  1. Hello First of all, DCS BS is an awesome game, all creds to ED. Awaiting the A-10 and the patch, I would like to make a suggestion. What about having a Campaign creation competition? Everyone can participate, and the task is simple; create the best campaign under some preset rules/conditions, and the winner (top 3) wins a prize. The exact rules of the competition would of course have to be set by ED, here are som suggestions though: Rules and conditions: First, the preset conditions, where the number of mission should be set (5?), the overall difficulty (Medium?), number of AI vehicles (to make it playable on most systems) and so on. Mission should be for Single Player. The campaign is evaluated in three "parts" that are equally important: Playability: How well does it play? Any hick-ups? Is it any fun at all? AI: How well does the AI work? Is there any strange things happening, vehicles driving into each other, traffic jams etc. Also, can you fly over enemies without them engaging you and so on. Ambience: How well does the creator capture the "right feeling" with a nice briefing/background information/radio traffic and so on. You could also instate a fourth part, Realism, but then, who are we to judge this? Winner: The winner would be appointed here on the forum by a vote. Of course this will be very arbitrary and subjective, but on the other hand, the same rules applies for all. To prevent people from cheating (for example registering many nicks to be able to vote many times), the prize(s) should be very... humble (who would go through a lot of fuzz just to win a 40 $ prize?). Prizes (suggestion): 1:st prize: A copy of the A-10, and the hardback of the Flight manual for both the A-10 and the KA-50. 2:nd prize: A copy of the A-10. 3:rd prize: A copy of the Flight manual for either the A-10 or the BS. If there is many campaigns participating, well, it will be up to the Campaign creator to promote his own campaign, with briefings/pictures from the campaign here on the forum. Perhaps not all campaigns will be flown in the competition, but if we could get some disc space from ED, well, they would have several downloadable campaigns for those who are interested for the future. I'm sure my idea has many problems, that needs to be solved, but I think this could improve the interest for the game, since playing your own missions feels like... cheating, since you know it all. I also think it is a cheap way for ED to increase the life-length of the BS, meaning that there will not be ten posts every week on "When will the A-10 ber released?" So, I'm up for a fight in Mission Editor/Campaign Builder. Are you?

You dont even have to do it "this way", there are unfortunatly other easier ways to cheat in lockon: I give you just few examples what i have heart, seen over 4 years being friend and guest of many squadrons. Some told me this secret, others that and so on. Further this is not meant to be a "how to hack" instruction, but unfortunatly various things can be done and HAVE to be addressed to public attention in order to improve things in future projects. You may ask, how do i know all this ? Well simple, just by sharing infos with community since Lockons´ birth. I also have interest in "spotting" such unfair things as much as i can in terms of Fair Play in TCL league (im Admin over there, so.. ) and have also developed various methods to "bust" some of these methods. Back to topic, without detailing it: Since the release of Lockons´ 3Dmax plug-in it is very simple to re-modify every Airframe with a hollow sphere surrounding them in various collors and place it back into game, so you can see Jets from huge ranges. Everyone who understands a little bit of 3dmax, will imediatly understand what im saying here. You can even do it simpler, by just adding one specific line under each aircraft in modellod.txt what will swap your aircraft model to whatever you like like carriers, bigger other Jet 3d-models and so on ppl have achieved to change their flightmodels in specific ways (may it be weight or others) or just swapped the CLSIDs completly Others have changed values in sound.cfg so they could hear missiles from miles being launched, and to top it they also changed the missile sound itself to hear it significantly....you dont see it, but you know something is inbound ..from miles...cuz you hear it a old classic was to use the lua gap to read out bandit flight datas in realtime useing various tools from other squads i know the approach to change missile trailer smokes....in length and colors...so they could be seen etc, etc, etc, etc As you see, and unfortunatly there ARE many ways of "cheating" meanwhile in Lockon. Things what ppl found out and mostly shared with a whistling "but dont share" smile. I wil not name the squads or the mates, it is wide spreaded and to be honest its not even important, who. It´s somewhat like "all know, noone tells ..." :music_whistling: Important is, that developers must ..no MUST! ..think about this issue ..may it be unaccessable sources or Anti-Cheat-Programs similar what was enjoyed in FalconAF and changed combat "bigtime". I have heart, that many pilots flew absolutly different once ACP was running in background. Maybe its the nature of humans to find out always the "winning path" rather then the "glorious" one...who knows.... Who knows, what else is possible meanwhile, i stepped back from Lockon after 4 years, all i do now is trying to provide under the guidance of others a observed plattform, so others can compete in and enjoy flightsim-competitions ...its TCL. There we "forced" the MUST of uploading the tracks for everyone and each flight, so EVERYONE can watch them. Many left after the announcement of this new rule but many many still fly (700registered pilots). The days i was active i ALWAYS made my tracks public, i had nothing to fear or to hide, and im proud of it. Peace and out....

  3. Dear Arne Anaka, We’ve discussed this internally and we’ve decided to directly support this effort. We agree that this could be a win-win for both this community and Eagle. Black Shark campaigns would have be based on 1.0.1 to take advantage of new ME functions and they would need to consist of at least 5 stages with at least 3 missions per stage (minimum of 15 individual missions). This would have to include not just design, but complete development and debugging. We will have a competition for both a single player campaigns and a multi-player campaigns (using multiplayer campaign functionality introduced in 1.0.1). We will judge the campaigns based on a combination of a community poll and an Eagle evaluation. Things like localization, briefings, game play, scripting, and balance of fun/realism will all be factored. 1st prize will be $100 and copies of both DCS: A-10C Warthog (when available) and available printed manuals, along with TFC polo shirt and hat. 2nd prize will be $50 will be a copy of DCS: A-10C Warthog when available and printed manuals. 3rd prize will be $25 and a copy of DCS: A-10C Warthog when available. If more than one individual is involved in creating a campaign, up to four members of the team will be provided prizes and the monetary prize will be split among team members. The campaign building phase will last three months after the release of 1.0.1 (for example: it took me three months to create the 104 mission GOW campaign when not working on my normal job duties). After those three months have expired, there will be a two week judging period. Please use the following forum for your campaign development discussions: http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=87 For those interested in taking part, I would suggest working on your "paper design" and briefings while waiting for 1.0.1 to be released. The winners would have their campaigns available directly from the Eagle web site, assuming there is no offensive material. No promises, but if we identify a very talented mission/campaign designer, there may be a slot for such an individual on the DCS: A-10C Warthog beta team. Thanks, Matt

Not joke, guys today me and my friend have piloted a real simulation of jet I can't told what plane but you can imagine what plane Italy can have, we have done takeoff and landing and we have used basicaly things like flaps, gear, the news is on Airbrake, this plane can have it 1/3, 2/3 3/3 opened, I don't know if also other plane can have it but in LockOn we can have airbrake colsed or opened only I hope that this post can be used for next patch or for new DCS's plane aribrake controls anyway we had a nice day and a little hard landing but was cool guys!

  6. Oh well I gave up with waiting for Amazon UK to get the manual. I ordered mine from RC simulations at £19.95 + £3.50 postage on Tuesday night. It arrived on Thursday(!!!!) REALLY well packaged. Really pleased. I think if anybody else is waiting on Amazon to get it in I would be inclined to give in - I'm glad I did.

  7. У меня есть куча шрифтов. Сейчас быстренько просмотрел и в одном архиве увидел тип шрифтов связанных с чем-то подобным "planes" и "airport", довольно похоже с вышеприведёнными. Выложил тут - http://ifolder.ru/13338907 А вааще архив со всеми остальными (55 метров) тож сейча спостраюсь выложить. Если качнётся, то дам ссылку, если нет, то на ночь с мопеда буду заливать. Мож где-то и как-то можно будет что-то подобрать ...

Ur running around everywhere screaming "Yoda cheat cheat, the reason LUA sucks is cause Yoda exists....." *Aha a new thread popped up that is remotely related to what I did . What did I do? I made it possible for server admins, should they want to, to implement certain features, and disable others, each could be done separately. I find it poor taste going around saying these things, twisting the truth with your words and stating things like "Fact1, Fact2". (anything including the word LUA is probably related in your opinion) - Bash Bash Bash!* Get your facts straight. The ingame RWR does distinguish between many many different types of threats. The difference is I also implemented a system that allows you not only to get the visual cues (default), but not also get the sound differences. As usual I have made the work public and possible to disable by server. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=42942 And how do you think tacview works really if not get all coordinates of all objects (yes it gets all objects) in the game, every frame? I guess this is another Yoda conspiracy theory? I guessthere is an entire underground Sith movement! :P

  14. LOTACT is good but only for COOP's I think. For regular online servers it is not good because it can be easily used to get advantage or in another words, cheat. We had it running on 3Sqn server for about a week... after which we took it off and haven't had it since. The Tackview is good tool but can be used to cheat also... luckily I think 51st came up with way to block it from being used while in flight. Definitely good to use for debrief your flight (or of the enemy) and good learning tool (as in real pilot training) EDIT: this is main reason why I don't like LUA export: fact 1: Yoda has come up with way to check enemy missile inbound onto your aircraft so that if you pull high G's to try last evasive manouver the LRM script will reduce your pull kin dof forcing you to get hit. this means it is possible to get enemy missile/aircraft info to your PC via LUA export. fact 2: Yoda also stated he is able to get different sounds for RWR for different radar threats. Currently in game, the game RWR does not distingush between different radar threats/nails. putting these together I see a clear posibility for the same person who is able to do first two things to get the two combined and get something like warning sound via third application to your speakers/headphone when enemy missile is inbound or about to hit, Heck I bet if he can get coordinates from within game for all aircraft in game then he can also write script to tell him angles to enemy threats etc. so... see my reasoning why I dislike LUA and export data in general? All people have to do is be bit smart and have some coding knowledge and few ideas and there you go... PS: sorry for getting OT

  15. YES THERE IS! Head over to the 169th forums, they've got details on how to mod your game so you can get tallies at 40nm! Of course, I consider that a cheat, but let your own conscience be your guide. Be aware that a lot of people are using it when you fly online.

  16. Извените,что "втыкаюсь" в умный разговор...В СССР были спецзоны,да я думаю и сейчас остались для отработки пусков управляемых ракет по мишеням. Я работал на трех -на Сахалине,в Марах и на севере Германии а Дамгартене. Мишени были нескольких видов-не буду вдаваться в подробности,но были и управляемые мишени,которые меняли высоту,скорость,выполняли маневры..Отработка шла в такой последовательности-ДРБ,БРБ,атака с применением пушки. Наш полк в Марах тогда получил "отлично" Но это было в ТОЙ ЖИЗНИ! Удачи вам ребята
