  1. Hi, I think we should vote on some new scoring incentives. I have been thinking about this for a while. It just does not make any sence that some one who has a 1 to 1 kill ratio has a better chance at winning a point spread compared to some one who does not get hit as much. There should be a point system where every if you kill 10, 15, 20, aircraft with out getting hit there should be a bonus score. It just makes pure sence because we all know that if you kill tons of bandits and you die all of the time you still can win. There should be a point award to kill ratios. :joystick:

  6. I can 100% verify this goes on, i recorded a track in the a2g server a day or so ago (for testing the SIM-MOD A-10) and i witnessed certain people taking a bad hit and promptly quitting after smashing a load of targets, with no consequences. Shame, to do that just to look good on the stats......

  7. Re-centering Mechanism Here's an idea that I am working on to make the center point for Cyclic and Yaw axis controllable both mechanicly and Autopilot centerpoint wise.. The green botomplate follows the pedals arround the centerpoint. And the brakepads are fixed with a spring in the front, and another in the rear. Brakepads pivot around the blue peg in the rear. The springs should keep the mechanism slop-free.. The red actuator rotates arround a 4mm hole in the bottom and another (not shown in drawing) in the top. It is activated when I hit the recenter button on the stick. This triggers two events. 1. It sends a signal to the sim by SIOC to recenter the atopilot zeropoint. 2. it also triggers a relay from IOCard that opens up a 12V current to three solenoids (the kind that you use for remotely opening your trunk.. The after-marked kits are dirt cheap, and the solenoids are quite strong and reliable). These are set on all three axis (pitch, roll and yaw) and allow the stick to settle in a new physical zero-point. And it shouldn't be to hard to build from matereal that I have in my garage..?

  9. TorwaK, Whilst I agree that this isn't your issue, I've stopped flying on your server regularly because of this (in my opinion) exploit. After all, if I wish to fly around without anything to shoot, I can do that offline... However, don't get me wrong, i really do applaud the effort that you and your squadron put in to give the community a place to fly together.

  10. Noti there is some rule. If you take off, you have to land in real life. The point is how you'll land it depends on you. If you finished your mission you have to return your base and accomplish the mission. There is some part of people who quit the game after get shot, before "crash". They suppose we don't know it, however we record every track. ;) It happens especially at A2G server, even everybody knows those people from the forum. Just I ignore it cause its their "bungle". Mate I'm responsible only from server side problems, others just not my business.

  11. Torwak, i understand what you mean but at the same time from a logical point of view it makes sense to sacrifice these 10 points you get for landing and use the time instead to get more targets = more points than landing it doesnt really matter but if you want to make it really correct i would say "no landing - no points". and if people come up with e.g. "ohh my connection droped out" or the computer crashed" then its bad luck. just like having a system failure or an engine drop out, etc.

  13. I'd like to see some penalties for disconnects... I've been flying on the TuAF II server a few times and noticed a trend amongst a lot of pilots who are taking off and flying to target, firing all off their weapons and exiting the mission as soon as the weapons hit, only to rejoin 10 seconds later to take off in another fully armed aircraft... and so the cycle continues until there are no more targets. I understand that there are stats wars going on with the TuAF servers, but there have been a couple of times that I've joined for a casual flight only to find that EVERYTHING has been destroyed already, and there is still an hour to go before the mission cycles!

  21. Ok, my impressions from the event: I arrived Ahaus on saturday morning. The hall was full of PC systems and home build cockpits. The first ones from DCS team were Jim and his wife. A little bit later followed by Groove and Urze. After welcome each other I could do what I was come for. Groove recommended to start BS with immortality on. It was a great experience. The FM feels extremely right. (I have only experience as a glider pilot in RL) I had no doubt about because the SU25 in FC thought. For me it is what I was looking for and I`m very happy. From this aspect alone every flight will be different. Groove told me that a German helicopter pilot from the Bundeswehr tried BS on friday. Unfortunately I didn`t tried the reactions from the KA-50 internal systems with making mistakes while start up nor in flight. Groove showed me the DM. You can see that in the video. This is just a picture from the end of this KA-50: The triggers you can set in the ME can play sound files for example. This adds a lot of immersion in a mission. You can easily imagine what great, dynamic missions will be possible with that. Jim at his laptop: A great attraction was the monitor setup from Urze in combination with the xfighterseat. This is a little vid I made with a photo camera. It shows the damage model, rotor hub detail, some in flight scenes. (The resolution is only 320x240. Sorry for that guys. Thank you for not hating me. Maybe another one have better recordings...) http://rapidshare.com/files/105679190/LLTM08_Impressions_from_DCS_KA-50.wmv.html It`s now also available on YouTube: At the end of the my day at the LLTM08 Urze was asking me from where I come from. I told him that I came from Ratekau which is 400 km away from Ahaus. He was so impressed that I coming from so far away for playing BS that he gave me a cap and a shirt with the Flying Legends logo from Jim`s crate. I`m very proud of these 2 gifts Jim! Thank you guys for this great saturday.:pilotfly: Something I forgot to mention: - you can walk around if you don`t die after ejecting - you can save a track AFTER flying, like in IL2 series

  22. You don't need to talk in sentences, use Brevities instead. That's what they were invented for... Long babbling will only fill up your comms and deny your mates from calling out important bandit info, so keep it short.

  23. Airquake Reason Nr: 1) .... score making...being someone...proofing it by numbers overcomes the art of flying in wise intelligent way. Any objective becomes meaningless...honestly who cares or CAN care in airquake bout that. 2) .... respawning over and over.....what would happen if after u got shot down...and you are OUT.... at least for couple of minutes. The seriousity of that flight has no meaning at all sometimes. 3) .... game is very simple ...everyone can join...everyone can takeoff and shoot with no knowledge.....see falcon...there workload of whole mission is soo complex, that random online servers like ours even would not run that way. ..back in days i had once a idea to create one passworded server for squads...all with chance to meet in one com......kinda FO carrier server for LO....well wiered idea ..but has something in it... 4) ... and AWACS (realistic my a.....) whenever i see a AWACS server i see planes heading everythin what blinks up in MFD like flies around light....and that as low at possible.... 5) ... number of Slots....sometimes less is more... ..and MISSIONS sometimes the same...instead of wise made...overloaded.. 6) ... AND THATS the most important point: .. i guess everyone expierenced playing ego-shooters on online servers....OR/AND in squadmatches.... i think i dont have to ask what was really really more exciting and more tactical advanced....... dont fear setting up squadmatches cuz fo virtual egos...and repution crap .... simple as that. we all hate to loose...definitly ...but we all love to fight. :smilewink:

  24. Most of my training sorties are taken during bad weather (thunderstorms, turbulence, strong crosswing). I like fog because it makes you rely on your instruments until it becomes a second nature.

  29. I wasn't aware you would have to change the motherboard. I thought that was only if you have to buy a new motherboard because the new CPU is a different kind of chipset. The processor I'm getting is the same kind of chipset (AM2) and I'd really like to avoid getting a new motherboard. Would I still have to?
