  1. BTW, I'm pretty sure that if you can replicate this consistently, then you can confidently submit your logs/track/mission file to testers or developers.
  2. That's interesting actually. And makes me think about some missions we have that are very prone to crashing now, with tankers and awacs driving around the airfield at the start. Must test this...
  3. One thing which has poisoned our impression of Iranian F-14s and their airforce in general is that Tom Cooper guy... seems a lot of research and knowledge filters back to some of the stuff he authored... which had some very high bar claims to put it nicely. lol
  4. There is one thing that I had read before about the Iranian infrastructure, opinions that are supported by USAF personnel there in the 70's was that the Shah as we know had planned to have a very large airforce and had made considerable industrial and logistically provisions for it along with a lot of self reliance moves helped by the US before his fall. IN other words, there was a lot of expertise passed on, and domestic production capacity and even though there was a ~20% purge of the airforce loyalists, much of them seem to have filtered back into the industries as time went on and the political issues started to fade away. I think generally there might be a few surprises both in their favour and against them.
  5. Was the Mim-23B part of the I-Hawk upgrade? AFAIK it might have been on of the later upgrades to give the SAM low altitude/anti clutter capability. Otherwise I imagine the seeker head technically would be limited to shootup engagements?
  6. Do we really have any evidence that the MIM-23 was transformed into something that would work with the AWG-9? And really with the R-27 aswell??
  7. I would say the AIM-54 is severely compromised at this stage, unless they got something else made from Agat in Russia (Radar equipment).... which is nothing to be sure of.
  8. Read above post... try it yourself in the Instant Action FC3>Su-27 mission. Seems once you manually lock once, it returns to autolock.
  9. Here's the inconsistency... After the initial Manual Lock in vertical Mode 3, Mode 3 CAC then will start to autolock any target after that. It makes no sense really..
  10. "MiG-29 and Su-27/33: The vertical scan will not lock target automatically. Instead, player must press and hold the ENTER button to lock the target." That won't be popular.
  11. lolol :megalol:
  12. Dude.. he's subscribed to Lady Gaga... 'nuff said. lol
  13. You should close the door to the kitchen and she won't see you on the forum. :D
  14. I read enough of the thread though to see that Satellites are more manoeuvrable now. So they can be shifted out of orbit. Add in Stealthy design and it might become an issue. Stealth Drones though.... not always easy to detect.
  15. I haven't read the thread entire, but along with satellites, stealth drones seem the way forward. No pilot to lose, and if you do lose a couple of airframes... so what. Send a few more up,.. no biggie.
  16. Here's an honest question.... how stealthy is a 2.4 metre Lens though? Or any lens for that matter? Would it not negate the stealth to some degree?
  17. In local parlance we call them 'Waltzers' :music_whistling::smilewink:
  18. I see 054 has lost the nose instruments... and the bubble after of the cockpit.
  19. If 'S' it can be done with higher fidelity than 'SM', then fine. :)
  20. Mission design. For a time on the 104th, we used to have cordoned off areas for P-51DvsP-51D scraps. Similar map segregation could be used for these, except on a bigger level.
  21. I know I said this before,... I just hope ED put in some Ballistic missile targets... because PAC-3 ain't so good vs aircraft. You do realise also the PAC-3 has a very short range and is nothing like PAC-2?
  22. How's your Russian? Pics in the link half way down.
  23. Mission briefs updated in 1st post.
  24. For the same reason as when we had thought the earth was flat. :D
  25. I don't think curvature of the earth is modelled for any purpose in this Sim.
