Barthek's CAUCASUS REDONE 2022
Archer.xd replied to Barthek's topic in Texture/Map Mods for DCS World
Is it breaking IC for you guys as well? Textures looks great but I'm 100% a multiplayer guy, cant play with these null -
Not possible, only the aircrafts placed in the same group from the mission editor can be in the same flight. And you can't mix the airframes in the group.
-
I don't really care about people's BFM tactics. I want the sun at the same position for entire mission, even if it lasts 30 days.
-
What if one wants the sun to be at the same position all that runtime? I think if we had it as an optional thing it'd be cool.
-
Draw tool in the mission editor is already cool and many things can be done with it. But, If we had a draw tool that can be used while playing, and maybe a reset&erase option for it, it'd be really good imo. Maybe with some way to share the drawings with the other planes in the same flight.

Occasional massive FPS drop on Enigma Cold War Server
Archer.xd replied to Picure's topic in Game Performance Bugs
It's a RAM issue. The more crowded the server gets, you'll need much more ram. I had similar problems with almost identical specs, upgrading to 32gb ram made the game run like a butter. -

F-18 Radar issues and pilots either say it is broken or working
Archer.xd replied to Ramstein's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
It's usually people using it wrongly. You need to use the TWS and as soon as you lock a target, you need to switch to AUTO. And, you need to use the correct PRF (I use HPRF 99% of time) + increasing the memory timer can help even more. I never had a problem that it was dropping lock -
Pretty straightforward, I think we could have an option to set the mission to not have the time cycle, like if its set to 12:00 local time it'll always stay on that time. One may ask why? Basically for the servers like BFM arenas, so we can extend the server restart time by a bit more.

Radar FPS loss, with any state change, only once per state
Archer.xd replied to MelonatorPL's topic in Bugs and Problems
Having the same. 1-2 sec of moderate fps drop when switching to vertical scan mode, 2-3 sec of huge fps drop when it locks something. Goes down to 20fps from 144 -
reported Sun flare on cockpit glass is overdone
Archer.xd replied to Foogle's topic in Bugs and Problems
Same problem here, lens/flare effect is disabled. But still when compared to viper its way overdone and looks really bad : f1 on left viper on right - canopies closednull -
As of now radar control stick scale selection left/right bind does not make it 1 step to left/right. Instead it goes all the way to the designated way. idk if this is intended or not but I think its not so useful with this way.
-
Yep, you can export cockpit displays pretty easily but as I said to export F2 you have to run another DCS on your pc. I use two of my old android tablets for exporting cockpit displays, still pretty handy.
-
Not all of them. Like the AGM-84K. Give it a pre planned target and it'll hit from 150nm distance without any manual terminal guidance. Or the AGM-62WE, once you designate a target for it, you don't have to guide it manually.
-
To do that you need to run 2 instances at the same time. You can use your tablet as a secondary display, but you can't put the F2 view on it while you are flying from the cockpit.

Abiliity to fire&forget, multiple guiding methods and longer ranges?

New to DCS, pulling my hair out
Archer.xd replied to TheWingflyer's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Would love to help more but Im out of ideas If both are functioning correctly in the windows controller test (Run->joy.cpl) they should be fine. If they aren't, then yeah theres a big possibility that you've got a faulty set. I hope you'll find a solution soon Like this : -
Radar Antenna Elevation Axis Control
Archer.xd replied to Archer.xd's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Ah alright, np either way just to make myself clear. Sometimes some people get it the wrong way around -
New to DCS, pulling my hair out
Archer.xd replied to TheWingflyer's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
X-56 doesn't need drivers. If you see the throttle unit as recognized in the windows controller settings, click on "rescan devices" when you run the DCS from adjust controls page. I didn't have any problems with it -
Radar Antenna Elevation Axis Control
Archer.xd replied to Archer.xd's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
It's a sincere request, I don't have any time to sit here and do trolling over a simple input problem. And I don't want them to change it to only the way I want. Many modules have special options tab where you can customise them to better suit your gameplay. Like AH-64 trimmer, trigger guard. F/A-18's realistic TDC slew etc. And theres not many people out there have spring loaded rotaries on their throttles. I don't want to upgrade my hotas just to have it working better for literally a single thing. If there was an option for that to better suit classical rotaries, I'd be happy about it. Meantime, I'm having to use one of my 4-way hats as a 2-way, up/down radar antenna. It's slow, hard to adjust, and definitely not as comfortable as it'd in a rotary. (I use that for F-16's controls. Works perfect.) -
Radar Antenna Elevation Axis Control
Archer.xd replied to Archer.xd's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Bump, I still think we can get an ****unrealistic**** second option for radar elevation to better suit with non-spring loaded rotaries. Realism is not a big thing in these kind of things, we got similar things in apache so why not for hornet -
+1 on this. Required disk space for the dedicated server has been becoming really annoying after every big update for past year. Its not always so easy to add a HDD to the server, and often costs money. I have a 2TB HDD but still, if one day I'd want to downgrade my server I can't because of the unnecessary maps' sizes. Falklands alone -> 40 GB Marianas, The Channel, Normandy, Nevada, Persian Gulf total -> 68 GB I never host a mission on these terrains and don't plan to do so. It'll be really nice to have those optional

requested ME option for ground units
Archer.xd replied to =BoB= David's topic in Improved FLIR System
+1 to this, especially some units are just invisible in FLIR imaging which makes creating night missions a huge pain. Would love to have this to both late activation units and normal ones. -
Its the same "as in they are still too easy" ≠ its the exact same "as in nothing changed" I appreciate the work been going on lately and its obvious that some of the problems have been improved. However, there are still problems as I've posted another track, and some others also did. Is it better? yeah, it's not going completely trash after simple turns. Is it good as it was before (early to mid 2021)? definitely not imo. Again, I and many others appreciate the last update as it made 120s somewhat better in certain scenarios. But, they are still too easy to evade, especially at low altitude and even in extremely close ranges. I will post more tracks later on, have my final exams going on atm and can't get on it much. Meantime, please watch the .trk and the video I've posted yesterday. Thanks again for the work has been going on.
