I'm with Slap Chop, hang in there and try basics at first - just fly from A to B. When that gets "boring" add something to it, like strafe a house (I'm sure there are bad guys inside). Slowly add features and tricks. DCS A-10C is very much like Falcon4, you can fly it for a year or two and still find things to learn so don't try to grab it all in one big bite - it will choke you.

Very nice. Still, the 1.2.7 is not final and above that, what ED is aiming for is primarily net-stability and being a bigger issue while also severe I think we shouldn't blame them if out Mustang has to wait one patch to get improvements. "First thing first" as some say.

Thank you very much VapoR, this is exactly what an Falcon4 pilot as me look for in DCS and not quite managed to create in the script engine as of yet. Let's hope it turns out ok too and not falls into performance and other DCS pockets.

Isn't there a small secret 39 addon somewhere never to be released? Some Hungarian team/modder IIRC. Would love to see that in DCS.

You read too much into the title. "DCS 1.2.7 Open Beta" is the product discussed and "Preliminary Changelog" indicates what is to be roughly expected when the beta patch goes live. Internet.

Well put Grinch, and I'm all with you on every single point. What I'd like to add though is this diversity of modules should be seen as "growing pains" and the set of air vehicles is most probably a "first try" from all 3rd party teams before they makes an attempt at other "block buster" names. Still there is a risk that DCS name will take hits for all these not connected modules while the product is getting more mature/coherent. Meanwhile I guess efforts put into this, such as by eno/WC, are rather important to keep the mp folks interested (even though I think many non-mission-creators miss what experience is behind what they do and might focus on what is percieved as missing - but I guess that's how life usually goes). edit: firefox scriptblocker made this well formatted text look like it does :)

Same issues I had :) As Roy and Slipball says, that's way too fast. 150 to 160 is what you should have before turning in for final - then apply full flaps (some have better success staying away from full flaps) and let the speed drop to 120 just before runway and then put the wheels on the tarmac just below 100. (I still baloon like a madman on landing but usually I can save the bird in time - will ask groundcrew to install shocks on the gear)

Hi Mizzy, I feel your pain and I think most e-pilots have a handful of rage quits before getting the P51-takeOffs to work fairly good. With your limited time I think you should go for FC3 and easier products as the DCS series vehicles cost a lot of time before one gets anything useful out of them. Keep on struggling, it is doable (try only half throttle).

Spectre, Personally I re-use ED "bare metal" folder for that metal finish and those SPEC files in particular referenced in the description file. Grab my link above and copy/paste all you can if you think that setup is good enough.

I'm all with agrasyuk on this (and andy). I do have the P51, still not putting a cent in. There is something like bad rep. and it can be harvested by posting banjo videos as answer to customers complaints. This time, I'll wait until a working product is out - and has been out for some time - stable - no matter if ED or RRG is to blame.
