  1. Post a track here. THe radar is working fine. The 'procedure' is working fine during instant action for example the Su-27 Intercept mission because the targets are nearly co altitude (B-52+F-5). I suspect you're not working the elevation and/or not recognising ECM targets?
  2. I find the FC3 AIM-120 far less lethal and versatile than the FC2 version. I have no quantitative information to reinforce that opinion, but it's just an observation.
  3. We don't really know what that range means though. It's just a number. What's the kinetic state when the missile reaches that range for example? Also I don't think the Active AE was fielded. And having flown with the AE mod that was out at the time, the AE was a poor missile.... you could over-G it no problem, just like the AIM-54... just work the RWR.. 9G pull, gone. THat said I'm sure it could be used tactically to give the enemy something to worry about. I remember flying it with friends and IIRC I said it's a waste of a pylon.
  4. True. But good pilots utilized the additional weapon to its maximum. AFAIR there were 2 servers which allowed it. The 104th and the -4c- No it didn't. There was some minor complaints resulting from ill informed players flying that used the mod without consultation with the rules of the other servers. I don't believe it was catastrophic.... no more that today when Steam guys come in and start looking for labels and external views. lol
  5. You must be getting old... Me on the other hand would prefer to have a more hands on experience with... the bomb/missile thing. Have you ever seen the back of it? It has 2 holes... 1 big and 1 small. LOL
  6. What we need now is a development of the discussion from the F-35 advocates on how that will fill in the gap.
  7. One particular benefit is replaying tracks. On one very active mission we have on rotation it is a pain replaying tracks in accelerated mode even with FPS set at something low.
  8. Kh-22, AS-4, NATO: "Kitchen". She obviously was trying to find her way back to the kitchen and got confused. :D
  9. In Soviet Colombia, Drugs get High
  10. so yeah I think I counted 29 by Bort number alone. Didn't bother looking at RF numbers and only counted the VVS airframes (ignored MiG owned airframes) Red 3 9 11 18 20 22 23 24 32 34 37 Blue 1 5 6 9 10 14 16 18 19 57 60 76 91 92 93 94 95 592 EDIT: 29
  11. I watched the PressTV news release on this. As much as I treat that news service with caution, they did say there was some reports of maybe 2 pilots leaving, but the whereabouts of one was unknown. Was all very sketchy. PS: Do the Belsimtek Mi-17 allow parachuted ejections? :D
  12. It doesn't. Turkey violated Syrian airspace to shoot it down. That's the implied message.
  13. Mate, radars generally have a very powerful narrow beam that sweeps sectors. They already are tiny sector scanners zooming across large sweeps of sky. Not too unlike how a CRT Monitor works. :) The difference in scanning sectors relates to the time it takes. THe radar is tuned to so that it is as powerful as it can be without shortening it's MTBO to something stupid.
  14. I have looked at your list and accepted that there are far more than 12. I wasn't talking about your bias or my bias. You would do well to increase your level of Reading Comprehension.
  15. He's got 5 pages of pictures of far more than 12 airframes. Lots of bias here wishing there was less. ;)
  16. Now you get it. :) Everyone's going to throw around nukes. After the silos, the Airbases are the targets. We're not purely talking about the concrete runways. We're talking about all the Aeroinfrastructure, weapons stockpiles, human resources etc that might have a hope of keeping an advanced airforce in operation in some form of insularity. They're all gone at that stage. Ironically it's the silos and the airbases that would incur the largest hits and the resultant lethal radiation, not the cities.... at least not within the first exchanges. So the likes of Zhukovsky, Engels, Ramstein etc all gone. And very importantly, their men.
  17. Maybe I should repost what I wrote: In WW3 there are no airbases after 48 hours. Game over for every advanced platform that requires one.
  18. In WW3 there are no airbases after 48 hours. Game over for every advanced platform that requires one. :)
  19. Then again they had 6 hours notice. :)
  20. I hear the Antey S-350E 'vityaz' got shown at this years Maks? Interesting that it's heritage comes from a Joint Ru/SK sam system. La3J-6fKOAk
  21. Targets are approaching anyway. Medium is best for targets going away.
  22. ECM has masked the target in front/behind. See datalink.
  23. Hyperbole much? ;)
