it's time to start shipping new features! We’ll be starting off next month with shipping JESTER modding capability, and opening up the API to the community. JESTER is built to be an extensible, modular SDK based around intuitive LUA scripting workflows to model “human-like” crew-members for high fidelity aircraft modules. You will be able to override and extend almost any part of JESTER AI, creating entire new routines, interesting mission or campaign content or more. Check out the documentation for this upcoming feature here: https://f4.manuals.heatblur.se/.../jester/overview.html We can’t wait to see what you do with JESTER! Another improvement coming soon is the addition of the first pass of character customization. Initially, this will be based on presets, with the next iteration of this feature being able to customize each preset or create a custom one with the exact setup of flight gear that you want. At that time we’ll also be introducing new flight gear, such as new helmet types, new flight suits and more. Eventually this system will be ported to the F-14 as well. More visual elements and some associated functionality are also on their way; such as the “Dogbone” gun-camera (and eventually gun-camera functionality), as well as additional visual customization options for e.g. Greek Phantoms! These include the external refueling probe used by Israeli Phantoms, the removal of the “football” antenna on the tail or addition of the newer generation one, as well as plenty of other bits and bobs. Where feasible and relevant for an F-4E as depicted by our module, these visual options will be functional, and where otherwise not relevant they will simply be visual additions for a more accurate representation of national Phantoms. Work has also begun on “Jester Pod” - JESTER being able to utilize the Pave Spike targeting pod! This will be very helpful in Singleplayer, where you’ll be able to rely more on your backseater to get crosshairs on target and precision strike using this early targeting pod. We expect this feature to be finished in April but may be included in a later patch. We’re also finally putting our finishing touches on the F-4 Paint Kit, allowing you to better create new liveries for yourself and the community. We’ll also be soon adding a decal layer on top of the surface of the aircraft, for easy customization of many aircraft modexes. Stay tuned for more Phantom updates throughout the year as we add new novel features to the Phantom, and start adding new features as part of the DMAS upgrade package. Thank you so much for flying the F-4 in DCS, and we hope you’ll enjoy the new features coming down the pipe throughout the next few months! Silver_Dragon Posted March 20 Author Posted March 20 Bo-105 Develop Update (from Discord). Quote Dear Community, Since we will soon be getting the Cold War Germany map, we wondered if it wouldn't be fantastic to have the appropriate BO-105 PAH-1 variant with analog weapon systems for that era. The_Fragger had a great time modeling the modern PAH-1A1 into the analog PAH-1. It actually didn't take much effort! External modeling: Modelling the diagonal PAH-1A1 HOT launch tubes into the horizontal PAH-1 ones went faster than expected. Internal modeling: Since The_Fragger had previously modeled the STR 700/375 IFF system, integrating the device was like a walk in the park. Launch tubes: To ensure target acquisition when maneuvering into cover during approach to the target, we made some adjustments. Since the nose of the helicopter is constantly moving, a motorized system was integrated into the pylons that aligns the launch tubes with the line of sight of the co-pilot's periscope. This means, for example, that if the co-pilot detects a target below line of sight during approach, he can synchronize the periscope's targeting system with the missile's control unit to ensure that the weapons are aligned with the target. 16 For Work/Gaming: 28" Philips 246E Monitor - Ryzen 7 1800X - 32 GB DDR4 - nVidia RTX1080 - SSD 860 EVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 2 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Warthog / TPR / MDF
