Talk about muscle memory! My arm really hurts after flying the BF-109, but then again, what a joy to fly. I'm fine with how it is now but I do feel for the argument that you would pull slower when under heavier load. There should be a minimal but exponential delay function (thus compression) in the formula.

Yes I can relate to what you are saying, and I'm gradually feeling more at ease with this bird. I was also flying too low and too fast, once at decent altitude this aircraft really comes to life!

Would it be right to say you have to fly it with the engine as much as with the wings? I have the impression you could pull the engine out of the airframe in mid-air! playing with the throttle more as I normally would already helps me fly it better. The pitch preset also helps.

Well I'm back on the Bf-109 after some months playing with other modules, but man what did happen? I just can't fly the thing anymore, it behaves very strange, doesn't fly smooth at all and I'm having deep troubles trimming it right. The pitch up issue is by far the smallest one that I experience, and I can overcome that one, but for the rest the flight is heavy, erratic, difficult to predict. I guess I have my settings all wrong, will have to read more about this. I can imagine the oversized engine torque causes many issues, but when I flew it many patches ago I didn't have these issues at all.

I'm rediscovering the P-51D. Not only are warbirds a hard to beat proposition in any flightsim, but the P-51D is just a dream to fly. Incredible flight model, and the skins are absolutely breathtaking, certainly with the new graphics engine.

So, time for a quick round-up of the results so far: we're stuck with the A-10C because WWI generals didn't adapt tot the changing reality that CAS should be performed in a COIN situation where millions die, often by 5.56 bullets that proved to be superior to the 7.62x39. A-10's came to the rescue of troops in contact after turning the tail to the republican guard because the Gulf war was erroneously started before the F-35 was fielded with its superior SDB I missile, that we should not confound with the SDB II that actually would fit in the cargo hold of the AC-130, which is by far the most superior CAS aircraft for conflicts that unfortunately turned obsolete when the F-22 came online. Contrary to artillery, the F-35 has enough fuel and range to stay away from CAS, which is already overcrowded with all the jets, transports, bombers and drones overhead that compete to perform this task better than the A-10 that was never designed for it in the first place. Instead, given its stealth the F-35 can sneak away out of the conflict unharmed, not so bad for a plane inspired by the flight dynamics of an albatros!

Well, I had no problems until the latest 2.02 patch. I new the Mig-21bis wouldn't be working in 2.02 as advertised, but to my surprise - and disappointment - I got the activation error on my 1.5.3 installation, that before worked flawlessly. End of story: I can't fly the Mig-21bis anymore on either 1.5.3 and 2.02.
