I realised that I don't need FS2 for it shortly after making my previous post. I still think I should install it anyway simply because it's great!

Now if I could figure out how to use TrackIR with my TV, I'd give this a shot. Otherwise, I don't suppose I could come round to your house, could I?:smilewink:

I'm certainly going to keep an eye on X-plane, but I just started getting into FSX, and bought my first addons. I think this version or the next will really come into its own, as the makers of FSX addons are likely to focus more on X plane. I'm sure i'll pick it up in a year or two.

I started with something on the spectrum. It looked a bit like the Atari one on the previous page. Then there was F14 Fleet Defender, which I played in the mid-'90s. I also played Navy Strike, which wasn't great, but by then it was hard to find games to run on my 486 sx 33. Following that I dabbled years later with a free copy of Flight Unlimited II. Fast Forward to 2010, when I bought Black Shark and Allied Force along with Lock on and IL2 1946. Then at the beginning of 2011 I built my first PC to do them justice. Trying to catch up now with FSX, F4 BMS, both DCS titles. Never seemed to get on too well with Flaming Cliffs 2, even if that is the game which first made me post here. I also occasionally dabble in CLOD. Perhaps I'm too unfocussed, as I also play various non-flight video games.

So it's Pi day today, even though it was pie week last week?

That's why, after almost 2 years of owning it, I've decided to really see what I can learn in FSX. Not totally abandoning the DCS duo though. I loves them too much. To stay on topic, I'll see how much I enjoy the challenges in Flight. It was fun playing with the 360 pad, but I'm not sure I can enjoy using my HOTAS without TrackIR.

I play that many games. Some sims, some as unrealistic as they come. I sometimes suffer from the very problem you mention.

The shark lets you stay out of horizontal range of many threats (assuming you see them). I find threat avoidance in the 'Hog quite tricky (apart from trying to stay high above AAA and IR SAMs)

Looks decent, although it's hard to tell so far. @213 , there is Mechwarrior Living Legends, although that's a mod rather than a game in it's own right. Still enjoyable IMO.

My lady won't let me have one, but I do have fairly bushy sideburns. I look really bad with a beard, but good with stubble.

I've just bought this today (a steal at a shave over GBP10!) First impressions are that it's good, but I wasn't ready for the difficulty level.

If they do a respectable job, I'll try to use my wallet to encourage them. That's how it works, isn't it?

I play Living Legends from time to time. I think it's pretty good. I wonder if the new game will be any good.

To be fair, that in itself isn't the problem. The problem is taking away the realism from those who want it.
