txmtb Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Any feedback on FPS yet? I'm still on 13.9 because anything after that caused a FPS hit that wasn't needed. streakeagle Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 From here: http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=34006988 beta 9.5 is 13.250, these are 13.251 they are basically the same per AMD. So the 13.11 beta is actually newer than the 13.12 WHQL, which is just a slightly tweaked beta 9.5 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Mustang Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 Mantle? My guess is this will come early next year in the form of a beta driver.
SkateZilla Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 13.2 Should be WHQL Version of 13.11 Beta 9.5, Slightly newer Version and File Dates though. txmtb Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Same issues I've had with the last beta's. 5-6 FPS drop sitting on the runway with identical settings. Doesn't seem too bad but that's around a 25% drop from 13.9. txmtb Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) It was actually in 1.2.6, I'm still installing 1.2.7. I test every release using the same mission that I found on here, benchmark.miz. There is no moving in the pit, only the external aircraft are, so it always yields the same results. Every release since 13.9 has seen the FPS drop from 24-25 to 19-20. 13.12 today was 17-18, went back to 13.9 and FPS went back up to 24-25. I always remove the old drivers/CCC and run DriverSweeper from 3D Guru to clean everything out, then install the new one and configure CCC the same. Hmm, maybe I should rollback to 13.9 then (currently on 13.10) although you never know if that might have negative effects in other games. Actually I remember that we can just drop the dll in the game folder to use a different version. For 32-bit games using DX9 it's atiumdag.dll and for 64-bit atiumd64.dll . I'll try that with some different versions sometime and see which works best. Perhaps we could get a sticky somewhere prominent where people who've done this can report which driver gives the best results with their GPU (I've got a 6950 (unlocked to 6970) so my results won't be of much use to people with other cards)? javelina1 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 was considering updating my driver to 13.12. what's the verdict? Do we take a slight FPS hit? Things working ok with DCS 1.2.7? I'm using an HD7870.
