What is MagicII DDM? How is it different from Magic2 missile.
Galinette replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in M-2000
Hi, The DDM is the missile launch warning system. It has always been there, but before last update it was an option in the mission editor. Since the DDM is attached on the magic pylon and thus not available with other weapons mounted on this hardpoint, the option was removed and it's a magic variant in the loadout window instead. The new chaff/flare amount is just realistic. 112 chaff and 16 flares internal, plus an optional Eclair M pod which includes 6 racks, each having either 8 flares or 18 chaff.- 1 reply

Hi, I am using simshaker. I tried both the test sound (15Hz sine) and other ones (engine rumbles, etc...) I tried putting the chair on 3cm latex pads, to make it wobbly. I tried mounting the BK on the bottom and back slats. On the seat frame. On the seat sides. With always the same result : slowly increasing the gain, there is a tiny window where I feel a slight vibration, and increasing the gain just a little bit, or adding a gun sound above it, and it starts thumping in an incontrollable manner. And this happens with the simshaker sound module gain set to 20% and my 100W amp is about 15-20%. I contacted the tech support by email, they say my unit is fine. If so, the vibration power you can have with those is really small.

Hi, I just purchased a Buttkicker Mini LFE with a subwoofer amp. I can't get proper results with it. I'm testing with simshaker 15Hz sine test.wav, if I set the amp to a low level I get a small vibration, and not much noise. If I increase the gain further it starts making noise (piston slamming against enclosure) and the vibration gets random (as if the piston was bouncing out of sync with the input frequency). How is the buttkicker supposed to be used? In the linear range (piston not touching enclosure), in which case the amount of vibration is tiny, or non linear, the piston hitting enclosure being "by design" ? Or do I have a defective unit?

If the carrier is destroyed and it's still guiding means your jammer was still on, maybe on user error. Proving it was not on will require a track that we can send to ED (the logic is DCS code) but I doubt it No, because you simply can't regain radar contact when guiding a 530D. But you can switch to PSP mode (flood) which can make the 530D guide again

Which aircraft were you flying and was your jammer on?

Check your PM!

Hi, That's an awesome idea! I'm not sure it's currently possible via mission scripts only but I'm not an expert in external lua scripting. The TAF device is accessible via hook scripts, such as the service mods you install in Saved Games (like SRS or Tacview) The function is : GetDevice(39):receive_external_packet(taf_data) Using TAF in missions is such a nice idea, I will ask ED whether this is possible.

There was definitely a change to BLG-66 FM, I can confirm. Now, doing CCIP with BLG66 at any altitude of 2.5kft or more has never worked in DCS, has never worked IRL, is fully out of conditions of use from the manual, and it will not change.
-
Funny people keep answering without reading (and thus understanding) the question. You are not helping here. The OP asked about issues dropping BLG-66 while dive bombing from 10000 feet AGL. Since this is completely outside specification, there wasn't any test required : yes BLG-66 should never dropped in dive bombing and yes this will lead to being completely off-target and scattering will be useless. Now if bombs fall short in normal bombing profile, this is another problem.
-
As we told you, the manual says page 558 that CCPI profile is 300-650ft AGL. You talk about 5kft and 2.5kft AGL. You can't say you are "within the manuals perimeters". I post it again.
-
Yes. Mirage CCIP is low altitude level bombing only. Anyway, CCIP is only enabled with high drag bombs. And dive bombing with high drag bombs is nonsense...
-
In fact you are right, that's a manual error

No. The best

You need to modify VCM_screen_init.lua now ! In VCM folder. Don't modify VCM_init.lua VCM is the real name for the RWR display, while SERVAL is the RWR sensor.

This was a joke. Actually McDonalds does serve bad food but people there seem to like it

Issue using a panel1 with aux connection to the throttle
Galinette posted a topic in VIRPIL Controls
Hi, I have a CM3 throttle and a Panel1 which work fine in standalone. I want to connect the panel to the throttle in order to have one less device to manage. So I updated the VPC configurator to latest (20220304). It asked me to update my device firmwares, which I did. Then I disconnected everything, connected the Panel#1 OUT to the Throttle AUX, then the Throttle USB to the computer. I let the Panel USB unplugged. I went to VPC configurator, and created a new profile for the throttle, with the Panel1 selected on the right. Then I updated the throttle. Now if i go to axis, it has 8 of them as it should. But the throttle axis 4,5,6 do not work (the raw values doesn't update at all) and the axis 7,8 (panel potentiometers) are frozen at 0 and do have a non-zero "Link Error" column value and are in red. Calibration doesn't help (as expected since the raw value doesn't work) The throttle is plugged on a powered USB hub so there should be no USB power issue. What could be the issue? Thanks! -
Asking this here is like going to McDonalds and ask whether McDonalds or KFC is better.

Swap a WarBRD base for a Mongoost base (size & drilling)
Galinette replied to Galinette's topic in VIRPIL Controls
Thanks! Damn I'm tempted to swap now... (redoing the full stick seat mount, which also includes ejection handle and is structural, would have been some work) My WarBRD definitely lacks some spring force with the extra heavy spring and 10cm extension, will the Mongoost give me significantly more stiffnesss? -
Swap a WarBRD base for a Mongoost base (size & drilling)
Galinette posted a topic in VIRPIL Controls
Hi, I have a WarBRD base attached to my simpit by removing the bottom plate (a larger aluminum board with proper drilling acts as the bottom plate) Is the Mongoost base the same footprint and bottom drilling? I thought it was much larger but recently I've looked at the dimensions and it seems to be very similar. The drilling I have currently (sized to the WarBRD) is four 5mm holes, with 69mm and 112mm spacing Thanks! -
Hi! I just flown yesterday on a server which was set in the middle of the night, with an overcast weather. I quickly climbed above the clouds, seeing the stars very well. Equipped the NVGs, and then to my surprise, the whole cloud layer was basically black, I couldn't see anything. The occasional holes in the layer letting see a quite bright ground. Is this a bug on my side? I would expect the clouds layer to be well visible under a clear sky

What the f@@@ are you doing with antenna elevation in dogfight When going back to search mode, the "awkward" position is either your last search elevation, or the last known lock elevation if you break the lock. It's a feature. You must complain to Thomson CSF.
-
In 530D and POL modes, the vertical search is not available, it’s replaced by spiral search (SVI).
-
It does work, you are doing something wrong. Check your bind, and keep trigger pressed until the S530 fires
-
How long did you press the trigger?
