  1. Considering we now have a "land anywhere" option, they might as well implement a "takeoff from anywhere" one as well
  2. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but by your definition, it is not. Some systems are not modeled in A-10C, and a handful of other may not work exactly like the real deal. So it's not a simulation, I guess... And the A-10C is not classified ? It is very much in service, and more recent than either the F/A-18s or F-15s (pretty much any versions of those). The A-10C is in fact very recent, and quite early in it's service life.
  3. None that I can think of ATM. That's pretty much the must-do tweak for me.
  4. That looks great! I'm downloading and will be testing it. On EDGE, however, you might not necessarily want to stop modding altogether, because the Caucasus map should not work with EDGE (would require to redo the whole map). So I believe any improvement you make on the map will continue to benefit everyone who wishes to use the Caucasus map (and let's face it - Nevada is great, but kinda limited too, so until there are 3rd parties terrains out, I guess both will be used concurrently). That's how I see it, however.
  5. Does it retrieve current local weather info, so that it can work with dynamic weather ? If so, that would be awesome. And would you consider releasing it as a mod or something, for all airplanes ?
  6. That would be the Z-axis translation. A lot of people use TrackIR, so that is a no-brainer for them (just move your head forward)
  7. Don't forget the rivers! "Water" they are called I think. Nothing more annoying than seeing rivers disappear just a few kilometers away.
  8. EDIT: Alright, I kinda overlooked from ED in your quote ; my point kinda stands, though What about the MiG-21Bis ? That's a supersonic one also, and it seems (from an out-of-the-loop point of view) that it's AFM is pretty close to completion (ie. fine-tuning stage), whereas we have no idea about the F-15C/Su-27. So, first supersonic AFM ? Not sure. Although from my understanding, Beczl and ED worked hand in hand to build the MiG-21 AFM, and probably it's developpement and that of the F-15/Su-27 AFMs are related. Maybe I'm wrong, though, I'm not in the know ;) Now, the first released supersonic AFM might well be the F-15, since I don't see the MiG-21 coming just now.
  9. AFAIK, the SPO (RWR) has never shown friendly EWRs. I would guess it's not a bug then. Fishbreath, you may post a mission file that doesn't work see if MadTommy or someone has it working on the same mission. Maybe even both the mission file and the track showing it doesn't work would be nice :)
  10. Actually, I think it should read "Fixed IR pointer". I made a little test with just the A-10C, and it worked like a charm :)
  11. 1. That must be a new bug, because the speeds used to match. Are you sure about that ? I will make some tests. 2. Yeah, that is a new feature, the game waits for the first aircraft to take-off before allowing the second one to spawn. If you manage to make the 2nd aircraft appear by shutting down your engines, you may want to do that after having cleared the launching position (ie. move from the launching position to somewhere else on the deck, then shut your engines). 3. "U" is AFAIK the only way to "really" get into launch position, but you don't really need it. Move into position, squeeze the brakes and let them go when you reach afterburner and you'll be good. Especially useful if you're using a launch position other thant the default one.
  12. Indeed, good to know! Thank you, paulrkiii :smartass:
  13. Well, that might be intentional. It sounds likely (or at least plausible) that the crew wouldn't turn on weapons systems before the "fence check" (don't know if that term is used for helos, but hey). Although I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to be able to choose the switches setting ; I am however wondering if that wouldn't require quite a bit of less-than-essential work.
  14. Have you used the systems enough after losing the engine ? Some hydraulic pressure is left (but does not replenish anymore) when the engine is shut down and decreases as the system is being used - you should see the hydro indicator going down the more you use thoses relevant controls you mentionned. When it falls too low, systems stop responding. I remember this used to work, but I'm not sure I tested thoroughly differentiating between left and right hydraulics.
  15. I think ShuRugal meant that if voice comms were developped, then there would be no reason not to allow users to choose sound devices and all (as Paganus complained was lacking in other internal voice communication devices). Well, that's how I read it.
  16. Easy peasy. After Corsica has proclaimed itself independant, Russia becomes the first major country to recognize it as a sovereign state, and to prevent France from taking it back by force, Vladimir Putin sends a "peacekeeping" force, led by his trusted newly-appointed General, Gérard Depardieu. :smartass:
  17. I think it would be possible to make a group stop and hold (maybe even run - by switching waypoint ?) if it has lost a set percentage of its units. I seriously doubt it is possible to change their skill, though.

    more?

Actually, there might be a few more (some not announced yet), but all are on hold until EDGE. I don't know how far they are from completion, or how long it will take to see them done once EDGE and it's terrain-making utilities are released.
  19. Bogey Dope is a request for a bearing and range to the nearest enemy plane. Strange that it doesn't give you an answer.
  20. Hopefully someone is still working on bringing the multi-crew capability.
  21. If you are Spiked, they are tracking you, not just looking for you. Anyway, I'm also wondering if the current ECM really are of any use. Especially since the burn-through range is much higher than what it was (for fighters' ECM). Also tested just a little bit with SAMs, didn't seem to make any difference. Maybe they are just useful in MP when you want to hide your exact range, or to get the bad guys' attention so that others can slip through. And even then, just barely useful...
  22. Oh, great ! Large-caliber AAA, I agree with others, this is type of threat long-overdue in DCS. How high can it be lethal ?
  23. I think the last info we had on the matter is in the answers to the 21 June Update: It kinda seems weird that fixing the issue for the Su-25 doesn't fix it for the other FC3 aircrafts, but well... I guess we'll just have to wait and see. A fix will come eventually anyway.
  24. Planned for the release, I think
  25. Sorry, half my bad. Actually, F4 doesn't really mean anything ;) It's either F4U (Corsair), F4F (Wildcat), F4D (Skyray), F4B / P-12 (no nickname) or F4H / F-4 (Phantom). Talk about details making a world of difference ;)
