As far as i know/understand the problem ED is modelling 2 different Datalink systems/protocols and the DCS engine is limited to 1 system per plane/awacs. So if you make the JF-17 compatible with RED AWACS everyone who plays the JF-17 as BLUE will complain and vice versa. You/we will have to live with that until ED improves this i guess.
-
I get the point that you can't change MP missions because you're not the admin/mission creator but if the admin told you they use default coalition and that "is the problem" they can't add the E-3 AWACS for the RED side this is nonsense(?), because if you look at the picture: Or i misunderstood what you meant, please ignore me.

HB could work around the problem TRAM/WCSI/SWIP by just doing the A-6A I would prefer atleast an A-6E TRAM - but wouldn't mind if it is newer or totally old school.
-
I don't have a link right now but i remember PilotMi8 saying that they will not develop the bomb sight for the MI-8. As always, everything is subject to change in DCS - so maybe if they ever overhaul the MI-8 maybe they will do it? But last info i know is: no.
-
The same for me, download was that fast i didn't even had the time to look how big the update was I guess that says we don't own that campaign - so nothing to patch - but Raven (Elysian Angel) does.
-
There was a patch announcement yesterday but according to the changelog it was just for one paid(?) DLC campaign. Maybe they thought releasing a patch just for a campaign isn't worth it.

The focus in the video are satellites but it is an interesting explanation how it works.

Hi Kristoffer79, this post of yours + a short track would have been a good bug report. I had some time to test and reproduce the issue. @uboats steps to repruduce: - HUD SOI -> move the HUD targed diamond around -> T5 press(lock target) -> TGP slave -> TGP SOI -> move TGP around -> T5 press(lock target) -> HUD SOI -> you can't move the HUD target diamond anymore, if you reset the target diamond it will recenter but you can't move it The problem seems to be to have 2 SPI(?) - 1 from the HUD target diamond + 1 from the TGP because if you: - HUD SOI -> move the HUD targed diamond around -> T5 press(lock target) -> TGP slave -> TGP SOI -> move TGP around -> HUD SOI T2 press(unlock target) -> TGP SOI -> T5 press(lock target) -> HUD SOI -> HUD target diamond works fine! or in short: - HUD target diamond locked + TGP lock = problem with HUD target diamond any other combination works fine HUD target diamond locked + TGP = fine HUD target diamond + TGP locked = fine Track file attached is on the SYRIA MAP! Video attached showes some combinations working and the problematic combination starts ~50seconds JF-17_HUD+TGP_cursor.trk

@Fri13 +1 But i think we have to wait longer than DCS 3.0 for all of that but i would be gladly wrong on that

Yeah, thats my understanding too. Like the "F-18 buddy tanker"

[CHK] Hud tgp slew diamond disappears sometimes.

Could you please supply the requested information/files like asked for in the following thread? I must admit i don't use it often but a quick test on my side showed nothing(i can't reproduce your problem). - HUD SOI moving the cursor around -> ok - resetting the cursor and moving again -> ok - resetting the cursor and moving it up/left/right out of the "visible zone" and back again into the "visible zone" -> ok - resetting the cursor and moving again/moving out of "visible zone" and resetting -> ok - .... I recorded the test so you can check(easier for you than downloading/replaying the track, should be 1440p after YT processing) -
But that was his name right? Cole, Virgil Cole While his call sign was "Tiger". Like with Jake "Cool Hand" Grafton .

I have no problems with support missions in DCS, my most flown module is the MI-8 - troop transport, internal cargo, sling load/precise dropping is still challenging and fun. Flying straight or circle to refuel somebody? Today i can only see MP for that role, maybe later with the dynamic campaign this will change. But that ED needs to provide a better infrastructure in DCS for many features is urgent, Reconnaissance for example. You can do ELINT missions with the Viggen but in the end it is not very usefull in the current DCS environment.

I'm really glad HB has announced to make the A-6! Free for the Team!!!! Considering the KA-6 question, i think i would try it but i think i would get bored by it(not a big MP guy). I would be interested to know if ED(HB?) will update the jtac to use the "radar transponder" so the position of that transponder is shown on the A-6 radar and you can set up an OffsetPoint from the transponder position to attack the target.(for targets not visible on radar and bad weather) I know, it's to early to answer that question but still....
-
Yeah but we had also this statement from Cobra/HB: So i hoped for an announcement that they got the license and the FF A-6 will be a thing. Looks like i/we have to wait a "little" longer. I'm going to watch the movie "Flight of the Intruder" now to fight my depression.
-
It would be cool but if it will happen or if it is just the cloud showcase video we will see in less than 15min. EDIT: Nice video, cool shots but sadly no A-6 FF module confirmation But the couple scenes with the A-6 are real beauty shots
-
For sure would be a nice addition to the Jeff.

Have a look at page 1 of this thread, the first post of uboats:

Not all problems must be software problems, so no massive face palm but an easy fix it was.

We had that picture somewhere here already(discussed), can't find it in a hurry. But that MI-24 in that picture is one flown by the US as a "eastern weapon demonstrator", so take everything you can see on that picture with caution. Have a look on the inner pylon for example, the rail with the red dot on the front.... OT My wallpaper, i know the "wrong" model for DCS but i still prefere the looks of the models with the chin turret. Also kudos to the Czech Republic, i just love your paint schemes for the Mi-8 & Mi-24! (should be in DCS by default for both modules)

I just had a crash with the latest DCS OB, it's been a while since the last crash so i thought i just drop the files here, maybe there is something usefull in it and hopefully it's not crashing again. Parenthetically i was testing the new F/A-18 sea AG radar mode with 4 harpoons. It has been some time since i took the 18 out for a ride. - cold start at airfield - was shooting 4 harpoons at convoy - 1 harpoon went the totally wrong way - must have screwed up something - 3 harpoons went for the same ship in the convoy - it looked like 1 harpoon was slightly clipping one of the escort ships before it impacted the cargo ship behind it - so i thought i will quit the mission to have a look at the track and tacview file -> hit esc -> next click DCS quit working Attached is the DCS generated log files dcs.log-20210204-092636.zip

@Blinky.ben This is what i see if i replay your track(didn't record to the end). Like LJQCN101 said, you have a right rudder input and that causes the wobble at the start and the "weired" flight behaviour you see/encounter. If you would test any other module with an air start and would intentionally put some right rudder input before you hit fly you would see the same behaviour. That would also explain why you never see this with a ground start -> you are using your rudder(taxi) -> recentering your false(?) rudder inputs. If i do an air start in the JF-17 i don't have that problem like you. So i would say maybe do a re-calibration of your pedals or move them a little left/right before you hit fly.

That sounds like the cyclic trim. I remember a video of PilotMi8 as they implemented the sling load feature(DCS 1.x?), he was dropping a sling load cargo on top of a building roof and he also used(you could hear it) the trim quite often, that was the point were i started to use the trim more often and it was quite a game changer to fly the MI-8 that way for me, it makes the MI-8 absolute stable/comfortable in every manouver(i don't have a ffb joystick).
-
@scoobie Ha, i have also key bindings on my HOTAS for all 3 crew stations. If you carry sling loads and switch to the crew chief position you are not in the cockpit anymore but back in the cargo compartement and looking through the sling load opening down at the sling load/ground -> if you need to be extra precise in dropping it.
