Vista users need to understand, in general, UAC sucks. Of course, I'm easily annoyed when it comes to needing access to my own files. :D On a side note, after activating the game via the serial key and the second icon on the desktop, I noticed it can take quite a while for the Multiplayer options screen to load up. At first I thought it just hung or wasn't going to load....I waited a while longer and it just loaded right up.

I run at 1600x1200 4xFSAA and 16xAF and don't seem to really have any performance issues. I have all settings maxed but water at normal and visible distance at "Medium". The way I figure it, I'm in an attack helicopter in the weeds....why do I need a really long visible range. In Lock-On:FC, setting the visible range to Medium gave me quite a boost in performance, and I didn't really notice a degradation in the look in the game. The visible range is probably more important for the folks who fly fighter aircraft at altitude, rather than those who fly down low in and out of varying terrain in a helicopter.

I'll never fall for that...again! :D

Ahh ok. Hmm, I hope it is added in as well. From what I have seen here the Blackshark looks extremely detailed and this little rain tidbit could add that extra "oomph" to the atmosphere (no pun intended). Is this something we might possibly be able to mod in ourselves?

I was wondering if when it rains, will water droplets hit the cockpit glass (I noticed it mentioned somewhere that the wipers work)? Some may think this question is somewhat trivial, but if you own FSX you would undersatand how "strange" it is not actually seeing rain land on the glass (FS9 had this feature, but the MS Devleopment team "ran out of time" with regard to adding this into FSX). Rain "should" hinder visibility. lol It also adds a ton of immersion, IMO. :) If the rain does not hit the glass, is that something we can mod in, or is that something I would have to add to the "Wishlist" thread for a future patch/upgrade? Thanks!

Black Shark- Helicopter Squadrons?
JG27_Arklight replied to Backsword's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I should start a PWAMAHKSTCOPBASMAW "People Who Are Married And Have Kids So They Can Only Play Blackshark About Seven Minutes A Week" Squadron. :) -
It can't be any more difficult than flying a Robinson R-22 on a windy day. %$&$#&%*%$^%%$$*)(^%!!! lol Now, being shot at as well, that would be a whole other dimension (I haven't flown around L.A. so I don't know.) :D

I'm a guy, so I don't really pay that much attention. Next thing you're going to want me to do is read instruction manuals and ask for directions. PFFT! :D

Americans can get it from Gogamer.com (located in California, IIRC). I get all the games I want that are olny released in the UK (or released in the UK first) at Gogamer. Great service and prices. I already pre-ordered EECH2 from there in fact. :)

Just forget about BS for the time being, that will make time go by faster. Also, you might want to try out a different genre in the meantime. I am getting Armed Assault tommorrow and Silent Hunter IV week after next. Two totally different games that are both in genres that peak my interest. If you haven't checked out any other avenues, do it. Who knows, by that time you may have found something else you really enjoy. :)

I'm sure Black Shark will be pretty darn nice when it is released. I just wish that it was sooner rather than later. :) -

If it is, it took them long enough. Of course, Nvidia will be getting set to release their next refresh by then. lol -

I always run with full shadows and haze on advanced, and I haven't really seens any issues yet. I haven't seen the dark color on my SU-25T (can't speak for the others though since I don't fly them). I saw the coast line stuff with my 6800GT, but I don't think it's as bad with my 7800 GTX OC because I don't really notice it (I keep view distance on medium or far though). If the coastline is messed up, maybe I'm not paying attention, or I'm flying too low. lol I had a similar issue to what your pics show in FSX with regards to the shadows, but that was a driver or so ago. -

My 7800GTX OC runs fine with LOMAC. :) -

I think, no thanks! ATI has managed to wait just long enough to release their answer to the GTX more than likely right before the successor of the GTX is unvieled. : / Heck, the GTX and GTS are already cukoo for Coco Puffs fast. I wonder what the next few evolutions will bring. -

FWIW, I sent back my EVGA 680i and bought a Bad Axe 2 for the WC'd build I'm doing. :) -

Quite a few people are having issues with 680i boards. Cold booting, SATA corruption, instability after a few weeks, RAM issues, etc.. It's possible you could end up with a great 680i board, but keep in mind, the 680i boards out now haven't exactly "had their kinks worked out". They are still relatively new, and with all new technology it needs time to mature. The Intel Bad Axe 2 on the other hand, is an excellent board. The 975X chipset has been around a while and has matured into an extremely solid piece of hardware. There's always a chance you'll get a "bad board", but I would go out on a limb and say that the chances of getting a "bad" Bad Axe 2 are quite a bit lower then getting a "bad" 680i. -
aaaaaannnnnnnndddddddddd there goes another pair of shorts. Great vid!!!!
