Chief Instructor Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Hello, I've been away for a while and things have changed! I have got the original stand alone BS, which I later upgraded to BS2. How do I run BS2 in DCS World? I tried downloading BS2 from the modules section but it won't accept my serial... How should I do it correctly? ( it will search for bs1 as it is the upgrade ) then use your Upgrade key ps wrote this quickly but you will get the idea :) Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Do you mean install the BS1 stand alone version again? Doesn't that mean I'll have a large and redundant 'stand alone' version of it on my PC taking up disk space? I can't see BS1 as being available as a download module... Thanks! Cibit Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 You need BS1 installed until you upgrade then it can safely be uninstalled and your new BS2 will work just fine:thumbup: i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB

chucky35uk Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I am having the same problem. I can run bs2 on its own.....but when I run it from within dcs world it asks for a serial. I have tried both both codes (bs1 + upgrade) It gives me a link to star force website. When I try to deactivate then activate, it tells me my hardware id does not match. (Maybe coz ive reinstalled win 7 64) This is so frustrating. Any ideas? Chucky35uk.
Paganus Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 @ chucky35uk, this might work for you... In RegEdit, Do you see a folder structure under "Eagle Dynamics" for "Black Shark" and "Black Shark 2"? (search Ka-50) WARNING do this at your own risk and BACKUP... Delete the "Black Shark 2" folder from the registry and close RegEdit. Run KA-50_1.2.6.xxxxx.xxx_xxx.exe Go into your ...Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircrafts\Ka-50\bin folder and run the ka50_protect.exe Select the BS2 Upgrade International Key. Enter your BS2 Upgrade key and Activate.
chucky35uk Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Bs2 serial. Peganus....thanks for your reply. I will try your amazing diagnosis tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Chucky35uk.

chucky35uk Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 bs2 serial unfortunately gents I have tried both possible fixes mentioned above. it does say it has updated the registry, but still nothing. asks for serial then says wrong serial. honestly, I have spent approx £50 on both bs1 and 2 to end up with this. ridiculous. chucky35uk
chucky35uk Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 incidentally this is when im trying to run bs2 in dcs world....when I run from bs2 on its own, serial works perfectly. Do i need another serial?
Paganus Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Have you tried simply de-activating the serial in the stand alone version and then activating it inside DCSWorld? It just sounds like the serial activation works fine but it's stuck pointing to the stand alone.
hawk4base Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 incidentally this is when im trying to run bs2 in dcs world....when I run from bs2 on its own, serial works perfectly. Do i need another serial? You have to download the BS2 Upgrade version for dcsw and have BS1 installed before you try to install BS2 . If you have BS2 Standalone installed you need to reinstalled as Dcsw Module and i din't had to enter the key at all http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/modules/dcs_black_shark_2_upgrade/

If I remember correctly it'll be like "Black Shark", "Blackshark russian key" and then "black shark upgrade" , and "black shark russian upgrade key" Select Black shark upgrade if you bought upgrade key. Unless if they changed it, the installer you download doesnt matter if its the regular or upgrade. Because both installers were the same exact one (when i downloaded it this september, it may have changed.) Just have to read when it asks which key type, to select the correct one on drop down list. Bee_Sting Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Here's the thing I have this same problem since ED went to a 64bit. You have the 32bit key code same as I. From my understanding it won't work.
