  1. Your statement is even more amusing, after all that has been said here, no one ever said anything of the sort. F-22 wont win wars by itself but I belive right or wrong, whoever owns an F-22 fleet has pretty much the rest needed for doing it. Not that I want to see something hapen to the point (because thats sad realy), but its a question of realism. "F-117's in 1991", "Bagdad", "most heavily defended city in the world " rings a bell? Would you believe it back then? And in the end the war could have gone to a standstill if the allies had breakup the coalition if Israel retaliated after the Scud attacks. All came to unity on the startegy, not one plane, although it helped. Humans still vanquish other humans, not machines. Manifestations symptomatic of sorrow after the fact all of us wont bow to the mighty flanker like this, is somewhat presumptuous. We all have different opinions and we are from different countries, you dont expect me or any other that is not a slav born to be in the same opinion, nor should you assume whoever doesnt, is an "unfortunate" american byproduct, COMRAD. :)

  2. the keepvid site is a little tricky to get use to. Probably because its providing a free service when you usually need payware softwares to capture these videos. So it does have its limitations. alright now back to your problem, did you remember to tye in .flv behind the name of the file you are trying to save? Also i clicked onyour link but didn't find a video, maybe it was a broken link? Also, i discovered that if you found a specific video by searching for it in youtube or google video and copied that into the keepvid site, it usually doesn't work since it has a very long url. You need the actual link with the vid ID for example www.youtube.com/airplanevideo (fake address so don't click on it) rather than www.youtube.com/search=bla_bla_bla...air+plane+video..etc. I hope this makes sense.

  4. lol there you go son- hang on to that last thread you have lol.. Lose the envy & jealousy, son. Make a life for yourself. Same for the rest of you who are so woefully inept that you need to change the topic to health care, voting fraud, and whatever that other anti-war cause was.. That horse died 40 yrs ago. Imagine-a Canadian criticizing someone else's health care system, LMAO

  5. I know virtualy nothing on optics and electromagnetism, but I heard intensity of emmition, and then of reflection, decreases with the square of the distance, thus is not proportional like you said. The chances of detection at 40KM is still very low, as an example to demonstrate this, the Raptor has to swich RCS augmentation in peace time to be detected by airport radars, and they are pretty damn potent. The local airport radar can track aircraft almost all the way to madrid.

  6. Let face it: the real workhorse in the Yugo/Iraq wars was the F-16 and in smaller numbers the F-15 heavy supported by AWACS together with the EW aircrafts (electronic Warfare) and even then tons of cruise missiles were fired to do the job which was supposed to be done by F117/B2 (even the tactical nuclear stock was used for that, even the B52 came up). It was also kind of an embarrassing situation having the so stealth B2 surrounded by a shield of conventional fighters (not less than a tenfold) of all kind to protect it. Anyway the F-22 will be the first fighter plane ever who will rely for 100% on his computer. (If his main-computer shuts down the plane goes down) As being a programmer for about 14 years, I have my doubts, forgive me for that! Let’s hope his backup computer doesn’t works with a Sony battery. And maybe after the B2 and the F117 disaster this time the F-22 project will work.

  7. Well the States are a walking distance from where I lvie I know plenty of people there and they are living well. You can work at Walmart and still have a house. They live better than the(eastern bloc) any point in the history of the whole Eastern Bloc. Actualy whose ahead of them. Those few Scandinvian countries and thats it. And Luxemburg shouldnt even count:P Anyway you seem to imply your a US citizen so you should know better. And because US spends that much they are the only superpower. And will remain that way for a very long time. I like the States, sure I dont like some things, but thats in every country. The fact that they can spend nearly half a trillion $ on military and still be able to drive a 10mpg Cheavy down the high way and then cook a nice steak on that propane BBQ proves to me that they are doing somethig right. But I still dont see the damn F22 fly through any radar :P And sure the F22 fans seem to acknowledge that now :P

  8. They -can- afford it, period. And what do you mean 'We'? ARE you an american taxpayer? The F-22 is an aircraft designed to meet future threats, and wether they happen to arise or not is no reason to -not- build it. This isn't some piece of kit that'll just simply fail. It's something 'in the arsenal'. And what are armies? They're arsenals. And you had -better- update that arsenal or else! Note that when your arsenal is more expensive, you also tend to have better combat power! The two are quite closely related. So, either you like being a superpower, or you like to claim you once -were- a superpower. It's really quite that simple. As for benefits issues and whatnot, I suggest you look elsewhere, not military spending. It is elsewhere that such needs are shoved off ... because there's definitely plenty of money going other places.

  9. Nobody who has any neurons in his cranium is telling you it's a walk in the park to fly and fight in the Raptor... at least I'm not going to tell you that. What I am going to tell you is that it's easier to fly and fight in that kind of environment - or any, for that matter, if you do it in a F-22 as opposed to an F-15. As I've said before, regarding the Raptor - the sheer increase in SA that you get when you fly that bird is worth the price, then put a RCS on it the size of a medium sized marble, and we've got the icing on the cake. Now stick a couple of Slammer D's on it and we've got a cherry on top. The Eagle's the best plane I've ever flown, but it's no Raptor - the Raptor lives up to it's name as a 5th gen jet. I am, however, not blind to it's shortcomings - I know them like I know the shortcomings of the Eagle. Any pilot wants to know the best and worst about their jet.

  10. Well Americans live well enough to be able to afford 350million jets. I doubt a couple of fleets of F22s will put a dent in American living standarts. ;)

  11. Well, the pilot, you might not care about the cost. However I do. And do you know who I am? I am a TAXPAYER. You, the pilot (if you are a military pilot) work for me. It is not the other way around. You the pilot might not care about the cost, but I am told I will not have a social security benefits when I retire. And that is after me paying in that fund for several decades. And my kids, and kids of my friends might not be able to afford to go to university. And gas is more expansive every day, so I can not afford … You might not give a “feck” about the cost, however Soviet Union collapsed economically. It was the COST that brought them down.

  12. BGP, My guess would be that if your roomies saw you sweeping the interior of your aircraft with suttle head movements (leaning forward slightly to get a better view of the ground over your cockpit), they'd finally understand and leave you be, or become curious. Headgear is not that obtrusive. Just a clip on your favorite cap (or mic/headset). However, clipping vector sensors on mic/headset will tend to give you the look of an insect.

  13. way to get all high and mighty ... lmao and yes , I was polite , just stating my opinion there bud you are the one trying to modify the game in a way that the person using this mod would gain an unfair advantage over others not using it , so do get off your high horse and put yourself in the shoes of anyone reading what you are trying to acomplish thru LUA . and don't compare what you said to those touchscreens witch are just keyboard emulators , granted they do a lot for immersion and userfriendliness but they by no means achieve a "godlike locking capability" like what you are trying to do . GG , saying "that if he shares the mod , then it's not really cheating" doesn't make it OK in my opinion . Nor does saying the technology exist now in this or that plane ... Of course I am only a customer of ED , I would really much like for ED and/or the community to give stricter guidelines as to what can be modded or not . I think that for the continued future of the lockon multiplayer community that the game must remain the same for everyone . let's say what pilotasso is trying to do works and think of a new pilot that just bought the game who realises that there are people flying out there with LUA exports on multiple screens who can track his every move and keep him locked at will , what that would do to the community ... I appreciate and salute anyone's work that promotes lockon and the community , I just don't think cheating qualifies.... Keeping the game real and fair is what "suits my character" pilotasso . Cheaters have ruined many games online , I would hate to see it happen to lockon . Regards

  14. fudd, only caught you on comms for a sec tonight, but this is why this happens. systems that are .. cpu slow low memory (less than 1024mb) have Long Loading times. during the Long Loading Time, the game sees you as 'inactive' and while you are loading you end up being timed out. this some how tricks the game into thinking you have to hit S to start like single player or hosting.. the end result is you either hit S, then it automaticly goes back to menu or you hit S and you are not connected but still flying in the mission. so moding the config is only an attempt to cover over the problem. upgrading ram will most likely help and eliminate the problem compleatly.
