To mmaruda: I think that with further optimizations we will get better FPS. Everyone here should realize one thing, the Simulation genre is the most demanding piece of software. always was and always will, no one can imagine all the calculations, physics, weather, AFM, WAFM, that you need to apply every second. I remeber those F4 and EF2000 times where there wasnt computer to run it at acceptable fps. Maybe multicore support will help sometimes in future. Now, only way to run this sim smooth is to buy the latest greatest PC that is available at the moment on the market.

There must be some kind of confllict between AF in drivers and ingame. After switching AF to app controled my FPS jumped about 30 percent up maybe update helped a lot too. good work ED

Same problem here, i am on half fps than i was with 1.2.0 Is it feature :-) I hope they will optimize it to get it on par just like in 1.2.0. 1.2.1 is a big disappointment for me, perfomance wise. i will revert back to 1.2.0 right now.

I think DCS could be a good platform for future FS but it would need a major overhaul especially in multicore support and terrain engine generator :-) something like xplane has but i think we dont have PC for it yet.

I think we all should realize that sim genre is the most demanding piece of software. always was and always will. Most often i hear on these forums "my crysis and BF3 runs smooth but DCS cant". yes it cannot because there is so much computation all the physics, weapons, systems, afm, wafm and this is because we all want it as hardcore as it can be. and that all requires top end systems. Look at FSX and falcon, falcon was able to run smoothly 10 years after release date when systems were powerfull enough , fsx is still not able to run smoothly even on the latest highend computers. right now its necessary to wait for dx11 which could offload some computations from cpu and ulticore support and maybe for next versions until ED makes some optimizations to DCS world.

Try to buy coolermaster hyper 212+ cooler its not that expensive and i am runing my cpu on 4GHz> overclock is easy i am sure that someone will help. use a good thermal paste it makes a miracles.

I just want to thanks to Bigfoot for this, altough i finished all camapaigns and dont need the training its really nice to see there are people who want to make this sim understandable to as many as possible. thanks again

Lets think its just hypothetical now, we know that coretexdesigns is working on f-18 and VRS will decide they want to make f-18 for DCS too? Does it mean VRS will never get the licence? And what if ED decides to make f-18 all by themselves? What does it mean for coretex?
