I was trying to host a server for 6 last night. However it wouldn't show up in the master list no mater what I tried. I had the firewall off on my router and my pc. Had to play with a friend over hamachi to get any connection.

You can fly against anyone else in the world. You just cant fly the aircraft you don't have installed, or didn't pay for. *Edit* Viper on the Sniper

It should be possible. It just needs a lot of tweaking. The file structure has changed some. For the better from what I can tell. Also some of the LUA files need to be updated. Dsc world files don't use some of the LUAs that mattered before. My 1st try was simply installing the mod into dcs world and forcing it to work that way. It broke my install as my last post said. When I became more selective, it worked just fine. Just need to expand on what works and rewrite what doesn't.

I fixed my axis problems, it seems there's two left thrust, two right thrust, two pitch, two roll, ect ect in the controllers screen. If you select the wrong one the aircraft isn't controllable. The other works just fine. Air to ground works well on most planes I tested. Air to air is limited as I have not been able to get radar going. Need someone to donate me a pit to test with that's not the Su25t. And I hit 85000 feet in a mig 25 before the game crashed.

I managed to get it working. Sorta. I'm having major joystick issues. However the key assignments and axes are working. Here's a very quick and dirty how to do it. And C:\Users\<your user here\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input <<<--- Paste the file in here. It will show up in your options screen now. This is how I got extra aircraft to configure controls Under Windows 7, 64bit. I do not know if it will be different for other operating systems. I had some very interesting things happen but nothing related to this. I never managed to get control of the aircraft. But was able to get it to show in the Quick Mission generator. Made a mission for the fighter I picked. Just couldn't fly it. I managed to break my install as well. Re installing and will try some more this weekend. I'm sure ED has something big planed.

Don't know if you've read, but DCS World may be a better choice for your mod.

I would pay for a 3d pit for the cockpit shadows alone for the 25t. $5.99 for an updated pit would be reasonable. 3rd part devs, GET TO WORK NOW!

If I were to guess. Which I am guessing. The 3rd party would have to release a free model for the dcs world the is not flyable. So joining players can see the proper model. It doesn't have to be the same high poly model. But a filler that the player would have to install to play online with mods he doesn't own. We will see how this is overcome soon enough. My question is how do I make a mission for the MIG21 before it comes out. I want to have a online server going day 1. Su25s running from MIG21s. O yeah.

Any chance you see ED issuing a ED net account for only DCS world? The core is all that is needed to host multiplayer server.

Ok, I was under the impression you needed an aircraft installed into DCS world for it to work. This puts a twist into the test I want to do. If I want to use Dcs world as a server host for the other dcs titles, I have to install a dcs title on the machine. I can't install a dcs title on a VM because of starforce. Dcs world cannot go muiltplayer without a dcs title installed. Ed. Your already giving the Su25t away for free in single player. Why not just allow is in multiplayer and give the public a real taste of what dcs is about? I can get 5 people I know to play the 25t right now if it was online. But they don't want to learn to play offline. It doesn't appeal to them as a single player game. I know a taste will get them hooked.

Yes, on another hardrive. Or does that not matter? I noticed that the dcs world had a config file for A10, BS, and the Su25t. But nothing for P51. All of ED products made a directory in my "save games" files on my C drive.

I don't have 40$ for flight sims atm. I have to put gas in my car and pay rent. Maybe it will go on sale for Christmas. Dcs world if free and I have work to do there for now. P51 is out of my price range for now.

I only installed Dcs world, I was able to join MP servers and watch people fly P-51s. It's was panzertards midget tossers. Of somwthing like that.

I installed DCS world. I didn't see any starforce activation. This weekend, ill get some of my tech buddies together and try a VM.

Is there any type of DRM with DCS world? With a free game? If starforce is gone, does that mean we can start hosting DCS on a dedicated server VM? Or are there more barriers to hosting on a VM I am not aware of?

Why can't the SU25 be available from our ED net account online? Instead of having DSC P51 installed in DCS world. I know we have to wait for A10 and Blackshark2, but what would have to be done in order for it to be account based, not installed based. Like Rise of flight. Were all the aircraft are there, but you can only fly the ones you own. What I thought was going to happen with dcs, One program everyone has installed that was the same. Everyone would have DCSA10, Blackshark2, FC3, combined arms, and p51 installed. But as a user, you could only use the parts you paid for. The current setup looks more like FSX. One core that you install mods into. Is this the core system ED is going for?
