  1. Hi all. This is first mission i have ever made. It is very easy and short just for fun. This mission was intended just as ME practice but i decided to post it here. I was inspired by Repsol and his amazing missions but i am definitely not even close to his work. Feel free to post bug reports and your feeling about the mission. :-) (Sorry for my english) ============================================================ [sP] The Valley Run Tested only with v1.1.1.1! SITUATION Two days before your mission start the SEALS unit Jaguar 1-1 was deployed in the valley near the village Tsageri. Their mission was to locate secret documents (even we dont know what these documents suppopsed to contain). They located two heavy armored bunkers during their journey across the valley. But no secret documents found - until now. The current position of Jaguar 1-1 is northeast tip of village Mestia located height in the mountains. Jaguar 1-1 informed us, that they found out two possible locations of secret documents in that village. They need to search those locations/buildings but insurgents presence was detected. They cant handle it on their own. They need your help. OBJECTIVE Your mission has two parts. At first you have to destroy two heavily armored insurgents bunkers detected by Jaguar 1-1 during their jurney across the valley (TRG1 and TRG2 in your FP). During this part of the mission the satellite support (Eye 1-1) will be provided to you. Eye 1-1 will be confirming target hits and maybe help you with threats detection. After the destruction of bunkers you will fly to IP and provide CAS to Jaguar 1-1 during their search mission. Jaguar 1-1 will be picked-up by heli (UH-60, Ford 1-1) after reaching LZ. They will contact you when you reach IP. Jaguar 1-1 must to survive!! Before your mission start, 2x F-16 SEAD mission will take place in order to destroy insurgents mid/long range antiair. MISSION: 1. Take-off at 2030 from Kutaisi (ramp) 2. Destroying TRG1 3. Confirmation by Eye 1-1 4. Destroying TRG2 5. Confirmation by Eye 1-1 6. Orbit at IP until Jaguar 1-1 contact 7. Provide CAS to Jaguar 1-1 8. Wait until clearance to RTB 9. RTB COMMUNICATION: SEALS (Jaguar 1-1) = JTAC guy (if available) => 30MHz VHF FM ATC - Kutaisi - 134 MHz VHF AM F10 - Other menu UPDATE v1.4: 1. Message correction (edited one message at the end of the mission) 2. Trigger corrections (player on IP wider area) UPDATE v1.3: 1. Enfield 1-1 (2x F-16 SEAD) => assigned frequency 134 MHz VHF AM (same as ATC) 2. Typo correction UPDATE v1.2: 1. Issue with LZ pickup by Ford 1-1 fixed UPDATE v1.1: 1. JTAC update 2. Yesterday I sat down and decided to have a look at the Flying Legends DVD trailer and my 18month old grandson wanted to see Bumba on youtube so I told hime he would have to wait and he could see his Bumba after I had seen the aeroplanes. Well he watched the video of FLying Legends with me and it was all Ooohs and Aaahs and when I went to put on Bumba he protested and kicked up a fuss until I put on more aircraft. He giggled and pointed at the screen and made noises imitating the aircraft and he was just as enthuised by the cockpit shots as the external views. I did notice that he was slightly more thrilled by radial engined aircraft than in-line or V engined, when the Corsair did it's run-up and flyby he loved that as well as the FW190. Jets he wasn't so bothered about but we see F16s every day here, all he wanted was to watch aircraft all day and when his father came to pick him up in the evening he did not want to go home. Looking forward to taking him to Sanicole Airshow this summer :D

  4. Dear FC2 hosters, Last weeks we tested network hotfix, that eliminates the vulnerability of servers to DoS-attacks. In total, the checks were drawn up to 7 public FC2 servers (plus our servers), no significant problems were found. Hotfix and installation instructions are on download page for Flaming Cliffs 2 (http://lockon.co.uk/downloads/patches/). Please don't forget to make backup of binaries from the installation path. Pay attention that this hotfix is intended specifically for downloadable version of FC2 and does not require activation. A "side effect" of applying the patch is an incorrect message about the failure of Integrity Check - client will receive message the interrupted connection. Hotfix must be installed only on the server, there is no necessary to put it on the client. Servers and clients with/without this hotfix still compatible in network game.

  5. Уважаемые хозяева серверов ГС2, Крайние несколько недель нами тестировался сетевой патч ГС2, устраняющий уязвимость серверов к DoS-атакам. В общей сложности в проверки были вовлечены до 7 открытых общественных серверов (не считая наших), существенных проблем не обнаружено. Хотфикс и инструкция по установке находятся на странице загрузки патчей к ГС2 (http://www.lockon.ru/downloads/patches/). Перед установкой не забудьте сделать резервную копию бинарных файлов из каталога установки. Обращаю внимание на то, что данный хотфикс предназначен именно для загружаемой версии ГС2 и не требует активации. Побочным эффектом применения патча является несколько некорректное сообщение о провале проверки файлов - клиенту просто выдается сообщение о разрыве соединения. Фикс должен быть установлен только на сервере, ставить его на клиенте нет никакой необходимости. Серверы и клиенты с фиксом и без фикса остаются совместимы в сетевой игре. Отдельное спасибо тем хозяевам серверов, которые нам помогали в скрытых "полевых испытаниях".

  8. That combined with the huge range of joysticks and lack of capabilities of many makes me think it's not a terrible idea to have variable levels of assist. What I think many would prefer is a minor assist with about 5% authority over your thrust and controls. Sort of like PAC, where it'll nudge you into place but exceeding the authority limits would still cause you to move around and break away. Getting your airspeed and alignment would be entirely up to you, but once you're in the right position it would help keep you there. If your airspeed is 0.5 kts too high, it might dampen it a bit, so people without ultra-sensitive throttles (or even the luxury of a split throttle) aren't constantly swinging back and forth trying to get their potentiometers to find the sweet spot. If you're rolling just a hair to the left (since, honestly, roll trim is so sensitive it's almost impossible to get right), it'll relax it a bit. Basically, all the ultra-minute maneuvers would no longer become as necessary, but the rest of it would still be entirely up to you. *Shrug* Either way I suspect air refueling for us in the sim is a lot harder in some ways than in real life. You can see videos of A-10s flying in behind the tanker at +20 knots, slam on the airbrakes, snag the boom, and fly perfectly straight and level with nary a shake, all in about five seconds. Even the best air refueling I've seen in-game involves a lot of shaking around and slowly creeping in to place. Some of you may think that air refueling in the sim is easy, and that's fine, but I'd like to see you keep your tune if our next aircraft is an F-16 or F-15 where you cannot even see the refueling receptacle from the seat... methinks things will become even harder.

  9. Продолжу диалог сам с собой. Попытался найти ответы на свои вопросы в документе "FLIGHT MANUAL USAF SERIES A-1OA AIRCRAFT". Нашел только один, про упоры ручки подстройки курса HDG. В означенном документе говорится: Т. е. чем больше отклоняем рукоятку от нейтрали, тем быстрее разворачивается гироагрегат. Есть предположение, что она еще и подпружинена, с возвращением в нейтраль. Выяснил для себя еще очень любопытную вещь: Т. е. для согласования не надо держать кнопу нажатой, при ее отпускании гироагрегат сам приведется к положению магнитного датчика. По одной этой ручке (HDG) можно увидеть разницу подходов "у нас" и "у них". "У них" - минимум действий для человека, "у нас" - максимальный контроль над аппаратурой. А вообще вопросов только прибавилось. Вот, например, в документе сказано: А зачем в режиме SLAVE нужна текущая широта? Все равно ведь гироскоп непрерывно к магнитному курсу приводится. Еще вопрос (почему-то только сейчас пришел в голову): зачем нужна уставка магнитного склонения? Ведь истинные курсы нигде не используются от HARS. В режиме SLAVE HARS выдает магнитный курс. В режиме DG - "запомненный" магнитный курс плюс введенные поправки.

  10. The pit is just about done. Now its time for dis-assembly, stain, and paint to match the office decor. I work from home as much as I work from the office, so my home office must be functional. I've created a mobile pit that can be put away in the closet when I'm not flying, and quickly be setup again. I built a pedestal for the warthog and mounted a 21.5" touch screen monitor to it. I had to get a little MacGyver on it with regards to the monitor mount. I wanted it as close to the desk as possible, and ended up using a piece of entryway trim for a door. It turned out perfect because the trim has ridges in it that add to the strength of the mount. I heated it up with a heat gun and bent to the proper angle, then drill pressed all the holes in it for mounting. Once I get the wood floors in my office and i put some pads on the bottom of the pedestal, this thing will be a breeze to use and move around. Its probably about 40lbs including hotas and monitor. The 4x4's and wood I used are heavy. Hope you enjoy, now I have to get used to touching the cockpit! I'm using Cap Loz's helios profile and have made some tweaks to personalize it.   13. Why is DCS P-51 not a WWII environment? I was really excited to see this was in the works and am liking A-10C. It would be great to see a WWII aircraft treated in this level of detail and quality. But if it's not going to be in a WWII period environment and have period missions and opponents, like escorting bombers over Germany and fighting 109s and so on. Then please ED just forget the whole project. It makes no sense whatsoever to have this plane in a modern world. It would be like putting the A-10C in WWI fighting Fokkers. The world doesn't need another WWII flight sim failure like Cliffs of Dover. So with all due respect for the effort so far, it's my opinion that if this can't be done right it's better it not be done at all.

  15. tyger, sad to hear that. you could try to trainning in our server on weekend if you wish. ( escuadrón 69) . Our server is in spain and I don't Know the pin you'll have but you could test if you want. so if you want to use our server for trainning let us Know, we'll be glad TO share with 74th.

  24. Two simple steps for a better handling while refuelling mid air. This is how the "easy AA refuelling " setting looks: (works with almost every controller!) Its still a challenge! - but would it be fun otherwise?!:)

  25. I have done this in Op Lagavulin using a combination of triggers and Lua. In Lua I have created a task table which I then randomly re-order at mission start. As a task is assigned it is removed from the table of tasks. Once the task is completed the next task is taken off the top of the table, assigned then removed from the table. This also removes the bias problem. The tasks in the table are essentially flag numbers which are set to true in Lua and picked up by Once triggers. Take a look at my miz file, the Lua is in a lone soldier unit called Luaman at the North part of home base. The triggers are all at the begining of the long list and annotated clearly.

  29. У нас на Сибири чат отключен. Идут только сообщения о тимкиле. Народ воспринял неоднозначно, многим не понравилось. Хотя в целом уже привыкли. Да, осторожности добавляет. Пока не увидишь, что враг рассыпался на запчасти, относишься к нему, как к полностью живому.
