  1. Thanks Nate. The one without a chapter number for me (once I've finished deployment). Especially as I have pilot death turned off.
  2. With this campaign, I notice there's a campaign entitled Georgian Oil War, but there's also Georgian Oil War parts 1, 2 and 3. Are the latter parts just a split up version of the full campaign, or should I play these four parts in total in some specific order?
  3. I don't see the point in judging people for how they spend their free time as long as it's not harming anyone. If they want to play game mode or HAWX or whatever, that's fine. I do know there's a huge difference between DCS game mode & HAWX though. Just do whatever's fun!
  4. I did once. I got a long way through a campaing (in black shark) and died to a MANPADS I couldn't see. I didn't play much for months, as there is one mission in particular early in the deployment campaign that I hate.
  5. I wonder whether some will now hold him up as a martyr. I always prefer the idea of people being put to trial.
  6. Sounds like something needs replaced. And I'm not just talking about the clip! J/k! Accidental or had you angered her?
  7. Big list Wags, and you're just a tease with those screenshots. I need to spend less time reading this sort of thing and more time in the virtual sky.
  8. Guns also work outside of many weapons' engagement ranges. I tend to use that before rockets, which I save for things which aren't likely to hurt me back.
  9. Let me know how it went. I want to know if I'm helpful or useless.
  10. I take out the ones you circled in red first, as they're the first to come in range. That's all I really know.
  11. IIRC, it has been confirmed that they will.
  12. I love this mission! It took me a couple of tries the first time I played it. The mountains themselves are a bit of a challenge. I tend to start climbing from takeoff, in order to clear them. Once I reach the IP, I usually hover low in that valley, then edge forward once the SEAD strike takes place. I tend to start with the line of BTR's on the left. I send no orders to my wingmen, who tend to take care of the bandits, which I tend not to be able to even see until they're hit. The target area has a couple of lines of BTR's, which can cause some problems, but I think the biggest risk is that there are one or two guys with Iglas somewhere down there. I'd say that it's best to use your range advantage as much as you can. To be honest, that's pretty much how I try to tackle any given mission.
  13. That's the one. Mine was the same (apart from the missing wing section and the shredded tyre)
  14. I don't think I have a track for this, but I'm just curious. I did the first campaign mission last night and landed hard. Stupidly, heavily, hard and bounced halfway down the runway before skidding to a stop. Once I stopped, I stopped with the main gear and the tail resting on the ground with the tail up in the air. The only way I could get the nose wheel down was to apply thrust, or once moving, apply the brakes. Shortly after, the plane would tilt again as if the centre of gravity was out of whack. Is it likely that I had partially collapsed the landing gear throwing off the centre of gravity, or was it more likely to be a bug? I'm guessing the former.
  15. I reckon it'll be DCS P51D
  16. I've been online all of once. I should do it again. Show off? It's all I can do to get the thing to land on the FARP and not fall off the edge of the square thing. (see how much technical knowledge I have)!
  17. Thanks 159th Viper. I've got to admit, I was really surprised at seeing DCS Black Shark in PC world. Admittedly, it's the only place I know where I can go to buy flight sim type stuff that isn't online only. There aren't enough shops that stock this kind of thing, although I do wonder from a business perspective how well they'd do.
  18. Does anyone know of any reason I wouldn't be seeing the heat blur from my engines, despite it being turned on in graphics options?
  19. I was surprised how easy it is to get out of this state. Having read about how very bad it is in the manual and on forums, I was surprised at quite how quickly you exit the VRS. Never killed or downed me yet (although plenty of other mistakes have)
  20. Some guy here has trouble with a MacPro on bootcamp http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B00371R8P4/ref=cm_cr_dp_all_summary?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending As an aside, the price on that site keeps changing. It was GBP270 for ages, then when I bought one last week it was 280, now it's 275! Ah well, what's done is done.
  21. Serial#: 08937 Location Edinburgh, UK
  22. I know it wasn't addressed to me, but the Caret certainly does move. I've had the alarm go off at different speeds in the same mission due to how high I was flying. I wish I could remember the name of the mission that illustrates this very well. It's the one in the deployment campaign where you fly from Nalchick, for a long way, then take out a couple of lines of APCs & MLRS's. The change in altitude on that route really affects the speed you can fly.
  23. Isn't there a chart for this on the left of the Shark's pit itself? Or is that a different chart? I don't have time to check as it's first thing in the morning for me just now.
  24. a little glitchy & unstable, but it's supposedly a beta. Otherwise very good. Really enjoyed playing last night.
  25. That is cool but I won't be doing that to my sofa! Table mount for me. Think I'm gonna order the HOTAS warthog tonight. Very excited.
