Yes, ED hinted at the functionality coming to their other modules too, so hopefully we will get working visors for all ED modules on MiG-29's launch day! Yeah for ED modules I put gamma at 1.6 (during daytime missions) to put the colours and brightness of the outside world while looking outside in the cockpit, at the same level than external view is when gamma is at 2.2. DCS lighting is weird... With working visors such shenanigans will no longer be needed.

Hi all, I just bought a brand new Pimax Crystal Light to replace my HP Reverb G2, and I am a bit struggling with the settings, between PimaxPlay, OpenXR in game settings, DCS, ... So I have a few questions below, thanks for your help ! My PC : Windows 11, Intel i9-10900K, 32 Gb RAM, nVidia RTX 3090 Frequency / FPS PimaxPlay : 90 Hz Refresh Rate, half-framerate set to OFF DCS : Max FPS set to 45 Question : is it the right wait to do, or better to set Half-framerate to ON in PimaxPlay and Max FPS to 90 in DCS ? Upscaling / Quality PimaxPlay : Image Quality : 0.75 (Medium) GPU Upscaling : None (I guess that 0.75 Image Quality is already upscaling ???) Sharpness : 0.4 DCS : Pixel Density : 1.0 Foveated View : I am trying to use QuadViews : PimaxPlay : Quadviews settings : Balanced Pimax Central Priority Rendering : Balanced DCS : Use QuadViews : OFF Eye Tracking : OFF Question : if I try to set Use Quadviews : ON in DCS, I have no image in the helmet (only the single image copy on main monitor) Am I setting this correctly ? Thanks for your help on my questions, and if you have any advice about my overall set-up of parameters, feel free to reply Chris

Save a LOT of people a LOT of grief, please.

Hello, Thank you for all the replies. I had a different HOTAS back in 2014 when I first scraped the surface of the sim, it was a lot different back then, to be honest, I did not have the patience, and the attention to detail I have now, and even if my HOTAS had not broken down, I would have still quit trying, as my first module was A-10C, and even though it is considered to be a "beginner friendly" full fidelity module, I was basically banging my head against a brick wall, when I should have read a manual. Now, with the FC2024 it's a whole lot more easier to get a hang of things, and VR just makes the whole experience so much more immersive, than having three screens and TrackIR. As Raven said, I'll be re-learning take off's, landings and basic manouvers, before even thinking about any of the advanced stuff. Thank you so much for all the tips, I actually found a pack of pre-made profiles for the Flaming Cliffs 3 aircraft's, so that helps a lot (in case anyone else is/was in my situation, here' a link to a pre-made pack of profiles: https://steamcommunity.com/linkfilter/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fdrive.google.com%2Fdrive%2Fmobile%2Ffolders%2F1g7op9YxNbWi8fogam0tK0yer1rRCLe7A%3Fusp%3Ddrive_open ). I still have to memorize all the button configs, so that will take a while, haha. Thank you all again for helping me out, I truly appreciate the help! One step at a time. Happy flying! -
TROOPS IN CONTACT! (V10 released, now on github)
fargo007 replied to fargo007's topic in User Created Missions General
I'd like to ask how exactly you guys are using it. Single player, multiplayer? Is anyone using the SRS-STTS features (e.g. having the sounds play from dedicated server)? -
Yeah. With a high value FOV, any hour near noon is quite harsh on the eyes inside the Apache to the point that any mission that features a midday or close mission start time becomes unattractive. Gamma on my end is at 2.0 (-0.2 from default). Black levels are low on my monitor for taste and there is no washed out colors look on my image (calibrated monitor for work). Still is pretty harsh on the eyes.

nope, never did and I recommend no one to do that, because... aviation things. There is no need to be anything in ye ole deutsche sprache. Beside your english is not the yellow from the egg and you use the tutorials a lot. So, thats not the reason for having german Bettyin Mig-29G(!)

by the use of umlaut letter I presume that your entire interface is in German so... Tschüss

One ide I have from you point out the situation is that the flight enters big enough trigger area where if - whole group enters the area is continues as part of the coalition else only part of the group enters - is a fail/deviation. I bet we are the same generation where not once played a single player campaign due to the lack of MMORPG and Multiplayer at all so there was many missions where you must take a position or jump off an area in order to proceed with the mission, otherwise is a failure. -
This somewhat exists already It was apparent from the get go that DCS navigation data is woefully incomplete... So I made a system to overwrite the default stuff (airports etc). I agree though, we shall see where the future takes us. Certainly making it useful and useable is the goal.

Dassault was very secretive for years, but they now officially licence add-ons for the mainstream civil flight simulator, including an upcoming Rafale. https://www.thestore-dassault-aviation.com/fr/simulation They also announced DCS as "coming soon". So far Jaguar and Alpha Jet are available, Rafale is coming - all for this other sim. I know I am dreaming but would love to see them come to DCS as well. And why not the 2000-5 too? Dassault at least seems to have opened the door a lot more, and realized perhaps that there is demand for their products in digital form in consumer flight sims.

Just tested, works on my end. Could you supply a track please? Given the extreme terrain, I suspect you simply forgot to enter the target altitude in the WRCS panel (through Bombing Tool if you are flying with Jester).

Wow, I mean WOW, 11 years!! There was a time a while ago when it was 7 years, then people started saying 8 years (neither of them true, make it 3-4), but apparently the time it took grows and grows every time someone uses that for an argument and now it's peaked at nothing less than 11 years!! WOWWW , it's the miracle of the M3 Corsair's ever growing development time . Next time I hear about it I'd expect it took not less than 15 years You'll as always so positive, but they've already said a MiG-21Bis v2.0 in on the works and it'll be coming. Obviously the new module should be using a tool, like RSBN is, unavailable at the time of release back in 2013. What else do you need to know? the current module has it's own RSBN system and it's working and usable.

F-4E / Jester Radar – How to Make Him Track a Contact Without Locking?
Zabuzard replied to Zev's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Yes, this feature is called "focus" in Jester for the F4. You can use the context command (V) or the Jester Wheel for it. Details in the manual: https://f4.manuals.heatblur.se/jester/combat/radar.html#target-selection -
