  1. You should replace the entire unit. The monitor is fine. If you are using TrackIR you can get excellent performance from even an old card like the 1080Ti. If you want to move to VR that's a much bigger investment. Get as much VRAM in your GPU as you can afford. This is the big limiter for flight sims. 10GB of VRAM is a good place to start. Check out Asus ROG for some sales. Dell is good too.
  2. There is Wags' ECM video:
  3. IKR. The OpenXR Developer Tools is an addon for OpenXR, so you can see under the covers. @mbucchia made the OpenXR Toolkit that gives you scaling, FPS, MR stuffs, etc. It's all a bit fuzzy to me.
  4. There is OpenXR Tools for WMR and there is OpenXR Toolkit. You don't need both, but if you want OpenXR Toolkit, you must first install OpenXR Tools for WMR. OpenXR Tools for WMR can be found in the Microsoft Store. OpenXR Toolkit is the one on Github.
  5. Yeah, you don't need to switch to OpenXR. It brings OpenXRTK which has some nice features, but you are doing great with those numbers. By AF off, I mean Anisotropic Filtering off in the Game settings. I think if you set it to off in the NCP it may prevent the game from doing AF. I have not tested this in ages. You will be happy with the antialiasing gamma correction setting. It works in MSFS as well. I've tried them all now too, but still learning now and then. In 2D the performance is so good you can throw everything at it. VR only started working really well for me in my G2 with the last version of OpenXR.
  6. This is Antialiasing Gamma Correction from the Nvidia Control Panel. Turn this off. Also turn off Trilinear Optimization, and I have my AF (EDIT) turned off entirely. I have all shadows off now too. I'm running FXAA from the Nvidia Panel now. Works great. I am finding now that less is more with VR. It may not be the prettiest, but it's smooth. At first I thought, since the rendering engine is deferred (today) that it loves as much AA as you can throw at it in 2D. So, start with the largest, sharpest image and try not to fuzzy it up with scaling and sharpening. Then I realized that all that AA was adding tons of fuzz. So, now I have the sharpest, smoothest DCS, with some aliasing in the usual spots. My brain will tune them out soon enough. These are my new hi performance settings for VR.
  7. I'm going to park my AH-64D in my driveway.
  8. New render pipeline! Nice work folks! Can't wait to test!
  9. I got the AH-64D when it first came out, but just got airborne with it this week. Got my first gun kill today. I absolutely love it! Fabulous module!
  10. The fact that it works at all is intriguing. BTW, I never said "more fps", I said improvement. I find the colors better with AA and AF set in the NCP. Try it, see if you like it. EDIT: I see my testing may have been flawed that time. Perhaps I was just turning off AA and AF. Anyway, further testing shows that the least amount of AA possible is the best for sharpness in VR for the G2. I have it set to MSAA x2. And, the only setting that matters to me in the Nvidia control panel is Antialiasing Gama Correction OFF to get rid of that shiny halo around things. Again, motion reprojection always on, and nothing from OpenXRTK required for this test. That's as smooth as I can get it.
  11. I was wondering how to get my High Visib Range back, and I stumbled on to these settings; basically move Anisotropic Filtering and Antialiasing to the Nvidia Control Panel. Seems to me the quality improves considerably with the same sharpness.
  12. Yeah, the short View Distance is something to get used to. It takes a big load off the sim. Tweak this to your system; if you can go higher, do it. Throw Foveated Rendering in from the OpenXRTK if your headset supports it. Just flew the Lebanon Mach Loop at 50 ft with this setup. Smooooth.
  13. VR is working great for me with my G2 and 3080ti. The right speaker of the headset has a poor connection, and I have to jiggle it sometimes. If you have sound issues, try uninstalling the Nvidia HD Audio driver or just disabling the devices on your monitors, assuming you don't need them.
  14. I have been testing PG lately, and with Heat's goal of smooth ground motion, I went spelunking. Motion Reprojection is most definitely the way to go. I have been getting excellent results with these settings: WMR set to Best Visual Quality, 90hz, Openxr MR Always On, DCS MSAA x4, SSAA x2, and tune everything else for 30 or 45 fps. No OpenXRTK features besides FPS counter enabled for this test. My G2 is loving this setup. I get a very, very solid 30 or 45 fps with my 3080Ti. BTW, try this in VR: if you get shot down by a Mig-29, press F2 to find an active Mig, F4 to ride along, spin the camera until you are riding right on top of the Mig. Best ride in town!
  15. I have been wondering lately if Res. of Cockpit Displays has any impact on VR when it is set to ANYTHING BUT "every frame". I am wondering if not having it at every frame mucks up the timing gears somehow. I have mine set to 1024 Every Frame. VR is very smooth for me.
  16. PG is looking very nice! Really loving the F-16 flight model now!
  17. It does work, but I don't see any magic happening with those settings. Right now I am running Openxr 100% with MR disabled, and only Foveated Rendering on Performance from the toolkit. Make sure WMR is set to Best Visual Quality. As well, I'm throwing a lot of load on the GPU, with 4xMSAA, and 2xSSAA, SSAO, and SSLR. The strategy here is to keep the GPU loaded up at all times. Low Latency Mode = Ultra in the NCP. Somebody fixed something, because it's performing great with PD 1.0.
  18. So, it looks like there is some benefit to setting OpenXR Custom render scale to 200% with the G2 and DX12 and DLSS Performance (in the pretty sim) OR OpenXRTK with NIS scaling set to 60%ish. Has anyone tested this? This has made a huge improvement in the other sim performance in VR with the G2. I suspect it has to do with the huge buffer the sim creates for the Openxr 200% resolution. However, the sim never renders to this buffer when you have DX12 and DLSS or OpenxrTK with NIS scaling. Going to test this today. Edit: I flew my normal 2D settings, and it was amazing. I have everything set to Let Windows Decide in WMR with MR Always ON. PD 1.0. It was locked at 30fps for some reason. Also works with FSR. Will test CAS tonight. Edit: CAS was not smooth. NIS Scaling works best IMHO, but I have a 3080Ti. FSR looks great too. Edit: I think this is placebo. Performance is excellent with NIS scaling. No Openxr setting change required.
  19. Perfect timing. They have a new demo coming out today:
  20. Pretty sure this is not a bug issue. The issue is tracking all those debris objects for collision calculation. Wishlist item, perhaps?

    AI Roadmap?

Awhile back there was talk about reviewing the AI state changes and decision trees. Is this happening for all air, land and sea units? Is there a rough schedule? Improvements are coming along nicely to the air units. +1
  22. Does DX12 make it easier to offload graphics API calls to cores? Does it bring all the benefits of Vulkan without a major platform shift?
