(note to mods: look at the vid before you think of locking the thread because of this post :D) Once more, I should say that the flying at 20m exploit was successfully used IRL (at that part of the flight two Serbian MIGs from the splash two incident remained completely undetected). ==================== I am amazed by how lomac nicely models the life cycle of missiles. They get developed. Then used. Then imperfections are found, rendering them less and less usable against opponents who know of these imperfections. The missiles then need improvement, and further development. Yes, the exact ways these imperfections are manifested IRL and ILL (In Lockon Life :D) differ, but they always will. The simulation will never be perfect. While this is no reason to stop us striving for a more realistic model, once more I repeat that this should not stand in the way of enjoying what we have. One day the model will change (we hope), and we'll have to learn again how it works best, and how to defeat it best. Until then, we should accept what we have and try our best to achieve as much as we can in what is our reality.

  4. Looking to upgrade from trackir2 to trackir4. Looking forward to the improved function but realised the trackir4 sits differently on the monitor. I have a 30" TFT monitor and the panel width is a wopping 5cm! Will the arms that saddle the panel fit? Sorry for the litany of upstart questions....learning to love the game once more:) Edit - 30" TFT pics as requested page 2

  5. Я недавно играл в LO и столкнулся с одним интересным моментом. Во время одной из мисий надо было уничтожить А-10( миссию делал сам). Дак вот, лечу я на МиГе и вижу цель, лочу, пускаю ракету первый А-10 сбит, второй сбросил подвески и текать, я за ним, пустил 2 Р-73 промазал. Дальше было следующее: А-10 каким то чудом смог зайти мне в хвост и даже пустил АйМ-9. Народ А-10 в реальности может делать такие маневры или это упрощения разработчиков? Ведь А-10 это не истребитель:noexpression:

  9. Модель начал с нуля. В первой модели я сильно лопухнулся по неопытности и ушол от геометрии сильно. Щас 10 раз перепроверелил пересчитал все в норме.

  11. Pitbuilding Update Collective Stick and PCB making Finally got some time to work on the Left Rear wall and Collective stick today. I had to figure out how long the stick handle was going to be, and for that I had to first finish the Front Panel and attach it to the Front Pedestal. Then I could place the Left Lower Panel and Ejectionseat and the Left Rear Wall with collective Stick. Phuuh.!:music_whistling: Naturally I got so carried away while doing this I forgot to take pictures of (half) the pit assembled, but I promise to do so within the next few days... After finding the correct lengt for the collective handle I fixed the Collective switch box and just got started making the attachment for the collective break handle before bedtime arrived.. Collective Stick with the (un-finished) collective break handle. As you probaly can see from the pictures I have still got to file the ends round on the handle attaching plates. The Collective Stick "business end".! Here you see the axel that it pivots arround in the Left Rear Wall, and the box that will hold the Rotor Governor Control Handles) My first self made PCB..! This is just a rough test board that will connect all the LED's for backlighting the APU Panel. And also all the wires from the switches and rotaries. But now that I know how easy it is to etch PCB's I'll design a new one that also holds the 4-way switch and it's mechanics. OooH..! I have forgotten to tell you all..! I found a way to make the 4-way switch that actually is simple, feels right and WORKS..! Was going to keep it a secret untill I cuold show you pics of a working example, but now the secret is out..! DAMN ME..!:cry: I unsoldered some 39 pin IDE connectors from a broken computer mainboard I had. And after sweating and swearing over it for an hour or so, I finally found that the ONLY way to unsolder all 39 pins at once is with a industrial heat-gun (basicly a blow dryer on steroids). You will most likely need quite a few of these if your building a pit. Just to avoid having to un-screw hundreds of individual connections to do simple repairs or upgrades in the future.! So my advice is: Get one of those heat-guns, or buy them from an electronics suplier..! This board gathers all the wires from all switches, LED's, rotaries and so to a common place in the Left lower Panel. And I'll use standard IDE ribbon cable to route everything to the IOCards. Also it holds the resistors for the different LED's and relays to toggle the Backlight on and off.. Well that's all for now folks.. :pilotfly:

  14. Вся эта пестрая стритрейсерская атрибутика привлекает людей с несформировашимся вкусом, то есть в основном подростков. Большинство поклонников Локона выросло из этого. Хотя идею можно развить - сделать варианты для разных возрастных групп. Для взрослых - Локон, Для тинейджеров - что-то в духе нидфорспида или ладырейсига. Для детишек - посадить в кабины медвежат и слонят. Но, разумеется, это должно оставаться авиасимулятором, со всеми атрибутами присущими этому элитному жанру игрушек.
