Yurgon started following Mission 2 always crashes
-
Your dcs.log would indeed be great! If you find a valid track file in Saved Games\DCS\Tracks\LastMissionTrack.trk, that might also help (if it's too big for the forum, you could use Google Drive/OneDrive etc and just post the link to the uploaded file here). Do you run any mods in your DCS? TacView, SRS and a few other super common mods should be fine, but flyable modules, texture and sound mods have caused all sorts of problems in the past and in very unexpected areas. If you have any mods or leftovers, removing them might be worth a try, along a DCS Repair from the launcher.

I wish that were true. Evidently, it is not, given that almost all third parties do not use Leap. Only partially the Kiowa and the Phantom (which recently implemented it). I made a request to the Heatblur developers to implement it in Tomcat, but the response was that it is not so trivial and they would have to remodel many things (I hope in the F-14UB). Just to clarify, when I talk about implementation, I mean that by setting Leap with the No pointer option from the Use Pointer menu, you can interact naturally with levers and buttons without having to make strange movements with your hands to simulate the controllers.

[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
=Andre= replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hmm... not sure what you mean under OB... I thought ED got rid of the OB branch. Maybe I missed something. Basically, DCS version is not relevant as the tool changes one SimShaker for Aviators file only in the SimShaker for Aviators installation folder. The tool supports both SimShaker for Aviators beta and stable versions. -
Is there any known Mig 29A variant known to fly or have flown with the NS430 we have in DCS? The nav/radio addon I see online is from a different type. Example is from a Polish AF Mig 29. Seems like a split (left + right) installed device. Thanks, Wiwa

Campaign description
MnMailman replied to Sandman Simulations's topic in DCS: F/A-18C & DCS: F-14 Iron Tide Campaign
Great to see the release! Looking forward to playing it. Best thing about this type of campaign is that each time the player plays them, they can be different. Flaming Sunrise is great too. Now how about one for the Kola map? It's a tremendous amount of work I know, but one can always hope. -
Already reported bug. Like you say, works in single player but not on multiplayer. Cheers Edit: darn, can't find the right thread but I'm sure it has been reported...

Potential mistake in MiG-29A FAQ about R-27ER and R-27ET
kotor633 replied to quantum97's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
This text, however, mentions the flanker. But regarding mixed seekers and BVR, it says the following: "A competent Flanker driver gets the first shot with three or four round salvo of long burn R-27 variants, with mixed seekers, leaving one or two remaining salvoes of BVR missiles on his rails" So, can we not rule out the possibility that it exists? The question is, is this something only used by the Russian Air Force? Or also in other countries that use the R-27 variants? For example, India? And was this possible with our FF Mig-29A? Aircraft external lights being kinda "broken" for gameplay purposes has been a thing since the first version of DCS afaik. It's one of those very unfortunate things that hold the DCS night environment back by a lot despite being a relatively easy fix. I've made a lot of bug reports and wishlist entries about it already. Maybe upvvote, like, comment on it in order to get ED's attention. Despite the topic's headline it also covers AI aircraft light settings.

Thankyou will try that later

draconus started following ED's next helicopter
-
It's universal like a Huey. Although it started development and some production during end of the Cold War, most of its life it's NATO helicopter and spread worldwide, not a WarPac. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PZL_W-3_Sokół#Operators

This would be such a cool addition! I wanted to post this myself. The intensity of the vibrations, the shaking of instruments and tilting of mirrors, the muzzle flash (especially at low light) would definitely add to the experience. If ED thinks it's too much, or ruining the game experience, they could just add an option for it in the special options menu. Here are a few more videos independently showing the same effect. The tilting mirror seems to be the norm, not the exception. Notice how always the right mirror moves (probably the vibrations through the canopy frame are locally hitting its resonance frequency).

Checked, it matches!

Ok I had no idea this file was available, is it on the same page as the latest stable and Beta release?

Question to Kaba: Is the AAA of Command & Control intended to be active from the start? I ingress fast and low, assuming it was going to be a level pass haul ass kinda deal (MK-82SE after all), but get sniped by either of the two ZSU-23s the moment I get in range. Checked on Tacview and I never went above 300' AGL. I see people mentioning they go active when you loiter but I don't even reach the target area without getting crossfired. Looking at the trigger it seems only the MANPADS are set up for loiter activation.

Is RSBN car compatible with RETURN mode?
Jef Costello replied to Michael-Fr's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
As far as I know RSBN beacon is similar to a Tacan. I don't think "RETURN" mode works for a RSBN, I suppose you need a PRGM in order to get "RETURN" mode working. -

okopanja started following English Manual: imrove localization
-
Small localization proposals for the manual: - Along the screenshots of westernized instruments, please provide screenshots of original Soviet instruments. - Also if the altitude/distance/speed are mentioned in feet/nm/knots, please also include converted metric values (users will understand better why they have weird values. - Provide names of switches and controls along labels in Russian.

It wasn't sorted. To this day the DCS Mosquito flings its tailwheel into the runway upon touchdown, something you can easily see the real aircraft does not do. That violent tail-down pitch when the main wheels touch down is a bug. I do not think this will ever be fixed, or any of the other outstanding bugs in ED WW2 aircraft. Enjoy them for what they are but treat it as a 1990s boxed game purchase: no updates, no patches, no nothing.

C-130J First Impressions by Growling Sidewinder
vincentb replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: C-130J
I'd love to understand a little more about the TAWS display. At around the 20:45 minute mark in the first impressions video, the herc is going straight towards a hill requiring it to pull up, yet the TAWS display only appears to show green in front of the aircraft. Should it not have indicated that terrain or am I missing something? Thanks! -

You can do a flight planning based on waypoints and fixes in the database. Also on some maps you can fly approaches.
