Was checking out the models in game, everything is absolutely beautiful, can't wait to fly it!

Nukes and radar guided AT missiles? I won't need to fly the A-10 ever again, looks like we're getting the perfect multi-role jet :D
-
Wow this looks so great, I'm super excited to fly this. Thanks for the awesome pics, and your hard work!

It is not a completely new game, just a few upgrades here and there, the main one being that you can use it in DCS World. You can buy an upgrade key for cheaper than buying BS2 straight up, however the upgrade keys are out of stock right now, not sure when more are coming.

Can someone help me figure out what to purchase?
Sel94 replied to Cavemanhead's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
With your A-10C, you don't have to spend any additional money to integrate it into DCS World, simply use the same key. However for the Blackshark you have to buy an upgrade key from the store(as of right now the upgrade keys are out of stock, not sure when they'll make more). The AFM/PFM thing can be kind of confusing, right now I don't think any aircraft has a PFM(might be super wrong on this) but all the AFM aircraft(which are everything except some FC3 aircraft) are super fun to fly and handle well. You really can't go wrong with any the aircraft here, but if you're a lot more interested in flying than shooting, I'd recommend the P-51, which you can pretty much fly for free because DCS World comes with a free TF-51, which is almost the same exact aircraft! I always have a lot of fun flying it around, so I would recommend trying it. -
To use your BS2 upgrade key, you must first have BS1 installed and activated. Then, install the BS2 module into DCS World and run a singleplayer mission that will put you in the KA-50. Before loading, it should ask you for a key, and that is when you put your upgrade key in. You get the upgrade key by buying one in the store here. Edit: Actually just looked again, the upgrade keys are out of stock. They will probably make more keys later, or you can contact support for further help.

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?

GTX 570 -
Hopefully we won't be waiting much longer. Being patient is all we can do right now though, just give the devs the time they need and I'm sure they'll release a great product soon.

Only 10 times a day? I've done at least 20 in the last hour ;) I'm getting super excited for it, I'm sure it will be an amazing product. Hopefully all the final testing stuff is going smooth for LN/ED, when it's out they'll get my $50 immediately.

Steam Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and Steam Specific Issues
Sel94 replied to ShaZe88's topic in Steam Support
Yes when you purchase a module on Steam, find DCS World in you library, on the right side of the screen(I think) there should be something like 'view CD Key.' Click that, copy the key, then use it in the non-Steam download version. -
There should be an update exe in Start Menu > All Programs > Eagle Dynamics > DCS World > Update DCS World. However if that isn't there or doesn't work, going directly to 1.2.8 should be fine.

DCS on Mac Pro or buy new machine?
Sel94 replied to chrischart's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah a new i5 and a 770 sounds pretty good for DCS, of course it depends on your budget if you want to go lower or higher, but those things will do quite well. -
DCS on Mac Pro or buy new machine?
Sel94 replied to chrischart's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That system could probably run it on low to medium settings, however both the CPU and GPU are lacking in power. Of course, you can download DCS World and see how things run in one of the free planes. Also, welcome to the DCS community! -
What, you DON'T want to fly a anime girl/plane in DCS you say? I wouldn't think there would be any opposition to the idea on this forum;) Anyway, I've been watching Jormungand recently. I'm not super into the whole moe/little girl thing that seems to be popular lately, so I really enjoy it, it being a bit more on the mature side, with some nice action. Some of the forum goers here may enjoy it as well. Also, nice pics above ^^

I would be totally ok with little anime girls piloting all the aircraft in DCS, or our aircraft were anime girl/plane hybrids like above. Come on ED make it happen, please!

Saitek X52 Pro or Saitek X55?
Sel94 replied to ThorBrasil's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have an X-52 pro, it's a pretty solid product, but has some flaws. First, all the sliders on the throttle(but not the throttle itself) are not that great, they are not very accurate and will jitter between a few percents(like you set it to 70%, but it will keep going back and forth between ~68 and ~73). Second, the MFD is pretty much useless and has lots of bugs. Before an update, if a word was too long on the MFD, it would blue screen my computer. Even though that is supposedly fixed now, there are still a few other bugs I get, like spelling errors. Say I'm on Mode 1 and using my SU-33 profile, the MFD will say "Mede 1, S-33". Other than those things I like it a lot. All the hats/buttons/modes will let you fit pretty much everything you need for all the functions you need in DCS, and the software is really helpful for making those mappings. -
Well, I don't think anyone doesn't want more 'things', but DCS is mainly about aircraft and will probably stay that way for quite a while, which I prefer. Besides, I don't think ARMA is straying too much from its roots, the kart thing was just a bit of fun the devs were having. And if I recall correctly, the only thing they have said about DLC is that they are planning on expanding their helicopter and rifle content, nothing about micro-transactions. So for now you're probably safe from ARMA transforming into a game like CS. There is much more than graphics that goes into something like adding infantry to a flight sim engine.

A lot of the most popular ones were mentioned above, so I'll say Youtube, a lot of people get their gaming news/game reviews from people like TotalBiscuit, who averages about 300k views per video, could be something to try out.
-
Actually 1.2.8 is out, so you can use that just fine. Also welcome to DCS! You'll have lots of fun.
-
That video was seriously AMAZING, great job Leatherneck. The whole thing just looks so well polished, I can't wait to fly it! We're all rooting for you
-
I thought it looked ok as a tiny indie project, until I read: and Oh my, that simulation.....so....impressive? The tie fighters were a nice touch though, DCS needs those.
-
Well I think they actually had a spring sale a few weeks ago, picked up FC3 for $15. Also, they tend to have sales ~ a week after a new module comes out, so with the Mig-21 and the training jet(the name escapes me) coming soon, and summer, there seems to be a likely chance of a sale in the near future.

I don't have any advice for dog fighting, sorry, but for your recording software inquiry, you might want to check out GeForce Shadow Play. It is completely free....if you have an Nvidia card that is in the 600 series or higher. Hope this helps, good luck becoming the best:thumbup:

Flaming cliffs 3 mac pro retina
Sel94 replied to sacrista's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yep, you have an integrated GPU, which can't really provide the juice needed to run DCS unfortunately.
