  1. I followed some guy's video on youtube about eliminating the stiction that these sticks develop, and after the video, I have some twist. He instructs you to hone out some of the openings and posts the gimbal operates through, and I think I might have done too much. It's gotten a little worse over time as well.
  2. Vaicom has a setting in the Preferences tab of the config window to enable "Import F10 Menu". From the manual: MP Server Special Menus Through the ‘Import F10 Menus’ function it is possible to add server-specific commands to the voice commands set. Imported F10 menu items get ‘Action’ in front of the phrase: for example an imported menu item ‘Push to Waypoint 2’ would become ‘Action Push to Waypoint 2‘ on import. This can then become anything you like in the keywords editor. This import will only work if the server has implemented the F10 menu in the standard compatible manner (which is the case for most servers).
  3. Exactly. Explore the edges of it with your mouse, and you will be enlightened!
  4. Not to be one of those "well, actually!" guys, but I think it was Gillers who explained to me that's not a sunscreen, but used to keep light escaping the cockpit to a minimum possibly giving away your position at night. I'm not sure if you noticed, but that part is now completely deployable on both sides. I believe the surfaces of this light screen stopped vibrating when they added this animation.
  5. I have only been able to get George to engage with the gun when he is weapons free (no Consent to Fire required, Green George Hud mode, or however it's referred to), and even then, only at short, SHORT range, and he will not fire complete bursts, no matter what the burst is set to.
  6. Is there a USB-C on your GPU? If there was I assume you'd have already tried it.
  7. If it were only as simple as ditching StreamVR and playing with DCS settings to get good VR performance. For me it took the following... 1) Download "Skyspaces" and set the Windows Mixed Reality "Home Scene" to "Empty Room" (2 walls and a floor and nothing more), then go into Windows Mixed Reality Portal settings Headset Display and change the level of detail to LOW, and set the resolution to LOW. This will only affect the Home Scene, and nothing else. Ditching SteamVR frees up a bunch of VRAM, changing to the empty room frees up like 4g of VRAM! 2) Go into the Nvidia 3D settings, change the tab from Global Settings to Program Settings and change a bunch of the settings for application controlled, 2x antialiasing, etc 3) Now in DCS I can run high texture, medium water, medium clouds, all 3 shadow options off, msaa at 2X, 8X anisotropic, etc. After all of that, I finally get 45 solid, and perfectly fluid video in Syria, 70-80 fps in Caucasus, etc. A lot of work, but I'll never play flat screen again.
  8. Have you tried shutting off the 3 shadow options? Shadows/Secondary Shadows/Terrain Object Shadows. These are each very hard on the GPU, all 3 together is I think pushing it. I got much better performance after turning them off, and honestly don't notice a difference in visual stimuli without shadows. I had issues with my USB-C plugged into my video card's port, so I bought a slot mounted USB-C that goes directly to the motherboards USB-C connector. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DV86Y4Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 That solved some connection issues I was having with my ReverbG2
  9. Any idea how to get rid of the Eye Debug tool from starting every time I start the game?
  10. Still happening for myself and my CPG as well.
  11. It doesn't work in VR, doesn't support the numerous WP/HZ/CM/etc that the Apache does, and isn't built into DCS.
  12. Didn't Dangerzone up above disqualify that idea, citing conflicts? VR can be pretty overloading to a system with only one DCS loading, can't imagine how it'd be with two loaded. The original suggestion to ED still stands. And you didn't answer my question.
  13. Ahhh, so you have to exit the mission editor, turn VR back on, exit DCS, restart DCS from the desktop, wait however long it takes for it to get back to the main menu, load up your mission and fly it. Then if you find something else you wish to change, you have exit the mission, turn VR back off, exit DCS, restart DCS, open the mission editor, make your changes and start the whole process over again. I get it, you don't "fly" your missions. F2 and F7, and all that. Why don't I just edit missions in VR, like I currently do, and then fly them in VR to test? OR, since editing the missions in VR for extended lengths of time can be a strain on the eyes, I can come to this forum called WISH LIST, and suggest to ED to pop the Mission Editor out of the DCS codebase. Not trying to be a jerk here. I've typed this no less than 5 times, and can't find a way for it to NOT sound snarky, so I'll just tell you it isn't intended that way, aside from the point that I came here to make a suggestion to ED, not start a debate, which many of these Wish List posts made by folks turn into for some reason. Can you explain to me why popping out the mission editor would be a detriment to yourself or the community? I hope I've explained in detail well enough why I think it's a detriment to leave it inside DCS. I think myself and others could benefit greatly if they did this. Honestly, being sincere here.
  14. Yeah, I don't wish to start DCS in non-VR, edit my mission, turn VR back on, restart DCS in VR just to test the mission. I don't fly in 2D. Your suggestions still result in a crap-ton of restarts and changing of VR options. I tried Skatezilla's app, and it results in the same restarts. As cfrag said, being able to edit the mission in a stand-alone editor while simultaneously running DCS is ideal. Restart the mission with the saved changes, and test fly. I tend to put a single plane or helicopter in during my initial stages of building a mission, so as to fly around and observe to make sure the AI is doing as I told them to do, and not suddenly stopping for who knows what reason, or driving through buildings, or just doing strange things thanks to bugs in the instructions and waypoints that ED never addresses.
  15. Yeah, I have no interest to get inside there and make changes, I'm assuming all of the LED's in there now are PCB mounted, and likely a solid unit. Otherwise adding a couple LED's wouldn't be too impossible, but not for the faint of heart, drilling and soldering to existing LED's would be required. Honestly though, now that I've switched to VR, the lighting hardly matters, but I still dig having my callsign and Hornet-centric plate over the stock TM plate.
  16. The problem with the TEK creations plate is that he paid little attention to LED layout, so half the lettering was without illumination, if that doesn't matter to you then no biggie. Also for the F/A-18, Launch Bar in place of INTR Wing Inhibit for fuel control makes much more sense, imo.
  17. As one who flies in VR, it would be nice if the mission editor was not encapsulated within DCS. If I wish to edit on my monitor and test fly in VR, the process is pretty tedious, with numerous back and forth between settings and restarting of DCS. If it were it's own EXE, none of that would be necessary.
  18. One thing I have noticed when this happens, is there's a very brief pause in DCS, a lag or something, less than a second, after that, the dashed crosshair follows PHS, and if I settle on a target, the crosshair will bounce around my focus point. Changing acquisition point doesn't do anything. If I set it to fixed, the dashed crosshair will settle to the head tracker diamond, but the TADS video on the Pilots MFD (Video -> TADS -> TADS) still tracks with PHS.
  19. Not sure if it's the same as the OP, but we keep getting an issue where the Pilot and CPG desync. The CPG can see where the TADS is slewed to, target and fire, but as the Pilot, I see the dashed crosshair that is bouncing all around the Pilot Crosshair. The track is larger than 5mb, so no sure how I'm supposed to get that to you
  20. @BIGNEWY Can this code be added to the default LUA so that it isn't lost during every update to the module? I now have custom code for the Apache and the Hornet that gets erased after updates. Am I doing something wrong? Should my custom code be in my saved games folder instead of the DCSWorld/Mods/Aircraft/FA-18C\Input\FA-18C\joystick folder (etc.)?
  21. Couldn't give two schlits about realism. Is what we see in the flir video realistic at the moment? Nope, most items in the game don't have a FLIR profile. Are there fair comparisons between the views of someone on a 4K flat panel vs someone in VR? NOPE! Not even a fair comparison between VR zoom and zoom with axis. There are many limitations inherit to the sim, and many missing items, that make identification difficult. Are we getting IR beacons? So long as George stops immediately locking onto friendlies and firing on them. If it were up to me, the target list would be sorted by most dangerous threat to my aircraft shown first.
  22. Every time I lose an apache, or load into a server, I have to load in Farp's, airfields, hazards, waypoints, targets, etc. It would be nice if we could save these locally, hand them out for planned missions to our group, etc. That way I can just load up all my planned data instead of using the KU to re-enter each and every time I spawn in. Thanks in advance
  23. I have this problem occasionally with my Reverb G2 (WMR). Windows Mixed Reality program will have a banner across the top of the screen, you use L-Win+Y to make it go away but you have to be alt-tabbed out of DCS in order for that to work, refocus the DCS window, and the mouse will be back.
  24. Also rather annoying that the list will populate with tank 1 tank 2 helicopter 1 helicopter 2 etc, with no IFF and no distinction between type, etc. Not very helpful when you are trying to target an enemy and George constantly slaves on friendly units.
  25. And while you're adding that, UNDO and REDO, please. Accidentally deleting an object and having to recreate it from scratch is a PITA.
