dburne Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 So I maybe going a little against the grain here, especially as I just ordered the MFG's and am excited as all get out... If you are still fairly new to flight sims, and have never had rudder pedals, you may want to consider a cheaper set like the Saitek's to get your feet wet with. You would certainly get them a lot sooner, and would get used to using rudder pedals and have them available pretty quickly. If on the other hand, you have been flight simming for a while already and know you are going to stick with flight simming long term, and can put up with the wait to both save for them and the delivery time, then by all means I would consider the MFG's about the best choice one could make. I have been flight simming on the PC for more years than I care to remember, and know I will continue to do so for as many years as I can, so it was really a no brainer for me. The Saitek's served me well, and now I am ready for a really great set of pedals. Harle Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Hi guys, currently I have a X55 hotas setup but no rudder pedals at all. I'm fine with fighter jets, but ever since I bought Ka-50 and Huey I find them almost impossible to control, so I'm thinking now I need rudder pedals. Money is tight so I was looking at Saitek pedals for £99 (Amazon). Do you guys think the MFG pedals are so much better that I'm better off saving a bit more and getting them straight off and not bothering with cheaper pedals? I don't want to be disappointed, the missus would kill me! dburne Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 The more I learn with Black Shark and the more I use my rudders for fine adjustments ( like when aiming), the more I am really looking forward to getting the Crosswinds. My Saitek's seem to be somewhat touchy when trying to make fine adjustments. Guess I could try putting a little more curve in to see if that helps while I wait for Dec. to get here. My Saitek's seem to be somewhat touchy when trying to make fine adjustments. Guess I could try putting a little more curve in to see if that helps while I wait for Dec. to get here. I hadn't much time for testing my Crosswinds after getting them, but the first module i tested was the Mi-8. I replaced my old simped f16 pro pedals and i was positive surprised how easy it is with the Crosswinds to balance the chopper. There is nearly no centering force, my feed went intuitively to the right position and it was very comfortable to fly with them compared to my old pedals. One of my best purchase for helicopter flying, will test the other cam profiles for Jet flying once i have time for it. Now i have to save more money for a Komodo Sim cyclic and collective so i can get rid of my stupid warthog. DaveRindner Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 OmiGod. Thats not 'Some Assembly Required." Thats "Kit Assembly. Some engineering skills required." Couldn't they just ship the thing assembled?
bjsracer Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I've had mine for a week now. Shipping was speedy, as stated previously, tracking had it "sitting" in Singapore for what seemed an age, turned into a nice surprise when it just turned up. :D The re-assembly was as simple as watching a couple of videos, but they had been ingrained anyway... 5 min to put it back together. PC setup as well was simple and only required some tweaking, explained just as clearly in some more of Milan's videos. Best thing I could have bought, makes flying so much smoother and way more fun than my previous G940 set. Thanks Milan for an awesome piece of kit, hardest thing now is fitting in time to try all my flight sims with the new gear.
