  1. One nautical mile = 1 minute of longitude at the equator. Very useful for navigation. Knot is used two different ways. One is as a measure of distance. The other as a measure of speed. Usually the context makes it clear which is being used. 1 Knot = 1 nautical mile 1 Knot = 1 nautical mile per hour
  2. Everything is in DCS.LOG now.
  3. I just tried it and sure enough the same thing happens for me. Does it for any type of unit, too -- not just pilotable aircraft.
  4. Try Baretail: https://www.baremetalsoft.com/baretail/ I'm able to see messages as they are added to dcs.log.
  5. No, I haven't found a workaround yet. That function was put in when the scripting engine got busted several versions ago. It is supposed to populate the groups from the mission definition itself and then add any spawned groups that it keeps track of separately. That part should still work. I think there are other places in the script where it tries to access client groups --- which as you know is still broken. I narrowed down the flaw to a certain part but I haven't had time to really dig into it. Edit: Thanks for giving me credit, but I originally based it on Deck's Huey Drop script back when I was first learning Lua. There are a lot of enhancements but I couldn't have made much progress without studying everyone elses scripts. Updates to this script and others can be found at the 159th public forums here: http://www.159thgar.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=47
  6. I just tap the designate target button (or is it the uncage shkval) -- I don't think you have to hold it.
  7. I don't know why, but if you rotate the turret just a little bit the tank will resume accelerating. At least it did for me. I don't even know if this is the same problem. It wouldn't hurt to try it.
  8. DCS 1.5 introduced the use of a dictionary that holds group and unit names (as well as other info). This might affect the script in that it will display odd names when a unit picks up or drops off troops, but it shouldn't kill the script. I am working on an update for this, but until the scripting engine gets fixed I can't test it.
  9. I finally bought the full version again when it went on sale so I wouldn't have to deal with it any more.
  10. My first priority right now is working with Panzertard and others trying to get ServMan up and running with 1.5. After that I will contact Grimes to see if it's okay to merge his mod into mine or vice-versa. Then it will be a matter of seeing what changed in the ME.
  11. How far away are you from the targets? Depending on the light conditions, you may be too far away. On a bright, sunny day I can get a lock from about 10 km to 12 km. Early morning with the targets in shadow, sometimes I can only get a lock within 5 km to 6 km. Sometimes less, if foggy or rainy.
  12. That's my script. As far as I can tell, it is compatible with 1.5. However, there is currently a bug in the scripting engine that prevents it from working.
  13. I see the same. It's only the in-game F10 view not the Mission Builder map.
  14. I've edited the OP to include a screenshot to show the changes.
  15. Good suggestion! I'd like to see that, too. Black or maybe a middle gray?
  16. It adds a few enhancements to the Mission Editor. Probably the most-used feature of the mod is to quickly and easily hide or show units on the map.
  17. Quick update for DCS 1.5 available at top post.
  18. PNG files are included in the DCS files in the following folders: {DCS}\MissionEditor\data\NewMap\images\themes\nato or {DCS}\MissionEditor\data\NewMap\images\themes\russia

    net module

Good tip about dcs-witchcraft, Ciribob. I need to take a look at it. Thanks!

    net module

Servman and slmod both have access by hooking into the \scripts\net\main.lua file. You would have to do the same. You can't access the net environment using mission scripting. Use the table dump feature of Mist to get the net environment. You should be able to see the variables and functions. Unfortunately, I don't believe any public documentation exists.
  21. Should be "Mi-8MT".
  22. I didn't see this specifically mentioned, but is the laser on prior to uncaging?
  23. That mission was made by Karambiatos. He does indeed create some good ones!
  24. Nope, it wasn't me, Dooom. I think it was XCom.
