I am onto something. I managed to get the ACFS to work, but it implied some very specific settings, even with the JustFlyIt profile for the Mig-29 ... basically those in red, and more specifically prolly those in yellow (only showing elevator here, but assume same setting for ailerons) i have tried using these setting with my personal profile, but not only this is way too strong, but also some other settings seems to interfere. As a temporary solution, I now simply cold start with this profile, and switch to my favorite profile as part of my take off check list. It would be great if ED implemented an option to simply exclude the FFB interaction with the AFCS test though, because this get very complicated. for example, in the instant action cold start there is some wind (24kmh) that in my FFBeast telemetry also causes the AOA to go from -5 to +20 degree... since I have some effects linked to the AOA stall shake, this also creates some force in the stick on the ground, prolly making the AFCS auto test to fail.

When fully loaded, would I be correct in assuming that there needed to be a decent headwind, with the ship heading into the sea wind at say 20+ knots?

Saboteur - Trigger bugs?

I couldn't replicate this at first, but I believe I've found what was going wrong. I made some changes in the trigger logic, and it should be okay now. I tested a few times and it works. I'll try to go through multiple scenarios. Hey Don, I loaded up your sandbox last night but was a little confused as to how to get the missions or what I was supposed to do once I got the plane up and flying? Do I do it all through the F10 menus or is each slot assigned a certain mission? I’m trying to use the mission and make a video for YouTube and show off how this all works. Thank you!! Oh and lastly is it okay if I change all the planes and helo’s on your other missions to Hotstart? Thank again!!!

So I was trying to place an AI F9F Panther to land on the Essex carrier in mission editor and I was able to place the second waypoint on the carrier so that the mod can land on it but once I select it to land, it just gone back to being a turning point when I click on the aircraft again Digital Combat Simulator 2025-09-21 08-25-55.mp4

It happens randomnly, the view goes in spyzoom all by itself (no button pressed) and do not get back to normal FOV (even if I exit the flight) I could record the behavior in this video: min 3.53 (I didn't press any button to go in spyzoom) Anyone else is getting this bug?

I don't think so. If chaff were considered useless, the soviet combat manuals of the 1980-90s wouldn't have had such extensive sections devoted to chaff countermeasures tactics, both from aircraft dispensers and with special chaff rockets.

Mission editor is getting hung up when loading .miz files, doesn't matter what map is being used. Exact point is "Terrain Graphics Init: 97, 'map name'.ng5". Known issue? Any fix? I've tried the repair facility twice with no change.

Catapults on a Fleet Carrier are for launching aircraft in full load, zero wind conditions and are much slower turn over than fly off. A fully loaded Corsair can T/O from spawn position at the island with no problem. Taxi back was not done on a Carrier. It was pushed back by a crew, but if you must, then either reverse down the deck, or have the Ship stationary with no wind, then turn round and indulge your fantasy. Interesting fact: Essex Class Carriers were desighned to launch stern first if required by circumstances. ..

Is there a way to please make the aerodrome list in the DTC interface in an alphabetical order? Right now, selecting the proper airfield is a true chore, as they'reall over the list without any concievable ranking. I have so far only tested it on CWG. Thanks.

investigating Radar losing lock way too easy in all modes.

There are many comments like yours on many different forums, and I agree. The general comment is that the MiG-29's radar is useless. IR mode doesn't work well either; it's unusual for it not to detect a target until it's right above you, against the sky and in clear view. What use is this system when it's easier to detect a target visually? Regarding the radar, the FHS or RHS aspect setting doesn't matter, or the radar is in auto mode... as you say, it's incapable of locking onto a target in close vertical mode, even if you're seeing the target right in front of you. I also agree that you can lock onto a target (which is difficult since if it's not close, the radar can't see it), you fire your missile, you track it well with the nose of your aircraft, aiming where it should be, and it turns out that when the target approaches head-on, the lock is lost and the missile is lost... just before impact. The RWR is as if it didn't exist. I suppose that in reality it may be like that, but they could have warned that the systems are toys, because it is somewhat disappointing. That's my feeling, and it's a shame because I like the plane, the flight model, textures, etc., but you feel helpless in it. The GCI that guides you to the objective is very necessary for this plane. We were all hoping for a RedFor capable of taking on BlueFor in multiplayer, but this MiG-29 is too old.
