Hi all.... just like to make public my tutorial explaining everything I struggled with when I was starting out in DCS A10. It explains how to create mark points and save them as way-points. And how to fire AGM-65's, and drop GBU-31's, GBU-12's with a little gunnery. It's boring as hell but I think it gets the point across. I hope it helps :thumbup:3 points

In case anyone is interested here is a document containing some my checklists/procedures. I made these notes a while ago when I learned the sim using the training missions. I decided to publish them to help new members learn this fantastic sim. The checklists are best used in conjunction with the training missions and the flight manual, but they may still be useful as a reference after learning the specific topics. Be aware that the current version of the flight manual unfortunately contains some errors. I started a list with all the errors I found here. I hope ED will update the manual in an upcoming patch! These are the topics contained in the document (more to follow): Startup Taxi and Take-off TACAN Landing Use of AN/AAQ-28 LITENING-II AT targeting pod (TGP) Attack using GAU-8/A Avenger 30mm gun Attack using unguided rockets (in CCIP mode) Employment of unguided (free-fall) bombs using CCIP and CCRP Employment of PGM (LGB/IAM) Employment of AGM-65 Maverick Air-to-Surface Missile Air-to-Air employment using AIM-9M sidewinder missiles Open issues (please help me resolve them): AIM-9M: What exactly is "circular scan and consent to self track" mode ? manual p. 387: "The first depression enters scan mode which allows AIM-9 slewing. The next depression commands circular scan and consent to self track, ..." AGM-65: According to the manual TGM-65D/H can also be loaded on a LAU-88 triple rail launcher, but not in the game. See this thread. Please let me know if there is anything I can improve! I gained my knowledge mostly from the included training missions, the flight manual, forum posts and video tutorials on YouTube. Big thanks to the community! Have fun and enjoy this great sim! Greetings fellows FC/DCS/BS junkies, We at =4c= got little bored lately and decided to test the "what if R-27AE ..." scenario. This is by no means an attempt to rewrite the history of the R-27AE. We completely understand and accept that there is no evidence the R-27AE missile was ever introduced into a regular service of USSR or RAF or PLA or any other military force in the world. Yet, we do see that in the hands of the good pilot, ARH has a decisive advantage over SARH AA missiles. Thus, we came up with a hypothetical scenario of a situation where USSR military was forced to introduce ARH missile (R-27AE) due to unavoidable conflict with the west ... For "older" members of this community, you remember that we actually had the R-27AE in previous versions of Lock On's. However it was removed (capability degraded to unusable) due to the fact that there was no evidence the missile was ever introduced in USSR or RAF. Therefore we decided to use R-77 seeker and put it onto an R-27EM missile body. And we created something that's sort of an R-27AE missile. We armed our Flankers with the maximum of four of them and gave it a try. Well, it was fun ... In our view, F-15C still has an advantage with superior radar capability. However, the F-15 pilot now has to fly, and fly hard to use that advantage. As of right now, the test mission is up and running on our dedicated server. Please feel free to join the server to get the feel of our R-27EA mod. We will be closely watching your reaction as well as your comments and suggestions. If we get thumbs up, we will keep the mod up and running. If we get thumbs down from you, we will rethink our ideas and take appropriate action. To join our server running R-27EA mod, you will need to install the ModMan 7.3.0.0 compatible mod for each the FC or BS depending on the aircraft you will use to play on our server. Mods are attached here (see bootom of this post). If you need a TS to coordinate action with your team members (BLUE or RED), please feel free to join our Team Speak server at the following IP: 95.156.192.41:9987 At the end, I would ask you again to please not turn this topic into a discussion about whether the R-27EA missile exist or not in real life military of any country. We do understand and accept the fact that there is no evidence what so ever that R-27EA exists in any military in real life. I popped a small blood vessel in my left central cerebellum in 2001. I still have balance issues, elevators sometimes give me the whoozies and my left leg is still a bit crippled up. I had a stroke type bleed, but no major paralysis. It took me about 3 months to walk a mile after hospital. I had no surgery. I think basically it was an AVM. I hiked a 1200 foot "mountain" in Acadia National Park, 9 months after, but got into some pretty painful migraine and no meds at the time, but I did top it out. I have flown several times, 5 hour flights to Seattle in commercial airlines as a passenger. You professional, real, pilot guys: ===================== Could I go get flight lessons either sailplane or power and be allowed to solo? Would the FAA allow it? Or am I forever restricted with instructor by my side, just in case, and limit my fun to just lessons, never attaining a license? Erich I am age 591 point

A very good dream, I should add! If only... but the dratted Hornet JUST HAD TO win over the hearts of pilots! The Eagle is left forgotten!1 point

In a strongly controlled garrisson-town? ..... That US forces have first class access I guess or not ? ... or maybe all this tail, is a big secret game of agents that serve other purposes in the global chess ! People, I know one thing for sure .... We the ordinary people .... we will never know what is really happening for the most things out there !1 point

Yes GIMP (GnuImageManipulationProgram) works very well. I did my skins with it. You will need to get to know it a bit first but I think it´s not that hard.1 point

The plane was grounded for 10 years, after some repairs it was meant to fly to another location. After take off controls failed. Pilots landed it using only thrust. The videos are truly terrifying. Never thought 154 can handle so much stress. Photos of the accident: http://photo.qip.ru/users/neustaf.fotoplenka/151028556/ all videos: fP5uLDnUOdI sJ1CIByTz24 mM9UM33EKqY1 point

This also happened to me. Of the five times I flew BFT02 yesterday it only happened once. I attached the track file, so maybe Sabre can take a look at it! 20110501 - BFT02 - 4th try (bug).zip1 point

All set into the description... thanks for your correction  Couldn't agree more about player training aids... ~ 80% of what I put in this video, I learned from video's and written information from the community... the manuals fine but it really helps to be shown step be step what to do, which is the reason I put together this video.1 point

Personally I like the F16. It can do everything and it seems like a lot of fun to fly. There is a reason why it has been done so many times before. Even though there has been F4. That was a long time ago and adding the F16 into this sim line would be amazing. I have to admit that I like the Tornado as well but it is really limited and just doesn't fly like a F16. Which is also a reason why I am not a big fan of the F18. The F16 is just so much fun to fly around. All this is of course based on many many rears of flying sims ... not for real. Though I am currently in Afghanistan and I see them every day here at Kandahar Air Field. The F16s seem to have a lot of fun around here ... they are the ones who pull the most stunts and show off! And they just have that look about them. Anyway, I can't wait to go back home and get going on the A10. I already bought it and it is downloaded - I just can't play it here on my laptop :( Gonna have to wait until November.1 point

Nearly, all you have to do is on the UFC press the Function key and then the number 8 key to access MARK mode. Then you can cycle the mark points, when your done just press Function + 7 to go back to your original flight plan with your original steer point selected. There's no need to really add it in since it would take a while to explain in the annotations. Maybe stick it in the description as an after thought.1 point

Hey guys, no one makes a speech about osama bin laden, that he is killed, when he would be alive, where he would make a arabic dance on a video tape on the next day wth, are you guys smoking? Obama would never ever, say such a fool story, infront of his next presidential time, if it would not be true, period. If some of you would follow the fight already for the next president, then you would understand.. And it is the right way to drop his dead body over the ship, this guy was a massmurder, and there will be no ceremony for his death.... Some of you remind me on those who belived that Hitler was not killed either?!1 point

And what is the most amazing is that the guys who pulled this off are either in a bunk in a sub, or flying incognito back to a U.S. base somewhere or in a obscure bar in the middle of nowhere just waiting for the dust to settle. No rewards, no medals, only the satisfaction of of being alive and having accomplished their mission. Maybe, someday, in 30 years time, we will see a documentary somewhere in the National Geographic-History Channel in just how they did it. My greatest respect for these guys.1 point

Yup Navy Seal Team did the work....report says that they had practiced the raid a few times before the actual mission. I sure wish I could buy these men a drink!!!1 point

I guarantee 50% chance it was USAF combat control that called in the bomb. Hooyah.1 point

The credit should go to the brave team of soldiers and airman who pull this off; and also all the US Armed forces who keep fighting day by day. Can't wait to heard the details about the operation; apparently one helicopter as lost (CNN).1 point

Now we need someone to make a Osama bin Laden mission, I know details are sketchy and an A-10 might not have been involved. But Im sure some of you awesome map makers out there could fit it into a really cool mission! :)1 point

 - sorry but I had to make the mission challenging. Glad I caught most of the bugs. I'll fix the typos in the next update. For parking just stop the plane behind the humvee. I know in future missions I say to park beside the tanker. I'll see if I can come up with some better parking spot indications. I know the mission editor assigns parking spots but if I say park in spot 10 would everyone know where that is?1 point

Helicopters don't count. Helicopters only fly because they are so ugly the earth repels them. ;) Version BM and SM its very best intercept fighter on the world. REALLY? Bahahahahaha...1 point

Note when ordering SSD's and adapters: do double-check that adapters are included. It is not that uncommon that there are none for such units delivered as "bulk". //Rage, SSD's can solve one type of stutter - the load-stutter. This occurs on a slow HDD (especially if it is fragmented, or just slow, or has nother such issue) when the simulator needs to load a new game asset (such as a new texture, new sound for an explosion, so on). Highly dependent on the rest of the machine though for how well it works, and it does not solve all types of stutters. If your stutter is something else, it won't be adressed by the much faster access times of an SSD.1 point

I haven't seen it, but it looks to be full length: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWxKfxD9HMw&feature=related Interesting side note I've mentioned before, the US was about to gift 2 squadrons-worth of A-10s to Jordan pre-peace treaty but Israel opposed the deal.1 point

Was that a full length documentary or just a feature on a news program? Interesting any way, thanks.1 point

Можешь пол год два ещё подождать, а можешь поплясать с бубном покурить форум на сухом и уже летать) Чтоб не быть голословным вот моё видео с примерным отображением фпс-дм-фм-летабельности на данный момент1 point

Agree with the comments. I have been using Saitek X52, now the Pro, for several years. Install software drivers first then plug the stick in. I have all A10c commands on the X52 pro software. One thing I have done is disable the Saitek Direct output LED/MFD support in Services. That seems to have improved the stability. Also deleted and reassigned some key assignments in A10c GUI. The weakspot on mine is the ps2 connector on the stick and it is plasticky. I would like the X65F, but its similar price to the TM Warthog, wonder which is superior?;) My profile is attached if anyone wants a look. There are some duplications in the list menu, I messed around a little:doh:1 point

I'm still pounding away furiously on the Mission Data Card for the iPhone, iPad2 about to be shipped and I'll begin working on the iPad version when I'm done with the iPhone. Got the database portion working, almost done with the mission card, then I'll add all the stock mission data. The checklist portion and airbase PDF's are done. Then all that's left is the encyclopedia and emergency procedures portion. I'm going as fast I can to get this our, putting lots of hours into this!1 point
