I am running into this now as well.. Never really bothered by it, but now I could use this feature.. ;-)

Hoi there, When you say ED testing phase, what exactly does that mean? What is being tested, Is this milestone testing or final test before ED approval? Tia for any tidbit you can share with us.

In game the runway is as smooth as glass with older concrete slab textures. You could use moon craters as textures, but the runway will still be smooth to the touch. (Figuratively speaking of course)

As a pilot myself I would trust real MiG pilots to tell me if the experience they have irl compares to the experience they have flying the MiG in DCS. Sometimes it's not just about simulating things into perfection but more about conveying the "feel" or "thrill" of flying the real thing to PC pilots. If MiG pilots recognize this bouncing on the runways when they fly the MiG, then by all means keep it like this. Also remember that runways in the east used to be quite poor compared to western counterparts. I can attest to that. Older runways are (way) more slippery en not as smooth (understatement) as the newer runways. So even while the runways in DCS are really (really, really) smooth. MiG's used to be flown out of older runways where they might have bounced around quite a bit more then on modern runways. So my interpretation is that basically the behaviour on older poorly constructed runways is modelled in the bouncing behaviour of the 21. And I think that if the MiG's would use a DCS smooth runway irl the bouncing would be quite a bit less. So, what do you want? The real MiG pilot's experience, or the "perfect" simulated experience with DCS standard smooth runways? I would go with the former.

When I have Question, I Google it. Or find other ways to find the answer myself. Asking easy questions like this here is just being very lazy.

Excellent! Works real well on my Galaxy S4, Nice uncluttered interface. +1 I am thinking if there could be an improvement in the sorting of chapters from a practical pov. Once in mission it would be handy to select your plane and then have your specific pages handy. So some kind of flexible sorting of pages. Say you fly the A10, then you'd have - Checklists - Emergency - Airports - References Available. (or something like it) and a [Home] button which will take you always back to the main page of the plane you have selected. That way navigating whilst in mission is quickest and most logical. And only info specifc to your plane is available. It's just a thought.

Lol! +1

Tapatalk problem: Solved I noticed that in Tapatalk I don't get all the threads that are available on the forum. In Tapatalk for example I can't see the FW 190 annnouncement thread by Wags. I have already deleted my Eagles forum in Tapatalk and added it again. Solved: While writing this post I realized that I haven't tried to wipe data/cache from my Tapatalk app. ( I have backupped and restored it several times using Titanium backup ) I have done so and logged in fresh with my Eagle account and all is well.

This goes for nearly all projects I have come across, being it game development, hardware like the Ouya, and mobile phones like the Oneplus One. The common denominator is that the team is usually small and have hardly any clue about managing a large internet based community. And from what I read on the fora is usually moaning about lack of updates, not being clear or not being up front about issues. It is my belief that 98% of all these complaints can be prevented by scheduling, and continuing to do so, weekly or bi-weekly updates. Screenshots, a small description of a system, a picture of a desk overloaded with junkfood... Everything goes as long as your potential customers feel they are being kept in the loop. Even major delays or issues can be accepted, grudgingly in that case, with open and up front communication about it. And being open with your community can have its advantages as well. look at DCS Dora, with the early release of the manual there have been a lot of errors identified already. The last part of the quoted message really hits the spot. Use your forum time wisely. Start a new thread for every update. At the same time use that post in an email newsletter to which people can subscribe. Use some levelheaded people to monitor the forum to point out any issues. That way you could dedicate your forum time to do more important stuff like family, kids. Flightsims are way cool, but in the big picture really not that important. And lastly, if you need cash, start a pre-order thingy.... My cc is waiting..

When the KS started I couldn't find any package to suit my needs... ie, digital only. When the paypal option appeared I opted for that, reduced my KS pledge to $1 and I think I paid $80 or $90 via the new method. So for me nothing changes. My only concern is that I have paid for alpha access and I would still love to have that. I already have the DCS P-51 in my hangar, but perhaps I can make someone happy with that license.

Being kept in the dark by ED, and then being surprised by them is something different. Here I have paid RRG $91 for amongst other things alpha access and weekly updates. As far as I'm concerned he has neglected on the latter part of that deal. Very simple, and as far as I'm concerned unforgivable. If you go the kickstarter route to gather funding for your project the minimum you could do is deliver on the parts you can. In my world that means providing information on a weekly basis. AS PROMISED and PAID FOR.

I generally buy all flightsims out there. Some of which I haven't even flown! All to support the community. I backed development, bought multiple copies sometimes. My primary reason for supporting this one was the 190. At that time I didn't even know that the 190 was a ED project. Just that it was being developed for DCS World. I feel cheated by this whole charade. Whish I never had supported this project. I know unforseen circumstances can alter timetables. But the complete and utter silence, completely disregarding their own Kickstarter promisses and Kickstarted policy, makes this project look like a scam.

And another update-less Friday has passed... there's goodbye to $91...

Friday April 25, 2014 Development Update – Taking Flight
Koriel replied to luthier1's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Ahh... I get it now.. It's perfectly acceptable to NOT fulfill even the first KS promise. Shame on us who forked over some money to be at a minimum kept into the loop. The only only reason I paid up for this charade ($80) was to be able to fly the 190 at the earliest possible opportunity. Looking at the screenshots Wags posted recently I might assume that the 190 is in alpha, perhaps even close to beta stage. That's what I paid for. ALPHA access. I can handle all the 3rd party delays with other teams.. I haven't paid them yet. RRG however has got my money. I have paid for alpha access and they haven't delivered. Thinking about it, it's even close to a breach of contract.. And all this wouldn't matter if RRG would just COMMUNICATE be HONEST and EXPLAIN what's going on. -

Newbies, all of you! First flightsims were on the ZX81 and ZX Spectrum. Back in oh 82 or so. I had the Psion simulator, some kind of monochrome F15 with which you could even dogfight and a helicopter (Apache ?) simulator. That one even fired hellfire missiles at tanks.

From the finished KS campaign they expected to go Alpha in Februari. It's now May, an overrun of 3 months. And with the no real tangible evidence that Alpha is close. I'd say that they have planned everything pretty poorly. I also checked the KS money distribution. 20% for KS expenses? I just don't understand why they have't gone they way IL2-BOS have done it. Just support and get early access. This way people can just spend money on projects as they find out about it and have money to spend. Same goes for other projects, MiG 21 and the Hawk for instance.

Which aircraft do you enjoy flying the most?
Koriel replied to IonicRipper's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Voted for the Flanker, but atm with the PFM I like the actual flying in the Eagle better. Once you have flown a real fighter with PFM the other fighters really feel scripted and on rails. I can't wait for the Flanker make-over. Soon is not quick enough! -

Koriel replied to Diegeist's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
When you ordered the P-51 thru the website your keys must be still somewhere in your account. goto digitalcombatsimulator.com website, Personal, My orders.. when you see the list of products you have bought you will find in the right column the details link. There you will find your key. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/order/ -
FW190D: estimated availability 04/2014
Koriel replied to ishtmail's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I selected as additional rewards Alpha Access.. and the DCS Dora. Since the Dora will be available within a month. shouldn't I have alpha access to the Dora right now?
