  4. Hi Shalnoi=07= The AdA mod v1.00 / 1.01 (same mod, one for Modman until v6.0.0.x / other for ModMan v6.2.0.0 & higher) is out since nov. 11, 2007 :) The AdA mod v2.00 has no release date planned at this time. My best guess is that there is still several weeks (months ??) of work to do (modding, skinning, testing...) The dev team is considering an intermediate version (1.2 ??) but no decision has been made for now. Cheers, Az'

  6. Hi guys ! I'm polish living in France. Since December 07 i'm building a SU25 cockpit. The project is to build as realistic cockpit as is possible with Lockon's Export lua file. The interface between my pit and Lockon is made using Opencockpit's Input/Output cards. I use two throttle command for both engines, one from X52 hotas the second from my old X45. I'm not write or speak English since long, long time ago, so i post under some pictures easiest to understand than my horrific english... :helpsmilie: As you see my pit i still under construction :

  7. Part of the way through a first attempt at a video. Trying to put together a realtime video of a mission from an Su-25 campaign I posted here a long time ago & thought I maight as well post what I've got. Feedback welcome :-) Bit of a shame that a lot of the tracers etc disappeared in the conversion...

  8. Got your paper bags ready ? As a Wellingtonian that flies (as a pasenger) into & out of Wellington fairly regularly, it seems to me that the take offs and landings (& low speed, low altitude flight generaly) in LO/FC - esp given the 2 planes with great AFM's - were missing something, and I just stumbled across a vid that nicely captures what it is : (Landings at Wellington airport) Seems to me it would add a lot to fixed wing landings - & trying to hover near terrain, buildings & (when they become collidable) trees ...

  10. Isnt our atmosphere random? Atleast from what we know about it scientifically, as in not much. Heck, we cannot even predict the weather right:music_whistling: By the way, I have always wondered what your name meant (GGTharos), does it stand for your real name or something? Just curious.

  12. I haven't seen an arcade shooter simulate weapons particularly well yet. And if you want to be closer to reality, you need to simulate more battlefield and less air. Wind effects are a minor nuissance if that. Nothing more. I'll say it again: There are FAR more important things to get around to first. ;) Really, all this turbulence etc can just be simulated stochastically ... you roll a die, you get some gusting force applied to your plane if you exceed some % determined by local meteo data ... that's basically all it amounts to. Except when you start getting into the problem of applying these things consistently in MP, and to the AI, AI's reaction to it - oh wait. You wouldn't need to simulate aaaany of that for the AI since er, externally you'd really see no difference and it would save CPU cycles to not bother with it. Starting to see what I'm getting at yet? ;) COMBAT. Not air. ;)

  13. Fella's chill out.... As it's constantly pointed out... most of you don't know much about what it's like to operate a military weapons platform. Make no mistake… there is a lot of knowledge about stuff share on gaming boards. But most of it has nothing to do with facts about combat aviation. Unless you have the hours in the jet… you just don’t know. Reading public data and watching TV shows ain’t gonna cut it Some of you guys keep talking about realism as if you know what it's all about. To be sure, there is so much more to it then adding a variable to the game’s wind model. The weather model in Lock ON seems pretty cool. It meets the needs of the game. SURE anything could be improved on. There is nothing wrong with improvement and innovation. This is something that this development teams keeps doing with every product release. From reading about the product…MS Flight Sim games seem to get weather data imported into it to give the user the real-time conditions for the area the player is flying in. It has nothing to do with making the game more realistic. It's just a function of what the game models. In this case the game has the extra cpu cycles to translate the weather data. Is it realistic? No. Does it add Realism? No. Does it affect playability? No. If you guys want gust added to the game and if the developers want gusting winds then maybe they will add them. But it will not have a thing to do with this fantastic fantasy some of you guy have with this concept call realism. Remember, if you are sitting behind a desk pushing keys with one hand and marveling at how your pc is rendering the artwork on your screen... It ain't about realism. Some one asked why do you use joysticks… it’s simple because the workload to interface that game would be much harder then need be. There seems to be a camp of people that think HARD is real. That idea is a result of the often seen lack of understanding about what it’s like. And that’s fine. A game forum is not a classroom so it’s not anyone’s job to teach you to think any different. The point of questioning if gust are needed and if they would ever pose a problem to the player if the gust get near the limits is pretty simple. You don't want it to affect playability making the game too hard for players to enjoy. Look, flying while looking at a screen and pushing a bunch of keys and clicking a mouse makes things hard enough. Thank goodness for the pause key, something that you can't do in the air. But more correctly... something that you don't need to do in the air. Up there your hours of training and academics help you stay ahead of the aircraft when the unexpected happens.... The workload on a sim can be much harder then the workload in some cockpits. With flying... it’s a seat of your pants feel. You can't feel with a desktop sim. So by trying to add everything that might happen in the air to a game may effect how the user enjoys the game. Where these products like Black Shark will shine the most is that they will have checklist items and procedures. Engine management, systems management and so one. This will be a great improvement from the past products where there was a lot of system mechanization. From the reading and the videos one can clearly see how different this game is going to be. The flying part is just that. It’s part of the game. Why make it harder then it needs to be. It is clear that these guys could model storm force winds as well as other MET items that would not allow you to stay aloft. But why waste the CPU cycles? This game should be fun; not so hard that user will just put it on the shelf or even worst…. as they read post from you hardcore heads out there whining about how you don’t like XYZ… and how this and that is not real... so much whining that they will not even buy it. This product is an amazing step forward for this product line… the past products have been fun…. this should not be any different.

  14. When I will finish this skins I will let you know. Still working on it. I would like to have two versions of skinpack. One for MIG-29A and MIG-29S. And one for MIG-29A - german. So I have to remove german cross from skin and so. Puco is also finishing with skins. So stay tuned :)

  15. Every feature which makes the simulation more realistic is a +. And i think adding gusting winds would make a big difference in flying in general. Actually this should be a standard feature of any flightsim...

  18. No, the stand-alone version is for the Rafale Mod The rafale mod has been released 2 days ago (tuesday ;)) This mod contains only the rafale (replace the Su33) and a reskinned Kuz :) So air refueling is available for the Rafale. Then, AdA Mod Dev Team and Rafale Team will release as soon as possible a little compatibility patch for AdA mod and Rafale Mod. like "we" (or Majesco, I don't remember exactly ^^) did for AdA Mod and Walmis'F15 :). After, The rafale will be included in the AdA Mod v2 (no release date, too much work to be done :D). And, in AdA Mod v2, the rafale will replace the Su33 (air refueling ok), and Mirage replace the Mig29 (no change with AdA v1, no air refueling for Mirages) Have a nice day ;)

  19. >Who would've thought a computer program can write better than most native English speakers? Well, even with English being my 'first' language, it's very believable! Personally I feel that padlock views match labels as immersion killers. Even snap views are in that same category, IMO. TrackIR was a great solution for me to increase the suspension of disbelief. That, combined with the 'view zoom' feature which I've mapped to my X52 Pro precision slider, works for me in offsetting the monitors lack of visual acuity. I even disable the Z-Axis in my TrackIR because I prefer the zoom function mapped to the throttle slider. -Surfer

  22. Weta if you bought a car and that car had to be serviced every 7 days would you still by it or would you look elsewhere for something better ? Do you pull that model off the shelf and play with it or does it just sit there ?? The game is dieing in the ass and we need to encourage more people to play not discourage them with BS software security. Software companies always run the risk of piracy but they are still able to make user friendly products. Rattler hit the nail on the head I think. S!

  23. Thanks a lot Yeniceri :) But you've got to know that you and the people working on LO at sim-mod.com caused me a couple of heart attacks those last months :D Could I get a one week notice before the release of your A-10 ? Just to have the time to get prepared... I might not survive this one otherwise ...:D Cheers :) Hub.

  28. First of all, it sounds like you're leaving the profile editor open when playing Lock On. You don't need to open this unless you're editing the profile. To load your profile ready for flight, you just need to right click on the joystick icon in the system tray and select the profile. You also say that you got the profile from Lockonfiles. You need to make sure that the key stroke configuration within the Lock On options matches those in the profile. For example, I have the air brake mapped to the large button on the thottle (in the centre of the rotary). In my Saitek profile, the button is mapped to the 'B' keystroke. In the Lock On options, the 'B' key is linked to the air brake command. You need to look in the profile using the profile editor and see what buttons are mapped to which keystrokes, then update the Lock On options accordingly. Otherwise, it might be best just to make your own joystick profile. I hope that's clear and/or helps! :P

  29. Did you select your device from the pull down menu before clearing all the commands? If you left it on Keyboard- you cleared all the commands to the game. You could possibly fix it by clicking that default button then starting over- not sure.
