It should really be mentioned in the system Requirements if it won't run due to another program simply being present. Especially when there's nothing illegal or malicious about the program(assuming that DiRT3 not running is intentional rather than a bug)

Here's Edinburgh today with REX Essentials. It looked better yesterday.

I think there's a converter on the Flight Sim Store site. That wasn't far off the amount I ended up paying in Paypal. It was a couple of months ago for me, so I can't remember the exact figure. I want to say around GBP 28 though I could be getting mixed up with GEX or UTX You'll get lovely shoddy weather with it too :D. It makes a fantastic difference from the FSX default weather.

Go into A-10 sim (or game depending on which you play), choose axis commands, click on zoom view at the bottom on Warthog throttle and wiggle that friction slider.

Also, if you only wish to slew a little away from a locked target, TMS up short with the TGP as SOI will switch the TGP between point and area tracking mode. Point seems to want to jump back to the tracked object.

I'm sure the overdrive upgrade will then be available for essentials. As I find essentials better than REX 2.0 with overdrive, I've gone for it, and am happy with it. Looked amazing tonight.

I missed all the info about upgrading and just installed, then uninstalled REX 2.0 + Overdrive. I might have done it wrong, but it's still an improvement. I swear REX 2.0 never had clouds drifting across the sky. This did. All I did was a quick 20 minute flight around my local airport (EGPH)

Yeesh! I'll stick to sims. It's a shame such things have to be used in the real world, although I understand that without the reality, there wouldn't be sims like this. This realistic violence is somewhat at odds with my genuine pacifism.

I finally managed this in BS2 having done so a few times in the first Black Shark. I made some bad mistakes, including one involving getting hit by a TOW. I wasted my wingmen (well 2 of them) on the enemy helo's. I also got a very entertaining A2A kill. Later I forgot all my emergency procedures, like what to do if your gear won't extend, and that I should set full power with only one engine. I'm not sure that I could have made it back over those mountains on one engine and no autopilot systems at all. I just flew a little way away from the engagement zone and set her gently down next to a road. Possibly the best landing I've done really. Here's a track and a screenshot. I have not reviewed the track to ensure it plays back correctly. Oh, I couldn't upload the track. I think it might be too big. It's not exactly a short mission, but I love it :D

the fire and smoke were great, but the explosions looked a little too "sparky". Not that I've seen many explosions IRL, but I imagine there'd be fewer sparks.

I haven't seen it in person, but maybe the Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X?

Damn I gotta go sometime. Closest thing for me was the Museum Of Flight at East Fortune.

I'd probably only end up playing once per month. I wonder what the consequences for death would be!

Just Cause 2 was great fun. I love my sims, but sometimes you just want to be stupid and crazy!

The disc version wont be up to date. Torrents are often used for the illegal distribution of copyrighted material. For this reason they are almost synonymous with piracy. I'd still suggest torrenting 1.1.1.1 or 1.1.2.1. I'd just go with a full version as patching sometimes causes issues. My first use of torrents was for DCS. This is a perfectly safe & legal torrent available from the DCS website. Get a client like I torrent or BitTorrent and the torrent file from DCS and away you go.

My advice looks less good now.

I assume it's something to do with the activation system, which is making it more difficult to release the upgrade version. I can't imagine this move encouraging many extra sales if that's it's purpose

I don't think mine did. I've not been asked for my key and I was able to load up instant action.
