  1. WOW!!!.........I may have to change my underwear
  2. I would say a generic pit with physically identifiable levers and switches (gear/flap lever) could be a perfect fit for VR, everything is identified by feel, even a bank of switches could be formatted in such a way that makes it easy to commit to memory.
  3. What's with all this 'honest' opinion stuff, why do people assume any opinions given so far aren't honest?
  4. I have only flown the Lear45, the controls are all direct cable with no power assist, gear, flap, spoilerons and TR are indeed hydraulic, in the case of aileron jams it has the ability to control roll using only the spoilerons but only from the P1 side
  5. No, the sad fact is simply that VR is putting your nose out of joint because you are a seller of alternate technology which is going to suffer badly because it is massively limited and frankly inferior.
  6. ignore zahry, he is obviously on an anti oculus crusade.
  7. I still wonder why man doesn't have a manned moon base.
  8. What are you missing? just the simple fact that until DK2's arrive and developers start implementing the positional tracking into existing or new titles then there is little point in mentioning much about the CV1.
  9. Yep, already done that, not that I needed to, even Palmer Luckey has been saying the same thing for years.......sadly you decided that your vastly superior understanding of things was not worthy of the rest of us and we all had to wait for Palmer to get something practical done.
  10. Nope, never said it's suitable for combat flight sims in it's current form, but it is good enough to use to just fly around and get a sense of presence. The rest of your post makes it clear you have a very biased view so it is not worth going into.
  11. well no, they said gamers and not specifically flight simmers, so not exactly that at all, what they are saying is that as this develops it will become the ultimate peripheral because you will not get the same presence from any other device.
  12. That's the advice Oculus themselves would give, it's not like they have ever promised the flight sim community specifically that this is the answer to their dreams.
  13. I also have DK1 and find his perspective too bleak.
  14. it only took 22 pages.
  15. Clue is in the name, it's not a testers kit, it's a developers kit i.e. it is basic hardware designed to give developers a tool to test the functionality of their implementation into software they create to support it, they have simply allowed the hardware to spill onto the enthusiast market to get samples out there promoting the idea behind it, only an idiot would be attempting to review it as a finished product at this stage.
  16. zahry 1. do you have OR? 2. you do know it's a developer kit? 3. no seriously, you do know that right? 4. do projection systems cure cancer?
  17. I think someone is still upset about the Facebook thing, the image is nowhere near what is seen in dk1, in dk1 there is much more FOV, why would anyone misinform about the rift capability? I don't stand to personally gain from promoting it, but somebody bitter has nothing to lose by criticising it.
  18. The aircraft must have taken some significant damage, you could hear the pilots call out 'master caution', so the aircraft registered a problem.
  19. it's not the first one, the Thunder Mustang has been around for a while, there was also an all metal 80% scale called the Stewart S51 which looked pretty good, both are said to outperform the original significantly. Thunder Mustang http://www.thundermustang.com/ ] Stewart S-51 http://www.stewart51.info/
  20. I think it is simply a test of a system to launch aircraft without the need for a runway, other than the 'barbers pole' air data probe it looks like a bog standard F-100 with standard drop tanks.
  21. I think you misunderstand me, indeed the learjet probably took too much damage to be able to fly, I don't believe the typhoon is made of diamond and is probably also heavily damaged, but FBW 'can' assist in the recovery of a severely damaged aircraft and I'd like to see how much damage that airframe took.
  22. I'm guessing the Learjet crashed because it does not have fly-by wire with electronic stability software to re learn how to fly a damaged airframe in a split second, the Eurofighter probably does have that. I used to fly Learjets up until December last year, trying to find out which model was involved.
  23. 2 flying but I think Kermit weeks has a 3rd flyable but it's a hangar queen.
