I used PS3 Eye with some ugly 3 point clip. It worked without removing the IR filter... But then I got a TrackClip Pro cheap from a squadron mate... The PS3 Eye wouldn't "see" it very good when turned to left & right, so I removed the IR filter and now it works really great... ...also had to tweak the model dimensions and model position. Here is pic of my settings: Here are a few links for the IR filter removal & types of PS3Eye (yes, there's two): http://codelaboratories.com/research/view/ps3-eye-disassembly http://www.peauproductions.com/blog/2009/04/17/the-two-types-of-ps3-eye-stock-lenses-pictures-of-each/ http://nuigroup.com/forums/viewthread/4189/

You sure getting 120 FPS? Cause in specs for that camera it says 30FPS at VGA resolution (640x480)? I get 125 on my PS3 Eye only when i set it to 320x240... and it's a gamers cam...

Was looking forward to chit chat with all of the squadron leaders... ...nevermind, more time to gather some new questions for the actual meeting... ;)))

All the A-10 missions over Kosovo were flown from Italy... They'we seen the birds and fallen in love...

Someone removed the documents from the original links... ...so here goes RL 2008 & 2010 Hawgsmoke docs, cropped and optimized to fit one attachment... :smartass: Hawgsmoke_RL.zip

You see how many questions does AfkMan have? And he is an instructor in his squadron... and a really good one... I hope now you understand why I asked for them tracks or vids...
-
Laud gave me the type of answer I asked for Tyger... Thank you for your kind sugesstions... but none of the delivery methods from the SOP are covered in detail in the manual, that is why I asked for tracks in the first place... There is no "matey" here... you are continuing to offend me & my squadron Tyger...
-
I didn't ask you explicitly to make tracks paulrkii... I asked all contestants that fly the A-10... JaBoG32_Laud's answer in post #185 is just the kind of thing I was searching for... ...and thank you Laud on that one...
-
WTF is this? A flame? Well thank you my friend, didn't think this would be the tone in which an international event is being arranged... I asked for tracks just so my squadron could learn... A little disappointing remark from someone who does tutorials himself... eh?

The next great thing would be a track of someone really experienced to do the thing, with voiceover... :joystick:

Separatists Aggression The Campaign

Don't worry Grimes... I was just kidding about all that "Touch The Hog" stuf... If you look more carefully at the pictures, that is just my brand new "SU-25 Raven" SEAD pod mounted on-top of my wing... :D:D:D -

BTW. graywo1fg, you should test some more the behaviour of the SU-25s... last night, two of us flew Day 2, the SEAD flight never took off on our request... guess they were arguing on the taxiway about who was the day's winner of "Touch the Hog"... (see pic). By some miraculous way we destroyed all the threats, even the Tunguska biatch... only the two of us... but then, our Badger groups reached all invasion goals and they all stopped... We went for some gun runs on the remaining umbrella-less schmucks... but one BMP got cocky and teared my wingman's hm... wing... :( I landed, refueled and rearmed, went for some more... but the units were still standing still and I was expecting at least a confirmation of sucessfull CAS for the invasion (as opposed to the hillarious failure notice)... Nevertheless it was great fun... Especially the part when I brought my bird home and landed it on scrap metal... Abkhazia is really a poor county... The hungry bastards, they stole my wheels while I was flying too low on some gun runs... :D -

We found out what was with the case of the crazy Georgian SU-25 pilots... they invented this game called "Touch the Hog" few days after we arrived in the theatre of operations to help them... One would never believe... but I saw it with my own eyes and felt it on my "skin"... :megalol: -
Please move the Mustang forum somewhere below the Warthog section... you're just now messing with my feelings... And, yeah... you can call the F/A-18 simulator whatever you want, even "Mustang" as I see is the occurence novadays... but get it out already... pliz... :D And of course, don't forget the WWII scenery for it - Nevada!

Yep... I tested with beta 8.95 release and the white buggers are still there... will switch from 6950 to 6770... cause i get the same framerates 30-50... bah...

Separatists Aggression The Campaign
Aries replied to graywo1fg's topic in User Created Missions General
So... on to Day 2... Ops briefed us short on the battlefield picture, and it was all milk and honey... A beautiful sunny day to pour some on the scared and retreating Abkhazian bad-boys, nevertheless there was this strange feeling tickling my spine... Me and my brethren aligned for take-off in an orderly fashion, engines warmed up... sharp, bloodthirsty... Abkhazian bloodhirsty... :gun_smilie: And then, a split-second before I call my roll... number 2 frantically yells: "Incooomiiiing, REAR!!!" I take a fast glance, and I freeze... Some crazy Georgian SU-25 "Grach" pilot thundering over our canopies... :shocking: Turbulence shook my Hog so hard I got a Master Caution warning... Of course, nothing a subtle "onboard computer reset" couldn't iron out... We hastily plunged towards the border, our ground pounders already rolling... On arrival, scattered over the rivers, JTAC pointed to some armour coords, fangs out... None of us knew, what was actually out there... :music_whistling: And then, JTAC calls in a Tunguska and an SA-9, OMFG!?!??! Everyone, gain altitude, fast... Fly, you fools... Then another cry is heard on Victor frequency... dustbangers are gettin' rained uppon by some evil arty... I call the heavy-duty Hog to pull out, to take care of those 2K pounders, for a time of need may come... And the first thing I hear back is his cursing, popping flares & chaff already, they're byting for him... Even Tunguska spraying some paint on, she must be close... One engine shattered, number 4 was pulling out, for good... By now, we're all getting touched by the devilish S6, but none can lay sight on it... scanning the already smoking terrain... Anxiety clutching my mind, our boys are being decimated and all we can do is run & hide or - die... :helpsmilie: The SEAD flight was coming in ten minutes... The too long ten minutes... Badger group going for Gali is haywire over the radio, can't listen no more, we're going in... Our eyes are on the arty, our lives are on the dice, my last thoughts are those of a Berserker, letting his warcry out in a suicidal leap... :gun_rifle: My Mav hits them long guns, number 5 lays a cluster on my mark... Tunguska missile launch!!!:fear: And another one!!! Breaking and cramming the skies with aluminium foil, to no avail... S6 knows no forgiveness...:( A strong thud and some blackness, my sight returns... I'm spiralling down... flames, wing gone... ...Eject! Eject! Eject! Clinging from my sheet... looking at number five's burning trail in the distance... hope he managed to burst out too... Arty is gone... but so are we... And then, the corner of my eye catches some fast, white trails, ending in the spot that took our wings... Numer 2 reports Tunguska is no more on RWR... My dear SU-25s, you got here seconds too late... Ops calls in some transport planes at Gudauta to be taken care off... Number 2 pushes on, a pair of LGBs left... and what beutiful presents will they be... TGP on mark, they will never know he was there... silent, high, untouchable... Wait?! What's going on? They're rolling, bugging out... Pickle! Fast... Damn, they're speeding... GBU one...Miss!!! Second one - miss!!! Arrgh... time to pull 'em little snakes out... cause you ain't going nowhere, big boys... Nowhere!!! Number 2 hurls down, unleashing a hissing deadly little snake... Oh my God, he never saw so much flares... the Sidewinder bytes and the big ones don't even blink... Let's see what happens with a second one... There it is, one of them transports sinking, slowly... Switching to depleted uranium... getting a little closer... BWHAMOOSH!!!! But the remaining big boy is still floating, and number 2?!? He is no more... He just bought an AMRAAM to his ass by a trigger-happy F-15 flyboy... :poster_oops: -- And thus ends my little story... hope you enjoyed reading it as I enjoyed flying it... Aries OUT! :smilewink: -
Yeah... the frikkin thread... :music_whistling:

Place headtracker files from post #28 in "\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\bin\headtracker": http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=75917&page=3 Set up faceapi, facetrack 1.6 (customize curves and set keyboard shortcuts for starting, stopping and centering) and choose Freetrack protocol. Forget Trackirfixer on this one... Game will not show anything new in controls, but it will work...
-
:thumbup:Yeah, really cool stuff...
-
Do not play... read the frikkin thread... it's all there and you'll learn something...

Thank you Nate... hope you understand my frustration...

Mail sent... it's funny... how we are maybe barking at the wrong tree... cause if you think about it... in all other games these white buggers don't exist, DCS-related "feature" only... bah... will be changing graphics card soon if they don't sort it out in 12th Catalyst edition...

For Strela's (SA-13) I usually use programs J (single flare) or K (double flare) in manual mode, try to fly away from the missile changing altitude, preferably from high to low and spawn a shitload of flares the second you are in position of leaving them between your plane and the threat... whilst still changing course and altitude... Cause the flare itself won't catch the missiles eye everytime if you continue flying in same or slightly changed direction and pop flares... Of course, sometimes flares don't help ya no matter how hard you try, and I love it that way... randomness and uncertainess...
