tflash replied to tflash's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I guess i just flew too high trying from 6 to 7K; I did a run now for the track at about 4K and that seemed to work! see track & mission included. FT TakeTown Hornet CBU selflased.miz FT F-18 CBU.trk -

I tried trucks as well as BTR-80 -
I cannot manage to hit anything with the CBU's or Rockeye's in the Hornet lately. I do nothing new, but they just don't seem to hit anything even when they explode right on target? I only have the problem in the Hornet. In the F-16 it works like a charm, same mission! (So I just replace the Hornet with an F-16 in a simple ME mission, an it takes out most targets in one run, in the Hornet nothing happens, only some dust! ) Mfuze VT, HT 1500, 2 pairs CBU or Rockeye, I tried heights between about 6000 to 8000, no wind. I thought it worked before on the Hornet also.

Absolutely one of my favorite aircraft! It's damn fast, and flies so well! I also have the more complex planes like the Hornet, but the F-5E is for me more fun, it's really about flying dangerously! Nothing better than some low-level CAS evading AAA's for an adrenaline-filled afternoon! And it's a decent dogfighter too! Not an F-16 but still bonkers!

Oh my! What happened to the forum! I really struggle to adjust: I do not clearly see what is new, I find it difficult to read and generally absolutely unattractive. I liked the previous forum very much. I'll adjust over time of course, but damn, what a strange experience!

There seems to be a problem on the map to embark troops in helos. The troops simply do not embark. Exact same mission in Caucasus works.

There are mappings for the new handles: Left Arming On - Right Arming On (So NOT Left Wing Bomb Arming On - Right Wing Bomb Arming On)

Yes there are mappings for the new handles: Left Arming On - Right Arming On (So NOT Left Wing Bomb Armin On - Right Wing Bomb Arming On)

Indeed quite confusing, you have to turn and pull the handles on the new left panel, and I had the impression I also had to open cover and engage the switches on the main panel as before. But then it works!

PS after the latest patch the bombs do no longer explode? Did I miss something? I open cover, then arm ? Is there something else to do? Worked before the patch!

This works, many thanks! I got the wrong command mapped first. "IR FRAMSTEGN" is normally mapped to the somewhat unhandy combo "RCtrl-RShift-M", I mapped it on a stick button and works fine now!

Hi, When you have multiple sidewinders loaded, is it possible to switch active station? I often have both HB-24J and RB-74 loaded, and depending on the dogfight situation I want to be able to switch missiles.

Thanks! German works for me! -

Somemore precise info on the TZF I found this very instructive video, but it is in Polish. -
How to Turm Zielfernrohre on the Tiger/Panther?
tflash replied to tflash's topic in DCS: Combined Arms
Yes but when I turn the Panther sight to the right distance, I overshoot the target! That is what I find strange, as in the Tiger it works as advertised. ------- Edit: oops sorry, when I select the Spgr. Gr. 34/L70 I can set the correct distance. So indeed I just misread the data. -
Dear all, Does someone know how to correctly read the indications on the Tiger/Panther TZF gunsight? I set a Sherman at 840 meters (also measured with the in-game modern Laser Range Finder, which gives slightly different distances than the ME). I attach two pictures: one through te sight of the Tiger I, one through the sight of the Panther, in early the same place. The distance displayed on the Tiger I TZF is a bit lower than 840, but rather OK, while it seems to me that the measurement of the Panther is way off? Or should I look in the Panther at the bottom left indication, as I shoot Pzgr 39/42 ? But what is the 5 mils indication at the top in the Panther? Thanks!

Hi I'm experimenting with the excellent Zeiss Turmzielfernröhr (TZF) gunsights in DCS CA. Some issues: - In the Tiger I it seems really well implemented but I cannot zoom? Distances are slightly off though: if I measure the real distance (eg on the map or with the (non-WW2) laser rangefinder, and then set the scope at the right distance, it is slightly off. - In the King Tiger everything works but the calibration seems even more off - Same in the Panther. Maybe I'm doing things not right or misreading the numbers in the sight? Anyway great implementation and very fun to play!

cannot repoduce and missing track file AGM-65D not locking?

It's OK I managed to get it to work again. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong, but anyway problem has disappeared! -
cannot repoduce and missing track file AGM-65D not locking?
tflash posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
I do not seem to be able anymore to lock onto T-80/T72 with the maverick D/G anymore? -
I made a simple mssion with two Mig-21s flying directly towards me. When I track hel with RDO in TWS mode, after a few moments the lock is lost, and both contacts disappear from the radar screen. (This could be while they are beaming the radar?) However, after a while they appear in visual range - still no contacts on the radar screen - and when I engage a boresight mode I immediatley get a lock. So, why exactly is the lock lost in RDO / TWS (PID I guess) and why do the contact (the two V's ) do not reappear when the lock is lost, while the targets are still flying directly towards me and I can even easily lock them when engaging a boresight mode? I must do something wrong there!

Thanks guys I'll give it a try!

Is there a max weight I should take into account for Carrier Take-Off? With a full A2A weapons load and sorbytsa jammers I cannot take more than 40% fuel, is that also your impression? (Of course using extra thrust and extra brake power).

Incredible guys, with your advice (TO flaps to slow down, steep approach, not too slow, flare, ...) I managed to pull it off! And not just once, but multiple times in a row, so I can start working on consistency! Many many thanks!
-
I must say I'm not there yet! about 20 attempted landings ended in tragedy! I seem to have 3 issues: - the aircraft is difficult to slow down, it seems as it has no drag! When I pull back the throttle it just continues at the very same speed. I have to maneuver to really slow it down. - In the endgame above the tarmac I always have to big of vertical speed, it falls like a rock on the tarmac. I guess I am consistently too high? - poor forward visibility due to the big nose and guns, which makes it difficult to assess your true height.

I can confirm, have this problem with F-14 and JF-17 since latest open beta patch 2.5.6
