Cowl flaps in the Corsair don't work like that. They work exactly as it's already mapped, by holding the lever until the desired position is reached. The only controls that ought to be set as an axis but currently aren't are the flaps, gear, wing fold, and tail hook, all of which would work like the supercharger and mixture handles.

Some initial testing ref optimisation by this weeks update seems positive, with VRAM usage down by around 2GB whilst in VR

anyone tried out the new updated FFB trim and is it more in line with other WW2 birds in DCS?

Ugra-Media really is the HeatBlur of maps. Impressive! Looking forward to the addition of Amiens Prison in the future! Your work is fantastic!

Air superiorty and air interception have a fair bit of mission overlap and the lines get blurred pretty easily. But primarily because the MiG-31 is really not expected to mix it up in WVR it's considered more intercept then air superiority, although you certainly can use it to establish air superioty in reality, and an air superiority fighter can generally do air intercept pretty work, because of it's dedicated air to air role Usually being a dedicated air superiorty fighter means killing stuff in an Air to air environment is the primary focused role of the aircraft where you need both BVR and WVR, using both medium and short range missile, and to out fly and fight any opponent in those arenas. So typically that means air to air dedicated, manuverable, fast, internal gun, short and medium range missiles both radar and IR guided. Being able to do patrols to maintain airspace control. (These don't need to be long patrols if you have close bases and quick turn around times)

ED, On first impressions, short of a few issues like IFF for MP (this as i say to all dev's on any module has to be a day one release feature these days) and the att hold for autopilot and few other niggles I think ED have done a great job with the fulcrum. Its alot of fun to "fly", brings a much needed improvement over the Mig21 in terms of Gen 4 for the red side and on superficial play looks and feels great. Night 1 a solid 6 hours of learning the basics, circuits, handling capabilities, playing around with rudder and splitting the throttles, high alpha moves and navigation systems, zero vis landing etc to get a really good feel for it, its instant nose authority and sustained speeds ingame for rate fights etc i noticed the engines can flame out in certain conditions which "auto relight" with windmilling and throttle to idle. I thought I will move onto the emergency procedures post learning the radar and attack. Night 2 of learning its A2A radar, and ground delivery modes all seem good, well worth highlighting the IFF friend and foe lock that i see most people complaining about cannot lock on (when testing say and trying to lock a friend). Night 3, starting to take a deeper dive and here comes the wall, there isnt any. Past superficial play and once going into emergency regimes i note alot of the panels and features are not selectable and do not work. I've worked through the manual and note they say not available. So none of the Emergency control panel works such as ramp retraction, air relight left and right, ab emergency cut off, fuel shut off left and right, they are all listed as not available. I note other features such as the feel control unit states not implemented yet, a clear difference. Considering the heritage of what DCS Full fidelty means and i refer to modules such as the A10C or the KA50, there clearly is a large gap in what full fidelity means and what concerns me is the engine/model behind this. If this is the final state of the Emergency control panel and other panels not available one could very easily interpret that the back system for this is not there also re damage to systems? Please could you clarify if this is the new standard of full fidelity because if this is the case its a very clear departure from past modules for example in the A10C i can literally control all aspects which actually during play is super useful when taking damage can manage the failures and in alot of ways the A10C is still the gold standard all those years ago. If the manual is correct and these are not going to be available i would suggest a rebrand to Mid fidelity. Look forward to the clarification, hopefully this is just a translation issue and the systems will be modelled. This is not a "hate post", far from it, as i said really enjoying what it brings to the game and recommend people buy it but just seeking the direction of this module and futures ones like it (as in conversions from FC3 re F15C).

Pimax X5, Pimax X8, Pimax Super Crystal, Quest 3 - the same problem! Internal reflections are exaggerated. Thank you ED!

Hi. Maybe I am just repeating what some folks already pointed out but keybinding for Rocket box arm/safe and Rocket box single/auto would be really nice. Another one I'd really like is assign the cowls flaps to an axis, like the P47. Thanks for the beautiful work Magnitude. Have a nice day all.

Following check list procedure am unable to get HSI and ADI to work after the 15 sec mag&comp input. They work only if generating from ME in the air.

Hello, This is obviously a very low-priority item, but today I did some aerobatics when my right engine decided to quit, and in fly-by view (F3) I noticed 2 very distinct smoke trails, instead of one. This happened after a fairly long test flight, so the track is also long (1 hour) and too large to share directly. Hence this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fFcCKIh-nblDFK6W6Lv8kzYZNnflfsoe/view?usp=sharing Thanks.

The update pays special attention to the islands, each of which has its own airfield, ready for use in missions: Alderney Island is the northernmost of the Channel Islands. Guernsey Island is an important strategic point. Like Jersey, the island became part of the Atlantic Wall. Jersey Island is the largest of the Channel Islands, with an area of 116 km2. From July 1, 1940 to May 9, 1945, the island was occupied by Germany. The islands' challenging weather conditions and interesting locations can add variety to your missions. These additions not only visually enrich the game world but also provide a wealth of new flight opportunities and interesting missions—whether taking off from the limited runways of island airfields or operations around iconic fortifications steeped in history.

As stated in my signature, I fly in VR using a Varjo Aero. The default pilot position unpaused can be seen in this screenshot. The shoulder strap clips through the ejection seat. I specified "unpaused" earlier, because when paused (for example using the ESC menu), the pilot model flips into place again becoming unclipped. This is immediately obvious when looking over your shoulder in VR and pressing ESC a few times.

Did some recent update broke elevator trim in P-51D?
milo85 replied to milo85's topic in General Bugs
Yup, it doesn't make much sense but indeed the setting that was messing up my elevator trim (and nothing else) was FF (guess it was on by default on a new PC). When I went to Settings > Misc. and unticked the Force Feedback checkbox the problem is was gone. -
Having paid all the modules and then being thrown out of DCS for such an absurd reason is really a bummer. Why the hack is DCS permanently checking the status of a client by using a i386 computer connected to a 56k modem, standing somewhere in a wet cellar, when the authorization is anyway determined when starting up DCS? I mean, this is simply rediculos in my opinion and ED should really re-think this strategy. I am upset everytime I have a mission opened in the mission editor and then DCS quits without having me saved the mission. But anyway silverdevil, thanks for digging into the logs, much appreciated!

Alright, let's roll! As requested today, England. The DCS: Normandy 2.0 update will add new original objects and islands with airfields. Today we'll show you key objects of England and the islands, which have received significant detail. Each of these objects not only decorates the map but also serves as an important tactical and navigational landmark. Dover Castle is one of the most famous and largest castles in England. It has long been considered the "Key to England." Citadel Western Heights is a powerful fortification in Dover. The Citadel contained barracks, stores, and magazines arrayed around a large parade ground. It later housed a prison. Western Heights of Dover is a complex of defensive fortifications with a rich history. Royal Hospital Haslar is a historic naval hospital in Gosport. During World War II, the hospital established the country's first blood bank, treated casualties from the Normandy landings, and deployed clinicians to field hospitals in Europe and the Far East. It was also a key medical supplies center for the fleet. St. James Hospital is another important infrastructure facility and is popularly known as Jimmy's. HMP Winchester is a prison in Winchester. Its shape makes it easily recognizable from above.

Looks like FSR4 is starting to also work on RDNA 2 & 3 Cards. For now it would require Optiscaler and some dll swaps but eventually it couod become official driver implementation... https://www.guru3d.com/story/amd-fsr-4-unofficially-enabled-on-older-radeon-gpus-via-leaked-int8-dll/

I can’t get the Aekran system set to English, or maybe I just can’t find the option. In Matt’s video you can see that his Aekran is in English. In the Special tab, I’ve set the cockpit to English.

Ok, found it! Go to Settings > Special > UH-1H and untick Autopilot Availability checkbox.
