  1. I would further this and say at 20K feet we are not at 165 Knots CAS or TAS either, TAS of course being more important for calculating a rate of turn.
  2. My guess 1st clip = a PW R-2800 (corsair, hellcat, bearcat, Thunderbolt) 2nd clip = Griffon followed by a Merlin (Spit and......Spit) 3rd clip = another R-2800?
  3. I think it will be the version that MH434 is, 1943 built with C wing isn't it? which means the .303 AFAIK +2 x 20mm
  4. it's not eye candy, I was testing last night and the slats were giving behaviour expected of a slat equipped aircraft quite convincingly.
  5. We must also accept that pilots will be able to take higher g loads in short bursts, it is sustained g that leads to g loc effects.
  6. I have been to 7g in real life, only my headset fell off.
  7. it should take 8g if the manual says so, but if you pull 9 or 10 g in a fight you won't even pull 6 the next time you turn hard, things will start to weaken if you go over the structural limit.
  8. Love it, add 20% because it's German :megalol: Basically you 'might' exceed it once at 120% but next time it will fail at 80%.
  9. Yeah the trim thing is annoying, I think it's the same in other DCS aircraft.
  10. Yep, great job, it felt very nice, awesome in the oculus.
  11. Yep, already done that, nearly finished.....getting excited, I'm going straight into the oculus to look at this one.
  12. open beta for the standard version? OK, I think I found the problem, my DCS did not auto update to the latest version.....I don't know why, it usually always does.
  13. nope, unknown module still
  14. This thread :megalol:
  15. I wouldn't pay $50 for it but I would like to see DCS open its doors to civil types and perhaps even capture a larger revenue stream from the former MSFS crowd.
  16. They are completely free floating so could be in either position, they can be pushed in very easily.
  17. I found that just using the mouse to hit the 'fly' button starts me flying, no need to press pause break twice.
  18. By default it is keypad 5, find it in the list and assign it to a HOTAS button is what I do
  19. Just tried this, it works, you learn new stuff every day, it is probably better advice too as it seemed to improve my frame rates too
  20. if TrackIR is not agitating your motion sickness then the rift is probably not going to affect you, it feels natural, trackIR is not so natural considering you have to move your eyes in the opposite direction to your head. I'm not sure Oculus can do much to guarantee no motion sickness if someone is susceptible.
  21. The consumer version is most likely due out next year, so far that is the indication, probably in the later part of the year, DCS already supports the rift so it's not an issue.
  22. it's not an issue, it is a perception generated by the current developer kits which are not up to the task, but they are not intended for consumer use anyway, people remain sceptical but I am not as my experience of the DK2 is that it is only just slightly short of being good enough.
