Microcenter does in store sales. I was able to get a i5 2500k for 175$.

Don't know. I would pay for the MIG21 mod for FC2 to be fully supported and put into DCS.
-
Chinayf, what country are you in? It helps us know what web sites to check prices on.

I would love to see this updated in FC3. And when DCS fighter rolls around. It will have to be updated in some form. Having a fully simulating fast mover doesn't work without properly modeled weapons. I really see this as the next major update to the series (along with some radar work, there's a lot to be added). Don't get me wrong. The missiles in FC2 are a good representation when it was made. + to frostie. Hopefully it will be updated in the future.

I have not forgotten about this thread. I have been moving the last 2 weeks. I still don't have the internet as my apartment. So a phone update today. No pictures cause bad upload speed. I'll post a bunch when its fixed. School is still going well. I was able to try out liquid dye testing in NDT. That was cool to find the defects in worn out parts. Did an AD on the Allison 250's nut. The Garrett 731 has some unique issues to contend with. Mostly a problem locating parts that are missing and finding parts that need to be replaced.

I recommend the 2.5gb version from EVGA. I find DCS using up to 2.1gb of vram with some mods installed. You can decide if its worth the extra cost.

I would vote for a F-5 tiger. Would be a fun aircraft to fly. Single seat and should have enough data to model correctly.

I know absolutely nothing about tanks other than how to kill them in DCS. And that the main gun makes an awesome boom! I wouldn't be a very good beta tester as such. FYI it would be nice if you put a link to your forums in your Sig. I know you already linked it. But would still be nice.

I guess I was flying at HoF. I've had the fuzing error. I've also had releases where it went and prematurely let go of its load. Kinda awkward.
-
You can't toss a cbu under its HoF. It will simply disperse upon release. It takes a little planning to use the 87 down low.
-
When attacking low. I tend to use a low HoF and the highest RPM. It makes for a good show. My example would be to start a run at 100agl and right before you get to the targets, pull up above HoF and release the egress out low. Good when your avoiding long range Sam threats.

Knowing Quicksilver. He wants the 1st copy. I'll take one too. Keep up the good work. I'm watching this sim.

Sadly, Combined Arms hasn't had any sort of detailed features list nailed down yet. If it goes any thing like the UAZ Easter egg. It could get very interesting. If it goes like the beta jtac, it will be more like an rts. I would like for Ed to start to highlight this product some more. I'm its current state, there just no excitement for the project. Off topic, I know. Gbu- 39. Next airframe. We hope.

Make each helicopter its own group. I had a mission where helicopters and aircraft kept trying to land on the same runway and would crash into each other. Just a thought.
-
Real life experience there? The real issue is that it takes more than 9 months for ed to pop out a baby. When A10 was being worked on, I remember people just asking everyday where is it. We only knew of one project. But now we know of 5 projects. Dcs: fighter, Dcs p-51, combined arms, EDGE Nevada, and FC3. I think people have a hard time understanding how long this all takes. And those who do understand don't wait any possible delays. I am curious to know, when did ED and TFC start DCS: P-51? Unofficially? I hope ED stays busy, makes profit, and makes more perfect combat aircrafts. I don't mind Dcs P-51. It will be a fun aircraft to fly. But ED will cross the line for me when they focus on something the doesn't have a gun on it. ( or gunpod )

My fiancee likes to fly Blackshark. She only knows 3 buttons. Auto start, auto stop, and trim. She just started to put the gear up after a few months of flying. She never flies combat missions. Just enjoys free flight. I would never tell her, but she's better at it than me. I've seen her land on the destroyers in BS2. The crazy part is was her 2nd try. She can fly under most the bridges. At least the ones that are high enough. And I forgot to mention. It's on full simulation mode.

Force Feedback on a Collective Stick
Krebs20 replied to 4c Hajduk Veljko's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark

Update I think its time for an update. I have finished my GFE731 tasked to start with. Now I'm focusing on a blade inspections. I took off the front inlet to make my life easier. Clean clean clean. Type I inspection dyes coming up. The rest of my class is tearing down Rolls Royce Allison 250's. Here a shot of a compressor. One group has to still get an engine to work on. They have to get it out still. I was helping them when ever I got light headed on MEK. We took all the lines off and wiring harnesses. We ran out of time to pull the motor. We left all the main bolts in and have the hoist locked. Tomorrow we can pull the bolts then the motor all at once. Should make some good photos if I can. Unless they need my help. PT6 on the King Air. Its in the hanger now so we can work on it next week. The Barron was sent out into the cold.

I see some real iron eagle crap in future dcs...

A little off topic. Any idea when DCS: Combined Arms will have its own sub forum? Or is Combined Arms going to be renamed to not sound like an ARMA expansion?

Wonderful 1st dcs Mustang post!.

Your my savor Deadman. Got one on amazon for 30$. I am no longer looking for parts. Thanks you to all who have helped.

Still Looking.

GGTharos, you try so hard yet no one will listen. But you of all people should know that the fans is DCS won't think further than anything that was officialy announced. Everything is subject to change.

Time for an update. The engine oil/lubricating system has been torn down and reassembled. The metal chip detector, Checked OK. My 150 hour inspection has only the generator spline shaft left to be inspected and its good to go. In the picture the filter was still removed. We plan to reuse it. Its a test stand engine, but the manual also says its okay if passes inspection. The old oil was breaking down. That's what prompted the tear down and cleaning. Its all reassembled and safety wired now. Did I mention that the teacher was going to have me learn this engine by doing its service functions on hour inspection table. When I complete the last 150 hour inspection, Ill start doing the 300 hr ones. That will be some fun stuff. Like tearing out the fan! In my systems class, we are working on oxygen systems. I had to smile when the teacher handed out the on demand system. (see pic) It was like I have seen it somewhere before:smartass:. In electrical systems we are working on Nickle cadmium batteries. I have been assigned this one. I have a full service to do on it. I was also giving a lead acid battery. But I didnt bother to take a picture of that. Its in another room and cannot be put near the NiCad or risk them neturalizing each other. Not cool. If anyone hasn't noticed. I don't take pictures of other classmates and I wont. So all of my pictures wont have any life in them. A sign of whats happening when the school closes. Still makes me sad. In no order, CH-47, 2X Cessna 172s, Cessna 206 Turbo, and the Cessna 210. The Lear 23 and Huey Ill keep taking pictures Sobek. I know my post my be hard to read and all over the place. But its helping me collect my thoughts on what I'm learning each day and helps me process it before I go to bed. @ leafer, Money and politics. This is an expensive program, that can't be ignored. But the school board just canceled it without any attempt to cut cost 1st. Its really frustrating. There's really nothing that can be done about it. The board has the power to do that. Sadly they are cutting one of best aviation schools in the Midwest. Because it cost money they would rather spend on office furniture. They almost had to pass getting new this year but they found a way to increase that budget. I could make a wall of text a mile long on what was said and how it went down. But I'm not effected by the program shutting down, and I'm very angry that its getting canned. Everything I show on this thread will never be taught again. No one can come to my school and be an AMT. I will be the last. I'm sure as hell not going to mess it up. /endrant!
