Hey does anyone know if 1600 speed RAM works without OCing on my MoBo? I'v asked and looked around, some say it does and some say it doesn't, so I'd really like to know for sure.

My budget's just not high enough to afford an i7 without sacrificing other components. Also I'm pretty sure the i5 ivy bridge I picked should last me a while, it's not that much worse from an i7 right?

That's a good point, although I would value that faster speeds from the SSD, and it is easy to upgrade a graphics card, which I will probably do the next holiday. And I'm upgrading from a 5750, I don't really have a problem with it but any upgrade will satisfy me.

Hello everyone, I will be graduating high school soon and I get to build a new PC as a present! Here are the parts I plan to use, any tips are appreciated. I can't go much higher than $1,100, this build costs 1,137. I am upgrading from a Phenom II 810 quad(2.6Ghz), Radeon 5750 PC. CPU: i5 3570k MoBo: MSI Z77 RAM: 2 x 4GB DDR3 1600 GPU: Radeon 6850 SSD: Samsung 830 64BG (for OS) HDD: Seagate 1TB PSU: Corsair 700W Optical Drive: Sony Drive WiFi: Rosewell Adapter (I need wireless) OS: Win 7 64-bit Case: NZXT Phantom ATX Full That's what I came up with, any tips for something I missed/saving money/getting better parts are welcome. Also I know the Sandy Bridges didn't work 1600 RAM without changing some settings, I'm not sure how it is with the new CPUs/MoBos, so can I get some info on that? Thanks!

Can you go to the inside view(F1) and everything works? Make sure that when you make a mission the aircraft you want to fly is set to 'player' or else it will just be controlled by an AI.

I'v been looking around the new file structure in DCS world and I found some things that may be useful to know in the future. Basically, I'm wondering if there are new ways to add skins to aircraft. The first way is in 'DCS World/Bazar/(aircraft)/(skin)'. This is not for all aircraft skins, but for all the P-51 skins folders, in addition to the 'description' file(that was the only file there in other DCS games), there is also all the skin files in the folder. I'm wondering if we can just put the skin files there now instead of the '/temptextures' folder(or the other place that I forget). The second way is in 'DCS World/Mods/aircraft/(aircraft)/skins'. To me that sounds like a place where you would place new skins. If you have any info about this, thanks. Can't wait for the template to come out:thumbup:

I seed a lot too, but I can't upload more than 120 kb/s.

I used torrenting for my first time to download P-51, I was a little worried at first but now it seems fine, I have run multiple scans with Malewarebytes and MSE and they've found nothing, and it's an overall good way to download things. I guess you just have to be careful with what you download with it, but I'm sure no one in our community would do something malicious. Also, I feel good when I seed :)

They just imported the 25t from FC2 to DCS, it is simply a small bonus for playing DCS, it's not meant to be a new project as bringing it to DCS quality would take a lot of work. I think it is nice that they put it in, as we can finally have real pilots fly SEAD.

Yeah a template would be nice, it really helps.
