Does the game software allow a deadzone? I'm pretty sure the saitek software does. At least for the X52.

Does the profiling software properly differentiate between left & right ctrl alt & shift keys?

With the Saitek software you could probably make a tiny band at about 4-6% of throttle movement and map the keyboard command to that. It probably wouldn't work in reverse though, unless you maybe had 2-3% as shut down.

I think I must be lucky. OK, she's not my wife yet, but we're working on that. She finds sims terribly boring, but it's fine for me to play them, as long as I don't completely ignore her the whole night. I balance things out. Some games she actually enjoys watching me play more than some of the things on TV, so then it's much more of a together time when I'm gaming. In any case, even when I'm simming, I'm on the sofa next to her. She knows I just wouldn't be me without my various hobbies and interests, some of which I can enjoy with her, and some are a little more solitary. Now if only the pair of us could earn a little more, as we're far from wealthy.

There's people who know what they're doing on the rampage...that'd be scarier IMO. Anyway, I hope these don't result in loss of life, although the destruction and theft of property is bad enough. I feel both glad that I'm far away from it, and annoyed that I can't do anything about it. Maybe I should apply to join the police. I've been thinking about it for years. Admittedly, there's nothing going on north of the border yet.

I can't be certain, but IMO you have two options. 1. Save up more money for the X-65 (although at that price you really have to consider the HOTAS warthog too) 2. Buy an X52 or X52 pro. I currently have an X52, but unfortunately am not looking to sell (at least until I've saved up for the HOTAS warthog and I'm sure it's not going to brick on me)

I know what you mean. June last year, I found out how my laptop ran flaming cliffs 2 and decided to save and build a PC. The one in my sig was put together in January. I had nothing, not even mouse or kb or case to start with, so had to put it all together. I'm still saving for the HOTAS warthog and some pedals. And I thought the X52 was a stretch financially! Building a gaming PC was worth it though. I even think it helped me get a promotion!

Well I'd imagine from that that black shark would run, but I'm not sure the CPU in particular is up to running it well. I'm not sure how friendly BS is with integrated graphics either.

although it has a web browse, it can't download .PDF files. I can mail pdf files to it with "convert" in the subject line, but this manual is more than 25MB, even if i zip it.

Does anyone know a good way of getting the manual onto a kindle? I can't send attachments larger than 25 MB.

yeah, the option to play as xenon or ka'ak (sp?) could be cool. You can be a pirate though, which may not be dark, but it's at least grey.

Thanks. I got it this evening. The diplomats had left the first time I was in that sector. I went back and they were there again, and I did the mission. Now I know where it is, I can put the plot on hold and not worry about it for a while. I didn't want to spend ages building myself up if I'd somehow disabled the plot.

Investigating the sector was fine. I'm talking about the main story of the game. I started as argon patriot (I think that's the title)

Was playing TC last night having bought it for GBP5 in the steam sale. Great stuff. Feels much nicer than reunion. I might be very stupid, but after doing the little DLC thing, I can't figure out how to start the plot up. There must be someone I have to go and talk to. I don't really want to do the plot, but it annoys me that I don't know where to go to start when I do want to.

It seems your only solution is to download the mod and jump in. Also Crysis wars is often dirt cheap these days. Living Legends is currently MP only, but I like the gameplay. I'd check their forums to see which original game the gameplay is closest to.

I can't answer that. Never played MW2. PC couldn't handle the 50MB HD space for starters! Stupid 486 that it was!
