  1. Hardly supporting it, Lockon was released in November 20, 2003, 6 YEARS later they released the scenery editing tools, with no documentation. 8 YEARS down the line you now supply the CMD tools, compatible only with software that was released on June 15th 1999. ED are fortunate to have talented modders, who btw had figured out how to get cockpits into FC2 already That's ED in a nutshell, you will only ever get the plug-ins when the team have moved on to using newer techniques. All the community get are the castoffs that are no longer of use or supported by ED. DCS A10 was released on February 21, 2011, I look forward to the release of the un-documented plugins/scenery tools in 2017 when you have developed and no longer support the older methods. You don't deserve such a loyal and hard working modding community, and you certainly don't make life easy for them.

  2. I was trying to figure out how to effectively deploy illumination for night missions. I discovered through experimenting that the LUU-2B illumination flares go off pretty much immediately after leaving the plane and then burn as they fall at around 17 mph for about 3500 feet (unless they hit the ground first). However, in the manual it says: "After ejection, a programmable timer deploys a parachute and ignites the flare candle." I was curious, how you go about programming that timer? I messed around with the FF DIST (which I thought might mean Free Fall Distance) in the INV page of DSMS, but that didn't seem to change anything. It seems that it would be relatively useful to be able to drop the illumination flares from much higher (i.e. above IR SAM range) and then have the flare drop to about 4000 feet before deploying chute and burning. Also, I was equally curious about the M257 Hydras and how to set how long they fly before deployment. I saw in another thread that the HOT (Height Over Target) setting is not functional, but it seems there should also be some kind of a timer setting here. EDIT: found this document: http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/missile/docs/hydra_info2.pdf On page 8 it explains the M257 has an interal setback fuse that ignites after flying about 3000 meters, so I'm guessing that can't be changed, even on the ground. Is that 3000 meter figure accurate to how the M257 is modeled in DCS?

  3. Latest in the navigation series. A little longer than previous ones, and consolidates concepts introduced in previous navigation topics. All feedback welcome.

  4. My attempt at flying an A-10 high airshow demo routine. Based loosely on AFI11-246v1 and the A-10 West and A-10 East Air Combat Command Demo team manoeuvres. Select 1080p go full screen, crank the volume and enjoy! Apologies for the lousy editing...

  6. As stated in the readme, both the left and right MFCD's need to be powered on with the circular knob at the bottom left of each MFCD. (Previously, they would come on when the CICU was turned on.)

  16. I think its safe to say that ED net is here to stay. What are some features you would like to see added when you log in to play online? 1. A central chat room. Get a few people together and join a server. Enough said. 2. Patch Notification. Nothing is worse then logging onto to DCS and to find all your servers are gone. I think people on the forums check often enough to know when a new patch is out. But new players may be in the dark. 3. News board. This ties in with 1 and 2. After login you can see the latest DCS news. Such as a patch is out or community events. Right now the only real reason to login in to ED net is to run Eagle Dynamic DRM. That is only one copy online at a time. Which I have no complaints about. I have never been held back as an honest customer using EDs product. However, if I'm logging into a server to check my game copy, I would like some basic features in return. Im not demanding anything. This is the wish list thread after all. What do want added?
