  5. It is, but at the extremes it's only usable against stationary targets, or targets traveling at a constant speed. That might work in a desert, but elsewhere the terrain alone is going to make your movable target jolt enough for you to miss. What can only fire while sitting? T-34? KingTiger? Don't know about others, but in our army it's a normal thing for even T-55s to practise shooting on the move.

  6. Putting all the "my national tank is > All" beside - right now Leopard 2A6 is considered to be the best one in the world. Let's wait a year, then some other tank might be the best. Personally, i wouldn't like to have a T-80UD as my opponent in the desert, sitting in a pimped out m1a2 or a leo2a6. That missiles can reach you before you can shoot him :D

  9. Go to Scripts\Aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit and open with NOTEPAD++ the file localizer.lua. At the top of the file when the text says country = "EN" if LockOn_Options.cockpit_language == "russian" then country = "EN" , change RUS for EN like you can read here.

  13. Started To Paint Hello everyone. I have started to paint this beautiful 3d model. Yesterday I noticed that BuLLeT was from South Africa so i made a fictional SAAF Jas-39C Gripen, as they dont have the Caesar model yet i don't know what they will look like but i think i made it quite similar to what they will look like. I also made a Swedish Air Force paint, but i think i will add some ware and tare to that one soon . Hope you like the pictures and stay tuned as VireVolte_tigrou and me has more treats for you all:thumbup: BW Shaggy SAAF And the Swedish one

  14. hoorah, Doppler effect was explained to you wrongly. Horn sounds low (in sense of loudness) when train is far and sounds louder when train moves closer because of sound (wave) attenuation and not because of Doppler effect, which is about frequency. When train is far away its horn will have higher pitch (higher frequency) than stationary horn, as it closes the horn will sound lower (in sense of pitch) and will continue to sound lower and lower as train moves away from observer. This is Doppler effect - change in frequency depending on relative movement. Example with trains isn't natural, because of relatively low speed it is hard to notice the changes in pitch. I think jet flyby is better example. As jet approaches it whistles (high pitch) and after flyby when it extends away sound becomes lower (in pitch). If you have ever experienced it (airshow?), then you will understand easily. Doppler radar works by comparing emitted and echoed microwave frequencies. If there is no relative speed between emitter and reflector, there will be no Doppler effect. In case of moving aircraft, whole ground will have relative speed to it (ground speed). Simplified approach for solving ground clutter problem in look down scenario is to filter out anything that is moving towards aircraft at ground speed. It may look that stationary (hovering) helicopter will be filtered out too, however don't forget that helicopter isn't Harrier and has fast moving rotors, which will cause Doppler effect by themselves alone, because blades have relative speed to ground and to approaching aircraft (with radar) too.

  15. The law says you can use them as long as you are not making money on them. If you start making money w/ the photos the Photographer can claim them and seek retibution. Funny thing is this is going on now w/ an Obama photo an AP photo took and a guy made posters w/ the image likeness and now they are heading to court. Any way I love the first pic!!!!

  18. I want you to check the altitude reading on the baro gauge. Take a screen of it. If your RPM warning is coming up it sounds to me like you're hovering at too high an altitude (and thus requiring too much collective and too much power to stay in the hover) which can result in the engines shutting down due to overtemps. Keep an eye on the EGT gauges for this - I'm only guessing here.

  21. You don't have to have rudder pedals, you don't have to have sex either but ...... trackir. Once you have trackir you will not ever play a sim again that does not support it. Race and flight. Well that is at least how I see it and a lot of others I gather. Recomendation 1000%+++ Sounds 100% stupid, you can't really picture how it could possibly work as you have to keep looking at the screen anyway... until you own one then there is no going back. :)

  22. The Shkval sensor display recalibrates/does some built in self testing every 5 minutes or so I recall. So it's pretty normal it happens, and also it doesn't really have to do with the strain on the plane. The autopilot lights flash when there is an INU alignment problem. Or at least, that's one of the reasons they could be flashing. I'm not sure if INU drift or any of that sort would be responsible for that too, or if it could be because you took off before your INU was fully aligned. -Z
